  3. The Civil War was much more stupid, but America-in-Covid is pretty awful. Not much better in Canada, although we can still walk outside in BC and most businesses are open with rules, for now. Small gathering orders have ruined our social lives.

    1. I would agree with your last sentence. Too much contradiction out there. Classic experts opinion when asked, the answer is sometimes “well…yes and no”.

They’ve been trying to shut down our freedom of travel and gathering and use of resources for a long time. “Covid” is the latest, and right now seems to be the most successful, attempt. “Global Warming” didn’t quite do the trick, though it did have some success at curtailing industry and limiting what we used.
    They want us to stop using resources like gas and wood and water. They want us to stop travelling. They want us to stop eating what we like ( I personally will have a hard time living life if I have to give up wings and beer). They want us to stop having nice sizeable homes on suburban lots. They don’t want to let us take the occasional trip overseas every few years. Have you seen the latest “advisories” from “health officials” that we, especially men, shouldn’t drink more than one drink a day? (Seriously, ???!!!!???)
    But …. THEY will not live according to these restrictions and rules. They proved that with Global Warming. They flew everywhere on their private jets, they used up way more fossil fuels in one week than we could use up in a lifetime, and they restricted themselves of nothing. It’s the same with CoVid restrictions. They ignore them and do what they please, but we will get tasered and imprisoned and fined for taking our mask off in the wrong place. We will get reported by our neighbors if we go for a walk. But they’ll fly overseas several times a month. And enjoy their parties and their multiple houses and their private jets.
    If Covid doesn’t quite work, if we see through this and fight back enough, legally, with a few people in power who fight for our freedom, what will they try next? I’ve guessed before: aliens. But maybe it might be another phantom menace. Who knows. There’s always another one out there.

    2. Ann, your posts are always worth reading, even when you are a little fatalistic. As to your query of, “what will they try next”, they know that fear is the great motivator, so they will try what ever they think will work. You are correct of course, they want to curtail our use of the planet’s resources so they can preserve them for themselves and their descendants. Of course, they only expect us to change our lives, so they don’t need to change theirs. We don’t matter, except as a workforce to provide for their pleasures, and there are too many of us, and need to be culled back. Of course their lifestyles include all kinds of debased pastimes, that they also wish to continue. Trump IS in the way of the great reset, and that is the cause of their concern.

      1. I admire optomism, GerryK :-). I admit to feeling a bit beaten down these days after what happened in my leftist-dominated State in the November election. Overnight I saw the optimism and momentum and happy hum of exuberant living and hope building, something we who live outside the main cities only experienced for a few short years, just … die.

        1. I spoke with my elderly aunt on Vancouver Island earlier this evening. She bought into the whole mask wearing horse puckey and believes it’s all about “safety”. She can’t see that the whole issue is about complete political control and manipulating the population.

      There is no cure for stupid.
      Either you drive the dangerously stupid out of your community or you lose that community.
      We have mostly lost,one or two areas have won,by making the clueless and useless feel so unwelcome that they flee to the nearest city as soon as they can.

      Where the concentrated votes of the useless and clueless has ruled the country.

      This is why we need a new country.
      A place to stand.
      A place to drive the parasites out of.
      A haven to weather the coming storm.
      For idiocy has consequences,history has an endless list of societies that lapsed into stupid and died.
      We,having a luxurious standard of living based on technological skills,are abandoning technology in favour of magical wishing(Some call it magical thinking).

      It would be real nice to buck tradition,learn from history and fort up enough to let the coming collapse flow around us.

      Oh well .That too has seldom worked.

  5. In the interests of full, open, and transparent accounting is there a journalist left in Canada or the USA who could establish how many of the reported deaths attributed to “Covid” were subject to DNR ( do not resuscitate ) orders prior to the outbreak.

    1. DHL, you mean how many of the non institutional deaths (166) had comorbiditys, that were part of the equation or the whole damn cause?

  6. In Vancouver the other day I took a long 90 minute walk along Spanish Banks. Up ahead was a small group of three people (probably a family group) with their backs to the magnificent water and mountain views. They asked a passer by, a Karen, if she would take a pic on one of their cell phones. Karen held up both gloved hands leading me to wonder if she had just got out of the burn unit or something. They were too far away for me to catch the full conversation but the word COVID rang out loud and depressingly clear.

    I approached the three and told them that I have zero fear of the virus and would be happy to take their pic, which I did … twice to be on the safe side. Karen, evidently thought she might die from touching the phone.

    BUT even more depressing: they thanked me but gave zero affirmation on my obligatory rant about the massive stupidity and hysteria.

  7. I guess the sunshine has stopped killing viruses now. And a breeze will carry aerosols that are going to kill everyone, like in some biological horror movie. Of course, if you are outside you are not in an old folks home, so those people are safe from you. And the fact that wearing a mask was something encouraged when people had symptoms, and might actually not have the brains to cover their mouth and nose when they sneeze or cough, means nothing to the Karens.

    Tired, I am just tired of the lies and bullsh*t already. It. is. just. like. a. flu. In fact, it is less deadly than the damn flu as influenza affects a broader spectrum of ages, while for some reason covid only manages to push those closer to death to die. And no, I don’t want my Mom to die. Sorry folks, my grandmothers are both gone, and they both lived well past eighty. They probably would laugh at the pantywastes that some of these people have become.

    So, everyone can hide indoors until no one dies, right? That’s going to work, just like it did in April and May, just 2 weeks to flatten the curve and all that sh*t.

  10. Two flights scheduled to land at Vancouver Intl Airport in the next hour. One from Hong Kong the other from Taipei. Yesterday it was two flights – one from Shanghai China the other from Xiangyang China.
    All this while they issue summons to pastors in Steinbach. They’re playing a sick joke on all of us.

      1. I saw that this past May. I returned from the house in B. C. I inherited and changed planes in Vancouver. Just as my plane back to Edmonton had become airborne, I saw a China Southern Airlines plane taxiing along the tarmac and it appeared to be carrying passengers.

        This was the same time we were assured that all foreign traffic to Canada had been suspended. The government lying to us? Perish the thought!

    2. If you’ve seen done of the latest images from Wuhan it’s over in China. They’ve all been vaccinated or are immune or something. It’s over for them and they won big time. Meanwhile we have the finance minister openly talking about savings confiscation. It’s over for us. Done. Over.

    I’m back at the house I inherited. I had to change planes in Calgary and, after I disembarked, my mask came off. Sure enough, it didn’t take long before I was karened yet again, this time by two of the passengers, both of whom were seniors. (What is it about little old ladies that they think they have the right to act as a moral authority over me?)

    I simply grunted and then ignored them. They seemed miffed at my lack of response. What was I supposed to do? Act all ashamed that I should be so “naked”? Thank them for their tongue-lashing?

    Now that I’m back in town, I see one reason why Horgan called his last election. He now can act like the bully he actually is and everybody and his dog has to wear a mask whenever they enter a store or office.

    1. BC is losing control bigly. Henry is a fraud but like Cuomo will probably receive awards for a terrible job done. Horgan meanwhile is a simpleton about to get railroaded by schemers like Dix.

  15. My wife and I see this idiocy first hand every time we take a walk here in small town rural MB. Terrorized, zombie eyes scurrying out into the middle of the road and back again when once our maskless faces have passed by. I suspect when these Virus vigilantes get back to the safety of their home, they stare out the window, mask on, phone in hand, hoping to see something they can rat out on Pallister’s snitch line. After all, squealing on your friends and neighbors, is the Reich thing to do.

  16. My annual Christmas display this year involves four foot tall illuminated figurines of Santa and Mrs. Claus, with facemasks on. Oh, and don’t forget the lasers and the mirrrorball.
