March 20, 2021: Reader Tips

I’ve spent too many hours on digital design lately and my eyes need a break. I’ll be pushing away from the desk over the weekend, so blogging will be light. Tips thread’s open.

If it were Canada, all those high school boys would be referred to as Legends and inducted into the Hall of Fame with the best of the women Olympians.
Of course, only if the genders were reversed.
Canadian Women’s Hockey “Legends” are embarrassingly inducted into the NHL Hockey Hall of Fame along with real Legends.
Those Female High School Level Hockey “Legends” should be ashamed and embarrassed to be on the same stage and follow along with the Media Kabuki.

Horrific harms of unscientific/unconstitutional lockdowns. Horrific.

L – Cdn. fed/prov. government policies have and are responsible for needless death and human suffering. Children are not dying from the Wuhan virus, but from medical malpractice.

Every prov. needs a public inquiry into Crimes Against Humanity.

      1. Good picks. A sample of 2 more of her 1,000 voices. Maybe I’ll continue selections for the varieties in latter Reader Tips. I once read in a comment to a video “it’s like God said one day, “Oh, what the heck, let’s make a perfect singer just one time.”
Now i have to post that link. But no more here.

        1. This young lady would make the entertainers from back in the day proud. She’s an old soul with an amazing talent. Watch her go from an 1898 song to a song written in 1956.

      1. And what court in land will hear said suit.
        Certainly not SCOTUS.
Smoke and mirrors while the country burns.

  2. Vitamin D fights the Covid virus.
So people who do not get enough sunlight are more susceptible to getting the virus.

I have been sitting on my west deck in sports shorts and t shirt soaking up all the sun D I can in this nice weather.
And of course, with my faithful puppy ( now that’s a joke) at my feet.
He stretches very close the full length of the 88 in couch now. At 6 months.
My wife came up with a gr8 line telling my sis what he was like.
She said she is sure that there is a polar bear mother some where looking for her cub.

      1. His father was a pure Pyrenees and the mother was a Bernese Mountain dog.
He is all white with a couple of very small light brown markings but with a very nice brown ring around his right eye.
I joke that he got a black eye in a bar fight but you should have seen the other guy. heh
        Parents were both big dogs.
The Bernese was also known as the Cheese dog because farmers would hitch them to a wagon and load it with cheese to sell in the villages.
I’m amazed how much energy this big boy has. A fine addition to the family.
But I still have to find a doggy food bank. LOL
Lady at the dog food store told me they make excellent guard dogs which is exactly what I wanted.
        She has a GR8 Pyrenees.
        Cheers

    1. In their youth, these two unelected doctators probably attended demonstrations chanting HO HO HO CHI MINH.

Now they attend their accountant chanting HO HO HO-HO HO!

Certainly no HI-HO HI-HO off to work we go for you prols.

  3. Toronto Sun reports that every flight from India this month, had passengers with the China virus.

    1. Gotta keep the lockdowns going somehow.
Enjoy the temporary reprieve for now cause we be going back into the cooler again.

  4. Samizdata has an interesting thread up today regarding where Americans get there news.
    https://www.samizdata.net/2021/03/why-do-so-many-americans-get-their-news-from-british-newspapers-this-is-why/

Guilty, here. I read UK, and sometimes OZ, news sources and have for years, I didn’t know I was part of a trend . I quickly grew weary of the adolescent fixation on Trump and all the gotcha games; the American media made it impossible to take their coverage seriously.
I can tell you that during the early days of the pandemic, it was a relief to listen to Bojo etal.

  5. Happy World Freedom Day! There’s a great video from Dr Anne McCloskey from Freedom-Alliance .org that my inferior technical skills prevent me from sharing. If anyone can find the link it is amazing and asks us all to repeat: “We do not consent”

    1. Chris Sky has been beating that drum for a while now also.
      #JustSayNo.
Guy is a hero, check out Rebel News for his videos.
Seems York Regional Police sent 20 cops to his house the other night to arrest him for not complying with a mask health order for entering a Longos to buy a bottle of maple syrup.
Previously that night he was pulled over by the OPP for a looksee.
I guess he is a thorn in the side of Ford and Tory.
      Fooking Stasi.

  6. In case anyone is wondering, Great Leader Shit For Brains is relaxing this weekend at Harrington Lake.

  7. So whats up with this “your comment is awaiting MODERATION” BULLSHIT..???

    WHO IS MODERATING WHAT…AND WHY.??

    1. “I’m standing here with the whip in hand for self flagellation, to offset any comment moderation” will be my intro to any comments uttered by this blog dawg in future, on this Blog.

      1. hey…we never would have had that image in our head without this new speed bump. OK, it may have just made it worse.
Got 1 of those messages this morning. The post went up anyway and confusion was put back on the shelf.

        1. I’ve had several and it doesn’t seem to be particularly consistent. Posted with a link…BAM, without one …nothing, but not always. Wonder if Big Brudder has more to do wiz it, undt not der little brudder, SDA. I’m sure I”m already on several “lists” as an undesirable, somewhere from posting some of the stuff I’ve posted. (snort!)
Just checking now, replying to another’s post seems to be exempt. JIMHO

    2. Yeah, same here… the other day I posted the same link twice “moderating” the second one, in case I was too dangerous! Me dangerous? Hahaha! From now on I’ll post and run. Wouldn’t want to become like Jimmy from “Goodfellas.”

    1. I have hard time with this petition . I can’t believe there is not more to this . No body it there right mind would let a 14 year old make this kind of choice . Do not parents make these choices until they become an adult?

  8. Not politics, but a tiny part of the divided culture. Here Gold man Sachs forces lower-level financial researchers to work 100 hours a week (most of which is unpaid):
    https://nypost.com/2021/03/18/goldman-analysts-make-deck-begging-to-work-only-80-hours-a-week/

Do the 13 employees here have a right to complain? No, say traditional conservatives. Yes, say the Trump conservatives, who care about workers. Senior level finance staff get paid well, make lots of money. L:ower level workers, not so much. A tale of two worlds. The same holds true with Amazon employees at one of those fulfillment centers.

Personally, my life has been defined by hard work, and overwork. I was on a house-framing deck working full time at 13 1/2 years of age, and retired as a full-time professor at the age of 67. Very little periods of under-employment between those bookend-years. Periods of brown out and burn out. With that, there is no excuse for what is happening at Goldman Sachs. When going on these corporation websites, one reads the ESG bs, and the “social responsibility” bs, on every site. And here we see poor treatment of employees.

Conservatives must play guerrilla warfare. One technique in fighting guerrilla warfare is to log onto the “employee reviews” of these ESC corporations, and leak info to independent conservative news sites. Lots of stuff to be researched there.

    1. You have never worked in the “financial services” sector before, then. It’s a common practice. Try working for an insurance company. While you’re “earning your stripes” (two years), you can only sell their products for your 2 year “apprenticeship”, no matter how crappy they are perceived by the paying public. At the end of the two years, it’s common to get the boot and a future selling ANY insurance corp’s products with that license you crave. Some senior salesman steals (no other way to couch your language on that situation) your hard earned, 2 yr “book”, while you attempt to convince some other insurance outfit of your acumen, because you can’t take your book with you, w/o a license. Booted, released, whatevs, …..beat it.
The clowns answering the phone at TD Direct on your “account issues” has a license, but has to deal with the paying public at less than Broker wages for a while, before turning them loose on an unsophisticated public. I spent some time at a brokerage in another life, so I know of what I speak. I have fun with them on the phone. When they get snotty, TD gets a letter. Then they have to call you and make nice with the client.

  9. O Fool regurgitating Lib talking points, supporting them, is doomed to failure, he’s trying SO hard for the media to like him, he really really is.

I don’t give a f—k about the 2 Ms. They were in a foreign country on their own volition, a communist repressive country. And they were Liberals too.

Meanwhile it’s all the media can talk about, from PMO supplied talking points.

A real media would criticize Trudeau over his hollow words, but that’s a fantasy in this corrupt country

  10. https://www.monopolycommunitychest.com/en-CA
File under mischief is important. Hasbro wants to change what is on the Community Chest Monopoly cards to make them more relevant for today, or woke as they say. Gone is “bank error in your favour”, replaced with the likes of “adopt a shelter dog”. Suggestions accepted at the aforementioned website.
Here’s your chance…or community chest would be more appropriate, have at it!

  11. And now your Islam is wonderful story for today. Canadian Press reports that Turkey has withdrawn from the European treaty protecting women. Perhaps the CBC’s bag over the head news host can discuss it.

  12. I just heard excited words on the radio – the Third Wave is here. Glory be, the experts are correct.

    Grrrr###

    1. And then there’ll be a 4th wave, a 5th, a 6th….. Prinz Dummkopf won’t have to do anything for the next few years, will he?

      1. And 30% per annum increases in the provincial and federal health care expert doctators’ salaries.

    2. I don’t buy it. Viruses disappear in the spring. It is in the nature of virus to do so. This must be about “cases, cases, cases”. Yet — since we have been locked down for the last 6 weeks or so, lockdowns must not work. ( Actually, if you look at the stats it is true, they don’t work, but the stupid politicians and bureaucrats live in their own fantasy world. ) This is just more hysteria. It is unnecessary and destructive.

    1. To B–
What a shame. They are taking advantage of the Pandemic and causing undue hardship to clients. The subscriber’s family should take Rogers to Small Claims Court and represent their mother if they can afford the day off from work. However, it may not be advisable nor profitable since the meter is ticking on the equipment. Chances are the equipment is obsolete anyway.

Don’t know about the stuff they have but when I switched from Shaw to Telus, for both TV and Internet, I immediately went to the Shaw outlet and left their equipment with them after the new product was delivered and installed. Of course, that happened in the pre-pandemic era.

After 2-3 years with the new provider when the Telus cable box went kaput, a rep came over and replaced the equipment at no extra charge and took away the old junk. Unfortunately, I lost the saved recorded shows that I had on the machine so, lesson learned, the equipment is a convenience and not a library. The nice part about a PVR is that one can record up to, I believe, 4 to 5 shows simultaneously and pre-set favourite shows for recording. Total disk space is 410 HD hours or 1014 SD hours. I record on the latter to get more recording time. I rather enjoy whipping through the ads too. One can seriously edit out stuff of little interest, which is a real bonus. Most nights I watch only 15 minutes of a half hour News Show.

In switching providers one can inquire about free gifts. A few years ago Telus offered a Samsung TV (55″) to new subscribers — I didn’t get such an offer. It came the year after I had subscribed.

It takes a few weeks to get used to the system but it is well worth it. At least Telus still offers service and aren’t, seemingly, out to get the customers.

      1. In addition to Sellers, there are a number of familiar faces in the cast, including a Carry On gang member and a future Bond girl.

For another caper movie, but without Sellers, take a look at The League of Gentlemen:

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=af8RbVCASVI

Again, there are a number of familiar faces in it, including Jack Hawkins and the future director of Jurassic Park, Richard Attenborough.

        1. Yeah, yeah, I know: Spielberg directed the movie Jurassic Park, but Attenborough’s character owned and ran the place.
