The paper used anonymous sources to substantiate their claim. The article was later cited by a variety of mainstream media outlets without questioning the reporting of the paper. His death was even brought up by Democrats during Trump’s impeachment trial in the Senate.
This wasn’t new information. Even CNN had fessed up over a week ago.
Everyone is fed up with the media deceptive reporting and I believe a reckoning is a coming.
This too then will effect Canada’s media from being totally deceiving in just following the mainstream media narrative.

At this rate any day now the NYT will express doubt over the nature of Jeffrey Epstein’s death.

As so many have pointed out, if it hadn’t been for TDS, most of us wouldn’t realize the extent and depth of media corruption, from the Russian hoax to the fine people hoax……It even reaches the level of pathological. It has crept into everything. The Dems shamelessly presented fabricated, deceptively edited “evidence” in their clown show, oops, show trial, not to mention twice removed hearsay. There was nothing that would meet the standards of evidence required in a normal civil or criminal trial.
I hope we all know how the narrative is gamed, the strategies and the techniques. That said, you can’t give the public a pass. News consumers aren’t passive receptacles; they have agency. We have to face the reality that many people, across the political spectrum, demand and/or are satisfied with lies, even baldfaced lies.
As for the Sicknick story, you have to know that, had it been true, federal law enforcement would have pulled out all the stops. The story would be the top news story for many days to weeks. The autopsy results would have been in our face. There would have been a massive public information campaign, pleading for witnesses to come forward, and manhunt. It would have been Timothy McVeigh redux.
As the saying goes, ‘lie is way around the world before the truth gets its shoes on’.
The way it works, the mass media cartel will throw bullshit out and the reader will take it without skeptic’s view.
That the bullshit is revealed for what it is later, does not matter anymore.

I remember early reports saying the officer had gone back to his precinct and then complained of not feeling well and collapsing. This certainly is not the reaction of someone who had their head stove in with a fire extinguisher. The whole “Blunt Force Trauma” story seems to have sprung full-formed from the brow of the NYT editorial staff.
Fire extinguisher story: Can you imagine a bunch of Boomers surrounding a policeman and beating him with a fire extinguisher. Fire extinguishers make subpar cudgels. It was laughable on its face. That said, I have seen video of a protestor throwing a fire extinguisher off a terrace in the direction of helmeted policemen. Our sloppy media may have conflated these two stories, a common technique.

There are two types of brain injury caused by blunt force trauma.
1. concussion – brain shaking where the brain impacts the skull resulting in impaired neurological function.
2. compression – when the brain shaking results in a hemorrhage, the bleeding slowly builds up pressure on the brain to the point of causing death. The victim usually displays no symptoms at first and feels fine.

But that being so, neither of these was the cause of death, they would have been clearly evident in an autopsy.
The New York Times has not had honest reporting in years.
