Social media fact checkers hit hardest.
From the article
“It never struck me that six feet was particularly sensical in the context of mitigation,” said Dr. Ashish Jha, dean of the Brown University School of Public Health. “I wish the C.D.C. would just come out and say this is not a major issue.”
The origin of the six-foot distancing recommendation is something of a mystery. “It’s almost like it was pulled out of thin air,” said Linsey Marr, an expert on viral transmission at Virginia Tech University.
“One of the really important data points that has been missing is a direct head-to-head comparison of places that had implemented three feet of distance versus six feet of distance,” said Dr. Elissa Perkins, the director of emergency medicine infectious disease management at Boston University School of Medicine.
It really took the Gray Lady this long to start asking simple questions?
Read the whole thing.

Actually the six feet was suggested by a German doctor…over a hundred years ago when looking to stop the spread of TB.
It just occurred to me that poor pedo Joe may die of covid soon, a hero who sacrificed his life in the service of the nation.
Sure it won’t be a pillow suicide himself?
I hear many mysterious deaths by suicide from highly unlikely causes.
Open elevator shaft or Marine 1 doorway.
Stairs.
This was always garbage. Most of what has been done has very little basis in basic sense, let alone on clear and convincing evidence.
A massive overreaction by the politicians and public health experts to deflect from their complete lack of preparedness and ability to deal with a pandemic – shifting the blame to the public if they don’t wear the right talisman or comply with the latest superstition.
The sad thing is that it has largely worked.
Compare jurisdictions that lock down, or don’t, with or without masks and you will see they have similar death rates right now.
CA, NY, FL, TX. All the same. In ON about the same death rates last seven days. Lockdowns and masks may help, but imo they also hurt the actual effective measure of social distancing, for which three feet is sufficient, not six feet cherry picked from the 1800s.
They ignore the social and economic costs, telling us we have to stay home and destroy businesses to “save the vulnerable.”
Yet, wave after wave, strain after strain, it is the vulnerable who get hit, regardless of what we do. Instead of getting a grip on long term care homes which are overcrowded, don’t use proper PPE protocols and have cheating employees, government doubles down on the soft target, law abiding citizens trying to do the right thing, as they do with gun control and carbon taxes.
They failed miserably. Their measures were worse than ineffective, they caused greater harm. Statists in love with power over us will not change the trajectory of the disease or that of trying the same insane ideas and expecting a better result. Precisely wrong.
They want the job of ruling us, so let them be accountable to us for their failures. No they say as they “silence scientists.”
This must end now. If we allow ourselves another silly summer of lockdowns when herd immunity is laid before us, we deserve to have all our possessions seized, be herded in cattle cars and shipped off to build it back better great reset concentration camps.
This is not hyperbole any more than the idea of masks were a year ago. These clowns have given us no data, and we allow it?
“The origin of the six-foot distancing recommendation is something of a mystery. “It’s almost like it was pulled out of thin air,”
I believe the technical term is, “pulled out of someone’s ass.”
This is worth a repost…
Did you know the bogus idea of ‘social distancing’ was invented by a 14-year-old girl during the Bush administration in 2006?
https://www.rt.com/op-ed/489710-social-distancing-bush-lockdown-covid/
you can check with the official, CDC approved, science project by one Laura M. Glass, age 14, her Father, and two random others for the paper, that used modelling to estimate infections and possible mitigation by social distancing:
https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/12/11/06-0255_article
down at the bottom, you’ll see a rather important name, which has his fingerprints all over bad modelling for more than 20 years… one Neil Ferguson
I know a little bit about physical hazards and risk.
(A mask is moot outside and anyone wearing a mask outside – who hasn’t just left or who is not about to enter a building – is a full retard.)
Typically the first line of dealing with hazards is elimination and the last is personal protective equipment. The fact that we’re at the lowest form of risk reduction means 6′ is totally arbitrary especially when a “mask” can a wool scarf knitted by Grandma Jemima. 12′ could be 110% or 600% better and 3′ could be 95% as effective.
Its all total bullshit.
they demoralize with the lies and lack of reporting, and then when they get around to reporting they demoralize us again.
I’m done with it.
and yet people fall for this bullshit, just as they do for the goreBULLwarming nonsense!
What struck me as I read the article was how often the author advocated the efficacy of masks.
Wasn’t social distancing based on a high school students class project, her father created a computer generated model. Yea forcing us to follow a high school science project, how progressive.
