    1. I see Greenwald now as a political moderate, akin to Jonathan Kay. Both have been mugged by liberal reality; both do their homework; both have even effective in exposing the dominant left’s corruption. The left holds nearly all the power in our society, and power corrupts.

  3. Who would ever have thought we’d be seeing pushback from Greenwald, Taibbi, or that they would call out jhorenalism? The rot goes far beyond self serving, half assed workmanship and reckless cherry picking and projection. Of course journalism, as a profession, has been decomposing for years, Trump was just the catalyst for the final implosion.

    I hope we all know how the game is played: the loaded questions (when did you stop beating your wife?), false accusations, cherry picking the stories, exaggerated headlines disconnected from any substance, the pretense that they can discern motivation and know private thoughts, deceptive editing of video, presenting rumors and gossip as facts, manufactured anonymous sources, suppression of anything exculpatory, deliberate misinterpretation of statements, every story slanted in the most negative way with negative adjectives, adverbs and verbs, constant gotchas and efforts to bait the target.
    The media is so petty and so vindictive that they have not featured Melania Trump on the cover of women’s magazines. I cannot even fathom what Trump did that made them so rabid and malignant. I understood why he didn’t release his tax returns, given the nature of his business, multiyear real estate developments. I can’t tell you how many half baked claims my clueless coworker told me about Trump never paying any income taxes etc… Do they really believe the public has not caught on to these tactics? They must.
    I don’t think anyone has withstood the barrage of hate or has been subjected to as much scrutiny as Trump. And then, there was the sabotage and lies of the Entrenched Bureaucracy. The media never seemed to realize that they drove many fair minded people to Trump. Most of us came to realize that he is just a stand in for traditional America.
    I think the rejection of the Prog world view is key to the grotesqueness of their effort. They act like the obsessive, pathological, crazy stalker personality, who was rejected by someone they fantasized should adore them. The Dem minions are “the person scorned”, unhinged by jealousy, and enraged by rejection. The obsession, stalking, harassment, smears, threats and bullying are all part and parcel. Prove me wrong.
    Oh, and yeah, emotional tribalism makes the most money.

I don’t suppose that everyone in the media is unethical, but even under the best of intentions, the temptation to fudge a little to present a coherent, tidy, dramatic, human interest story must be difficult to resist, especially if it is what you want to see and believe. We’ve all noticed that much of the news is about the news. I think the reporters and the media insert themselves into much of what passes for news. It seems like lying, bomb throwing, gotcha games, and acting as a provocateur are now acceptable practice in journalism, and cheerled by journalism academics . So much of the news seems about as reliable as the information derived from the childrens’ game “Broken Telephone”.

    2. There was a time, I think, when a journalist being spied upon by FBI, CIA etc would have resulted in all journalists going crazy. In this case Sharyl, and James Rosen of Fox News were both spied upon by Obama. I’m not aware of a single complaint from any other network. Heck, they tapped James Rosen’s parents phones.
      Then again, maybe it’s always been this way, and journalism has always been crap.

      1. Greg, about 50 years ago I personally witnessed Faux urnolism, by a lefty in a local rag. Us hooligans were playing the bitch, but even we were surprised at the hate the bitch projected at the cops. And then about 32 years ago my business phone was tapped, with out my having been served . It’s how they swing!

    These people are not even trying to practice journalism, they are ideological gatekeepers. So, they are not practicing “shitty journalism”, they are in fact doing a stellar job of promoting woke culture, spreading mass propaganda and dividing citizens to further empower the elites.

    THAT is their job, ‘journalism’ is only a front.

  7. Let me guess … the FBI is deploying teams of agents to investigate the “systemic Asian HATE” being fomented in Atlanta Area Christian Churches … right? Soon, all Christians in America will be under a cloud of suspicion … because some degenerate, loser, psychopath decided to murder some “massage” workers.

    Yeah, if I were a true Asian (my screen name is only quasi Asian sounding) … I would fear the FBI far more than a lone deranged madman. As soon as the FBI is finished erasing Christian liberties … they’ll be coming for Buddhist liberties.

      1. Russian Collusion was very real, and is not my basis for GG not being a journalist. The basis of that statement is that the only good journalism GG has ever done was the Snowden leak giftwrapped by Snowden (PBUH) so that GG could not screw it up.

The russia bullshit was the predicate for the illegal harassment by Mueller! Try keeping up you urine taste tester at government lab.
