When we drive across the border to return to Canada in a couple of months I’m wondering if we can just refuse to have current negative test results with us and also refuse to take another test on entry. Maybe we can refuse to quarantine! Can we refuse to give them our phone number?

  10. I’ll grant section 6 of the Charter, but I don’t know what section 14.1 of the Emergencies Act (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/E-4.5/page-2.html#h-213901) has to do with this:
    “Consultation
    14 (1) Subject to subsection (2), before the Governor in Council issues, continues or amends a declaration of a public welfare emergency, the lieutenant governor in council of each province in which the direct effects of the emergency occur shall be consulted with respect to the proposed action.”

    Unless he’s saying the provincial government wasn’t consulted before implementing all this.

      They can’t force you to take a test that is invasive to your body. Like the thing they shove up your nostril.

    I have been trying to figure out whether the federal government passed a law or regulations which allow the gov. to mandate medical procedures. Previously they could not. Does anyone know if this has changed?

    1. They’ve figured out, correctly that they can do whatever they want. It’s up to YOU to challenge it in court or whatever. I remember when Harper was literally Hitler because he would not categorically reject using the notwithstanding clause.

I’d seen part of this earlier and almost posted it on TIPS and then abandoned it when I saw it had a new thread, thinking it was the same report, when in fact this one that you’ve posted, was, in effect, part two, with David Menzes. Was this prophetic? I now predict that the gig is freaking up!
