  8. Poilievre along with Angus, who unfortunately belongs to the wrong side, are the only members of parliament that are earning their pay.
    It is just right at this time that Poilievre is a critic, he has more freedom to do that than a party leader. Hasten to say that current party leader is a complete failure, probably the number 1 in that category of Canadian politics.
    You will notice that the mass media cartel rarely introduces Poilievre as a strong opposition to the ruling class. Those that are interested in the affairs of men though take note and support Poilievre.
    A leader of conservative party must of necessity be more stateman like and use more diplomatic language with a precision of a surgeon to hit hard, Conrad Black or late Jim Flaherty come to mind.
    While the proles like plain language, the mass media cartel hangs on every damn word they say, viz Trump. The cartel then can twist and turn every damn word and every phrase to mean whatever they decide it should to dump on their target.
    Poilievre’s questions are to the point, not wrapped in bullshit and he wants yes or no answers, which of course the other side can’t handle and comes up with bullshit that is apparently good enough for the plebes.
    Unfortunately, there are no obvious prospect for the leader of conservative party though Lewis and Sloan stand out as persons that can handle the criticism with finesse as opposed to the current so called ‘leader’. That is why the guy has to get rid of people like that. Why is he in the conservative party is a conundrum.
    Of course, the backroom apparatchiks could not handle them so they made sure they would not get in. You see, the smoke room is full of apparatchiks that went to school for a long time and the only thing they have learned is how to bullshit in the world. Somehow, for unknown reason they have influence beyond their pay grade. You may have noticed they come here from time to time give us their brain farts, as the saying goes.
    Some comments are packed with nothingness that would make a politburo of communist party proud.

    2. I find that watching the CPC’s performance these past years is like watching a NASCAR race, they only ever seem to turn left.

      When they do something not worthy of fair-minded criticism, Terry, then I won’t criticize them. And let’s be clear here, the CPC abandoned us fiscal and social conservatives long ago, we did not abandon them. They no longer represent anything resembling my values and concerns… so all those chickenshit CINO’s that corrupted ‘our’ party can go ef themselves.

      1. I fully agree CO. I’ve just simply given up. I fought and worked hard for the Reform, and then the Cons after they joined with reform. Since we lost Stephen Harper, the Con party has been floundering around. Scheer and O’Toole have been the worst yet. They have no right to call themselves Conservative. The only one of note is Polievre. I liked Max as well, but he’s out in the wilderness. Once I realized that they have lost their way, I cannot in all honesty support them. As there are also no other avenues I can travel politically, I have just given up even bothering to to try anymore. From now on, I’ll just look out for myself and those I cherish, and the rest of it can go to hell. I am already past my best before date, and I know I will not see any improvement in the west in my remaining time, so screw it, I’m done!

    3. oh ya? Show up with “passion” at an urban Toronto Tory riding association, and you’ll be laughed at (politely of course, and mostly behind your back). All these genteel millionaires would never think of ‘stooping’ to fight back as Pistol Pete does. They want a Red Tory with a tinge of pink to assuage their guilt. I know – I went to mine, and they dissed all my ideas right out of the box. Not one was given a single decent hearing. Set up local telemarketing? “No, the national group looks after that”. No one I know ever got a call. Set up local sign captains to ensure signs get out quickly and give the appearance of momentum? “No, we’ll keep the signs at the office .” Oh, the one with two never-empty parking spots? How convenient. And etc.

      O’Toole has the passion of a potato, so he just suits them fine. His team had the gall to send me a note last week asking me what were the most important things to me: economy, budget, immigration, etc. (Kate, pardon me for shouting)

      NOT ONE F’ING WORD ABOUT ALL OF US LOSING AN ENTIRE YEAR OF OUR GODDAM LIVES TO SOME COMPLETE BS. What more does he need to get mad about? What more obvious and potent vein of anger to tap into? And by letting it slide, and not holding Justin’s feet to the fire *right f’ing now*, O’Toole’s just ensuring people will only remember that they were ‘given’ a ton of money, not realizing they’re paying it for years. His election to win, again, and he’s gonna blow it by being cautious and ‘safe’.
