The Deplorables

Shock poll: Trump ‘Patriot Party’ would win almost quarter of voters, drop GOP to third place.

hypothetical “Patriot Party” led by former President Donald Trump would win the support of almost a quarter — 23% — of the electorate, bumping the GOP down to third place with just 17%, according to a new Just the News poll with Scott Rasmussen.

The startling survey result comes amid reports that Senate Republican support for convicting Trump in an impeachment trial is fast eroding.

Not shocking to anyone paying attention.

  1. Trump Supporters need to take over the Republican Party, otherwise the vote will just be split

    1. I think that is the best way forward, as well. Primary the back stabbers and kick out the Never Trumpers. Then change the party name if that’s necessary.

    2. We can’t assume things happen in a vacuum. A Trump party, running only at POTUS level, could attract many votes.
As for third parties eroding support, people said that about the Tea Party, and look how they did in a midterm election.

  2. A very bad idea. The GOP is in need of a purge and right smartly. Getting rid of the Romneys, Cheneys and the Jeff Flakes of the party is a damn good start.
Then work your way up from there.

    1. Exactly. The math just isn’t there for a third party. Like you state, we need to purge the RINOs and make the MAGA agenda the party platform going forward. Trump got more votes than any Republican in history. Plus he increased our percentages among Latinos and African-Americans like nobody in 60 years. Some squish strategy is not going to work. Just look at McCain and Romney. Both pathetic losers who ran on the squish platform. It’s a recipe for electoral extinction.

  3. Not paying attention is all the GOP and democratic koolaid drinkers as well as 2/3 of the FoxNews talking heads that have ignored Trumps expansion of the GOP tent with all the off white voters.
Through a new party I believe many more will be lured away from the Dems.

  4. Was muling over possible post-presidential Trump projects.
Came up with a name for a new party called Patriot Party.
    Thought I was being clever.
I must confess however that this name is inevitable if there is a new party. There can be no other name.

    1. If they actually followed the Constitution rather than say they are, President Trump would be cleaning house and these politicians would be in the courts and in jail.
But currently, being a politician gives you a exemption from laws.
Trudeau is a hell of a good example of politicians that have immunity from any wrong doing.

President Trump will have to pull a rabbit out of his butt before they wipe him off the face of the planet soon.

  5. Stupid is as stupid does?

Trump is smart enough to not rerun. He experienced + concluded in real time that he and other real conservatives will never be elected ever again.
Only an idiot would assess he/she has even a remote chance. Not under the current conditions.

The only thing I see is the balkanization of the USA.

    ———————————–

Heck; no different up here. Maxime Bernier is a real conservative however most who think they are conservatives (CPC) think he’s a “distraction” & will hope for Pete Poilievre to ve next CPC leader but Pete is also a liberal….

    Can anyone think critically?

    Waste of post.

    1. I understand he had no chance in 2016 either. Two years, let alone four is an eternity in politics.

      1. But this time they will make certain he has no chance. They’ve learned their lesson. They thought he had no chance in 2016. Then they thought he would lose in a landslide in 2020, and just to make sure they gamed the system, and just barely kept him out. They won’t make the mistake of underestimating him again. Every underhanded tactic they used in 2020 will be used again, along with anything else they can think of.

  6. They just can’t help but keep exposing themselves as enemies, without thinking of possible future outcomes or consequences.

  7. I wonder how much total human suffering the American two party system is responsible for? How good could society have been otherwise? We’ll never know.

    1. Right … if you mean the “suffering” of: work hard, be frugal, invest in what has value, and live comfortably … yeah, America is “guilty” of that kind of “suffering”

    2. Gee, let me see now.
Hurricane in Haiti-Yanks for on the scene
      Sunami-Yanks first on scene
Multitude of natural disasters-Yanks first on scene

      Did I miss ANY?

    1. And the GOPe got us 8-years of Obama.

And the GOPe may have just gotten us 6.5 years of Comrade Harris

  8. Hey Kate!

Your category name is “The Deporables,” not “The Deplorables.  Just thought you’d like to know.

  9. Is this the same Rasmussen who predicted that something like 30% of the Blacks were going to vote for Trump in 2020?

    1. Sadly … thanks to the US Supreme Court … we shall never know whether that actually happened or not

  10. Naturally, GOP Senate members’ support for impeaching Trump is ‘fast eroding’. These GOPers have become very aware that The People voted for Trump – and will vote out any GOP member who turns against Trump.
[Aside from the fact that it would be constitutionally illegal to ‘impeach’ [remove from office] Trump who is now a private citizen.]

This is a show trial – meant to display, somehow, the ‘virtue-signaling’ of the Oligarchy. But the Oligarchy/Democrats have to be very careful – because the facts are: 74 million voted for Trump – and these People can’t be dismissed as ‘deplorables’. Or somehow shown that they ‘lack virtue’ because of their support for Trump.

  11. Every word out of Mitt Romney’s purdy Little GOPe mouth … seals the deal that I will NEVER vote Republican ever again. And if that ensures the destruction of America … then that is on the Deep State, swampy, GOPes. They better LISTEN to their constituency and behave accordingly … or wither away.

    Trump 2024

    1. Oh … and F#&$*%+#&Kkkkkkkk you Utah Voters! You HAD a conservative option.

Stop doing what the magic underwear brigade orders you to do.

  12. Yup.

This is Trump’s “pull in case of emergency” option.

And don’t think for a minute he won’t use it if pushed.

  13. There is no difference between the Swamp Parties. A New Party of, by, and for The People starting off as coming in second is a great start. Otherwise a Swamp UniParty crook will always win the Presidency.

  14. Welcome to Canada! If the Republicans go this divided way, you, like we Canadian conservatives, will be usually “out of office ….. forever”. A Trump party would divide and conquer Republicans. Oh, how the Democrats would wish for that scenario!

Actually, the Demoncrats need to split off their crazy far-lefts before 2022. Do you really want two lefty parties and one elite Republican party?

President Biden has, on his day in office, issued tragic and dangerous EOs that will cost American, and most certainly Canada, greatly in the long run.

I wish my American friends (and family) all the best in sorting this out. You have sort-of elected a senile man who will sign anything. Good luck with that! None of this will end well for North America and other ridiculous western economies.

    1. We have one Party in DC. The two Swamp Parties often talk differently, but apparently ‘walk’ the same.
Both halves of the DC UniParty were/are against DJT and The People.
We either have to kick most DC GOP out and replace them with patriots, or have a new Party.
I think the ‘threat’ of a new Party, might get many RINOs in line.
“; when the government fears The People, you have Liberty.”

  15. When the Republican Party started, it was a “third Party”, and it was a patriots’ Party.
Now the GOP is anti-patriot Swamp.
We ‘fixed’ DC and therefore our Republic once with a third Party. We should do it again.

  16. The GOP is a long held institution with a well organized ‘old boys’ network. Taking it over is arguably harder than starting a new party.

Remember, most of the sheep who will formerly mindlessly pulled the lever for “the lesser evil” will follow the energized patriots. They will not stick with Mitch McConnels of the GOP if that is the choice.

    1. His purpose was to get elected, and then resign in short order. The radicals have taken over the Dem party, but they’re smart enough to know getting one of them elected is unlikely. So Biden was presented as a moderate (instead of just a puppet) with the idea he would do as he was told and then step down to make way for Kamala. They could have had Tulsi Gabbard who is even more moderate and could well have won without cheating, but she is young and strong willed, no way would she step aside for a radical. In fact, if she had won, she may well have restored normal politics to the US, so she was totally rejected by the new, radical Democrat establishment.

Now they’re pursuing a scorched earth policy in order to ensure they hold power forever. Trump splitting the vote would only help them achieve that end.

  17. Shock poll..Elections no longer matter.
So who cares what happens to the GOP?
They could all stop their evil ways and reform their stealing and get 99% of the electorate on side..Will not matter a damn.
For those who control the ballot will perform just as we saw in November.
    The ballot box is defunct.
The Congress made that decision 6th January 2012.
Now they get to reap what they have sown.
The genie will not go back in its bottle.
When you corrupt the institutions to gain power, you loose the protections those institutions provided.
Rules for thee but none for me,is the current law of the land.

    1. John Robertson, have you read or skimmed the contents of the very first bill out of congress? It is designed to institutionalize perma-fraud in elections.

      1. MND,that is the Democrats open confession.
Yes we stole it and for treason to prosper ,then none will dare call it treason..so we will now entrench the corruption in law.
Never mind that Constitution Thingy or States Rights.
Like I said, they killed the Ballot Box.
The Uni-Party did so most blatantly.
        Defiantly even.
Their choice, they have sown the seeds of what will follow.
The Feds have swollen to the bursting point, they believe they can Rule the United States.
        Good Luck with that.

  18. Polls, and news reporting is not about information.
Their goal now is to get reactions.
Who is this “news” going to upset the most and who will be emboldened by it?

  19. A third party will have a chance to pull in centrist Democrats after the economic upheaval coming down the pike from Biden’s policies.
Shutting down fracking, stopping all mining and oil extraction and exploration on federal lands. Closing oil pipelines, increasing government regulation on manufacturing. 30 to 40% of small businesses permanently gone will have ripple effects on suppliers, retail, landlords, tax bases for local communities.

So we can expect higher gas prices, shrinking availability of getting financing, costs of carbon offsets, higher demand for services due to increased immigration. He will be clamping down on mining so higher costs for everything.

My friends in finance are quietly telling their clients to get out of the stock market and investments in US products.

Biden’s answer for all of this is higher taxes. Because he believes we can tax our way out of a recession/depression.

  20. Sad part is, when any “conservative vote” splits, the loons and socialists win. Need to reform or brand, or, whatever the free enterprise option/party. Otherwise, done. The nut bars will win by default/split. Classic tactic of left, divide conquer, we stay in power. Sad, but true.

    My opinion.

    1. Foothills,I would suggest the “conservative Vote” is already fragmented by the CINO’s who have seized the party organization.
We have not seen conservative candidates in decades.
The old hold your nose and vote for the lesser evil has fragmented us very effectively.
The actions of the Republicans show their true allegiance.
The Constitution and the citizens..they don’t need them, they have Dominion.
Here we vote conservative and get NDP results.
      Or at best liberal Lite.
      What is being conserved?

Besides the placeholders pensions that is.

  21. If the new party uses the constitution as the law of the land and courts start ruling according to it then there might be hope. If not, there is no point in another party. The US needs a new two party system. A strict constitution adhering party on one side and then those that don’t on the other. Cause right now they do not have that, no matter what each side says. Sure, one side adheres to it more than the other but that isn’t good enough.

  22. In 82 the WCC ran candidates in the Saskatchewan province.
Both the NDP and Grant Devines conservatives became very paranoid as the WCC was attracting people from both camps.
“Splitting the vote” was claimed. Those of us who supported the WCC agreed.
“Like a lazar beam through horse sh-t!”
The Devine conservatives demonstrated by their own actions that they preferred to be pushed and opposed by by the NDP left, than by a new centre right party.
They ,the cons, got 4 more years…and their pensions…and then lost anyhow.

What’s the most talked about topic today in Western Canada….Wexit and discontent.

    What’s the definition of insanity?

  23. Tyrants on both sides are the only ones scared of having to court the likes of a “Patriot” party in order to gain a majority to govern….responsibly.
    The people gain.

  24. If it were up to me, I would try ‘primarying’ them first; if enough new people could be elected the direction and priorities of the Republican Party could be changed to reflect the will of the people. If that doesn’t work, THEN form a new party.

Yes, you’ll split the vote. Yes, the Democrats will win…but they will anyway, now that you’ve granted them control of both houses and legitimized their overt fraud (the best you can hope for is to punish the Republicans for their cowardice). The next step after that, sadly, is secession.

    1. Chewing gum and walking can be done at the same time Fred.
Primary Liz and Mitch and run a Patriot candidate at the same time.

  25. A third party is a very real threat to both the Democrats and the Republicans. With the announcement today of the Biden proposed gun registration and gun tax the cat is now out of the bag. The Democrats have revealed themselves as the Nazis that they are. Gun tax and a registration c/w photograph and fingerprints is the first step to confiscation. This is going to wake up a lot of Democrat voters that have been as asleep at the wheel as the Republicans were. A third party that stands for and defends the Constitution will draw enough votes away from both parties and make them redundant. Americans value their right to keep and bear arms far more than their political masters understand. Whether it is the Minuteman Party or the Patriot party makes not one whit of difference. Americans know that the only thing that makes them different from the rest of the world is their Constitution, and that includes the 1st and 2nd Amendments. A $200.00 tax per gun and a Federal registration file will not sit well with the 75+ million that voted for Trump and the 25 to 40 million Democrats that now own guns. The idiot fringe of the Democratic party advocating to defund the police are not now or ever will be willing to be unarmed. That you can take to the bank.

  26. Hopefully the Democrats will turn on each other in their lust for power ie the tribe against the Pelosi Shumer show. Heck if it were not for Martin and Chrétien’s camps airing each other’s dirty laundry in public we probably wouldn’t have had a Conservative party elected.

  27. Voting only matters in honorable countries where the rule of law is upheld. Voting patterns are insignificant in criminal oligarchies. Ask Putin. Or Biden.
