OTTAWA — New legislation tabled by the federal government grants Canadian authorities expanded powers to search the home of any gun owner that is subject to a legal complaint, potentially allowing police to seize firearms for up to 30 days without a warrant.
“in its current form, would grant judges the power to issue a seizure order in cases where “it would not be practicable to obtain a warrant,” and before the gun owner has the opportunity to defend himself in court”
I’m sure that this power would only be used in the most extreme circumstances, just as I’m sure that now that the gun safety laws have been perfected there will be no further encroachments on gun ownership.

A yet Derek Sloan remains unrelenting in his noble fight for the soul of the party. He was very active in the just concluded delegate selection for example. He has contacted a network of his supporters with lists of delegates from each district. We then all did our part. We are legion and we are fighting to push true conservatives forward and reclaim the party from Error O’Tool. If after his disgraceful treatment by the party Sloan is willing to wait and work from the grassroots, then so am I. It is the only chance (however slim it may be) that we got anyway.

Disagree, there are more true conservatives in the rank and file of CPC than there are PPC members. Recall that when Maxipad run for the CPC leadership (i.e. before his temper tantrum) he got more 1st choice votes than any other candidate. Very few of us jumped ship with him. Most of us were angered by his betrayal. The result of this was evident when PPC, despite Libranos giving them s wide platform as possible, failed to secure a single seat, even Maxipad’s own district told him to pound sand.
You still bother voting? Ask yourself this question: is it now actually possible that the Canadian Federal government would allow the election of any party committed to territorial integrity and cutting back the Federal Civil Service? You honestly think that with 40% of the workforce directly employed by government largesse, you think they’d allow the PPC to take power?
Question: who pays Elections Canada salaries? What Union are their members part of? Have any of you been able to confirm after the fact, how your vote was counted and tallied. Your actual vote?

In how many cases has this been a concern. Virtually all crime is committed with illegal guns and if there is an immediate danger police don’t need any warrant. In Vermont, and other Constitutional Carry states, there is no such thing as an “illegal” gun, provided its not full auto. Licensing schemes are just a prelude to confiscation. The real goose steppers are the licensed gun owning elites, who think that only they should own guns, by virtue of walking a maze of government red tape. They are no different than the American federal gun-grabbers with their background checks and total control of inter-state gun traffic.
By illegal I meant illegally owned – unlicensed. Canada also loves classifying guns – likely to determine order of confiscation. I own a couple prohibited weapons, a small revolver with a barrel that is too short for Nazis and an FAL which cost me $129 about 30 years ago. They trusted me with an FAL to save the world from Godless communists and now the Godless communists in Ottawa want to take it away.

Coincidently Vermont went communist a couple of years ago, several restrictions were passed. It is a very blue state, yes, they have a tradition of very liberal gun laws but it has been changing for the worse for a while now.

This is nothing new. It’s #2 when you call the Canadian Firearms Centre. You have always been able to report someone who owned guns and the cops would be right there to seize them. You then have to apply to the court to get them back. If the RCMP find guns at any crime scene, legally owned or not, they are going to grab them. It’s standard practice. Gun owners have lived with this since 1998. Old news.
The average Canadian has no idea what is happening in Canadian politics. They are ill-informed and ignorant. I have a family full of them. I know first hand just how ill-informed and ignorant they are. When this legislation passes it will hurt legal gun owners. It is a terrible and completely unnecessary piece of legislation. But, what these same ill-informed and ignorant people who support this legislation do not realize is that they are next in the queue to be deprived of their rights.
Trudeau’s green energy plan for Canada will hurt every Canadian, and especially the ill-informed and ignorant. I cannot wait for these pathetic POSs to feel the pain that will come when basic food prices for things like bread and milk and chicken and a whole host of other items more than double in price because of carbon taxes and taxes on top of taxes. It is coming. But they are too ill-informed and ignorant to see the writing on the wall.
Moreover, just wait till the average Canadian finds that his fridge, stove, car, home are not up to the standard that the green energy regulators will soon demand. Wait until natural gas stops being the goto fuel to heat your home and you are compelled to switch to electricity to heat your home. Or, consider that limits will be placed on annual travel for the average Canadian. Or, the use of power tools like snowblowers, leaf blowers, power washers etc. will become strictly regulated or banned. This is probably just the tip of the iceberg. It will be a never ending story of pain and a re-set to near third world status.
If the average Canadian votes for this Government and for these type of policies they deserve exactly what they get. And I for one hope they get it good and hard. As for me, I can tell you I will abandon my province and my country to go elsewhere. There are still plenty of places in the world where this type of idiocy has no grip on politics.
