All you could do was watch them doing it because they should have known better. These are guys standing around nudging each other to see what was happening and knew the outcome would be funny.

Some of the older hopper cars used on the RR have just enough clearance to clear the rail. If one of them had been in that string of cars it would have snagged the stupid ass and turned him into ground hamburger. In that event the best outcome would be a quick death if he was lucky.
