China on Friday announced the indefinite ban on importing Taiwanese pineapples would begin Monday.
While Taiwan is best known internationally for its thriving tech companies, the sub-tropical island has a flourishing fruit industry. Last year, more than 90 per cent of its exported pineapples went to China.
The latest move by China follows a string of events that signal tensions between the mainland and Taiwan are rising. Recently, especially last year, Chinese military activity increased on the island and Beijing is highly reactive to any international behaviour recognizing Taiwan’s sovereignty.
I’m old enough to remember when China banned Canadian canola.
Now that control of Hong Kong is pretty much a fact Taiwan is next. Just a matter of time. And if you are Australian batten the hatches.
What Australia needs is a top-notch nuclear weapons program. Nothing short of that is likely to slow Beijing down much.
Funny how only nations with governments committed to the destruction of western civilization are allowed to develop hydrogen bombs and genetically engineered plagues.

No worries, Taiwan has already covered those orders with internal consumption. Japan offered to help but it won’t be needed. Taiwan is a strong democracy and it will take a lot more than a sweet and sour assault to bring them down.
Taiwan is a beautiful, with a FREEDOM-Loving populace. It is a thoroughly modern, yet charming country. It is NOT Red China. It is about as far OPPOSITE of Red China as one can get. The people may “look” similar, but they’re as different from Red Chinese people as a Texan is.
If Taiwan gets swallowed up like Hong Kong by the Red Dragon … we will all soon be speaking Chinese or become a lampshade.

Why would the Dear Leader wait? The USA has no formal Diplomatic ties with Taiwan … and essentially … we pretend they don’t exist as an independent Nation. So much for our “commitment to Democracy” around the world. Only when it is expedient … like when SHE wants to bomb the shit out of Libya … to unleash the FULL Arab Spring on the Dictatorial Govt.
