Personal Thoughts

This past month I went on vacation and drove across America: 2 weeks actual holiday time and then one week working remotely in each of Northern Florida and Metro Houston, Texas. I visited 21 states, spoke personally to dozens of people every day, and got an on-the-ground appreciation for how Americans were coping with Covid-19 and also a strong sense for how things were politically in each area I visited.  I wanted to take a moment to share some thoughts on what I learned.

  • The Trump-Pence signs outnumbered the Biden-Harris signs by at least 10 to 1.
  • In several places there were individual vehicles or caravans of vehicles adorned with Trump 2020 flags.  Never once was there such cheering for Biden.
  • This election is not about Trump vs. Biden.  It’s Trump vs. Not Trump.  If the Democrats were running a coat rack as their presidential candidate, it would make no difference.
  • From what I saw, I simply don’t believe the polls.  Florida and Texas are up for grabs by the Democrats?  I don’t believe it.
  • The challenges for Trump this election are enormous.  Not only is he battling the Democrats, the Woke Left, and their Antifa street thugs, but it seems clear that the Deep State police & spy agencies of America have turned against him and the democratic will of the American people.  It will be fascinating to see if he can defeat these monstrous (and illegal) forces.

Who knows what will transpire today and in the coming weeks but here are some predictions depending on the outcome:

  1. If Biden wins with a small or large margin, there will be no violence.
  2. If Trump wins with a large majority, there will be violence in the “usual places” but ultimately there will be acceptance by the vast majority of Americans.
  3. If Trump wins with a narrow margin, the blue cities of the U.S. will go up in flames.

If Biden is declared President, here are some predictions about 2021:

  • The Department of Defense will surreptitiously be turned into the Department of Offense and one or more wars will be concocted by the Democrats/Media/Deep State.
  • The Woke Left will get an injection of power and money unlike we’ve never seen before.
  • Free Speech, already tamped down to a great degree, will almost disappear.
  • An institutionalized racial divide will occur stronger than ever before.
  • Covid-19 will be used to quarantine and forcibly unemploy many millions of people, making them dependent on the state.
  • China will be officially welcomed again and U.S. manufacturers and energy producers deliberately harmed.
  • Biden will last no more than 12 months as President before he is forced to resign.

Just putting this out there for debate & discussion.  Stay safe, everyone!

  1. Perspective is hard to come by here in the People’s Republic of N.CA, and is much appreciated. Thanks Robert. Otherwise, I might just finally need some “don’t be sad pills”. Here on my lilywhite (and Asian) cul de sac filled with BLM placards and messages claiming my neighbors “believe in science” … there are NO Trump banners, flags, or even a Trump hairdo pencil eraser. If I were to let my banner fly … the first arson attempt on my home would come within 24hr. So, I am buoyed by the knowledge that the majority of my fellow Americans are saner than the jetsam and flotsam that have invaded my formerly Red-Blue State.

    1. Kenji, I often wondered how you managed to keep your head above that cesspool of socialism in which you live. Now that you’ve described the self-preservation measures you have taken, it has become clear. I do hope you and yours remain safe – and anonymous – from the socialist hordes.

  2. If Trump loses it will all fall squarely on one thing and one thing alone – COVID. This economy was banging on all cylinders for months/years until March came around. I’m not sure how far down the conspiracy hole I want to go, but the moment the lockdowns began it gave the Trump opposition the fuel they needed to start their fire to push him out of the White House. I’m not sure the WH response to COVID could have been worse, or even better, but the mess it created leaves enough doubt for the Dem worms to push through.

    1. Rich, an ancillary theory I have, which kind of goes against one of my points above, is that once the election is over and Biden has won, the Democrat governors and mayors will suddenly declare victory over Covid and things will instantly return to normal.

      1. Robert-
Conrad Black made the same prediction on Oct.23rd:

“But in around 10 days, the U.S. election will be over, and whatever the result, the rationale for the Democratic anti-Trump press (faithfully parroted by the Canadian media) to incite public hysteria will be over. The American media will cease to hammer public sensibilities with gruesome formulations about “grim milestones,” and other sombre fatuities.”

  3. Kenji, one clear lesson from my journey is that Americans outside of California are VERY different than those within Emperor Newsom’s kingdom. As to your comment about possible violence, it’s not entirely by accident that I’ve situated myself in San Diego for this week rather than returning to SF. It just seems saner down here and there’s a huge military presence should anything get out of hand. Between this election and Covid, I’ve observed that San Franciscans specifically, and SF Bay residents more generally, are somewhat unhinged and ready-to-lose-it at any moment. 🙁

    1. SD is beautiful … and still has an “Orange County” vibe through many areas, i.e. conservative. Be safe … and may we both be ECSTATIC tonight!!

  4. Thanks Robert for the post.

The one really eye-opening thing (for me) about the Trump presidency is nature of America and war. Trump has moved the US away from the middle-east while engaging in middle-eastern diplomacy. He has worked to end wars while balancing that against the need to maintain the US military. Drawing down Germany while bolstering other, more honorable allies such as Poland. Killing real terrorists while avoiding drone strikes on wedding parties.

His support for veterans is remarkable in the face of gross Obama neglect.

It’s quite a tight-rope that Trump has had to walk, all while the Mandarins of the deep state and his legion of enemies shoot their poison darts at him.

Let’s hope for four more years the Trump agenda before the party of war takes power again.

  5. A Biden victory would be disappointing but not surprising given the ascendancy of nihilism, green theocracy, and socialism. It would mean that they are following Canada’s lead on the road to serfdom. The Constitution will be shredded further as Dems are on track to: stack the Supreme Court so as to ensure a leftist majority if they take the Senate ; eviscerate the First and Second Amendments; eliminate the electoral College so as to ensure popular democracy rather than federalism; open borders to welfare state rent seeking hoards and fund them; pursue green theocracy by californicating the energy industry; and likely giving the Chicoms the nod to take out Taiwan so that they can seriously defund the military by redirecting the funding to providing “Medicare for all”. Essentially, the Dems will emulate Canada’s left in making their future electoral success virtually guaranteed.

What will happen regardless of who wins tonight is that the US has a date with a monetary reset due to being thoroughly indebted with no hope of repayment. Good times ahead – not.

  6. The pro-Trump folks form parades and caravans.

The pro-Biden folks storm the cities and burn them down.

That’s why you didn’t see any Biden caravans.

Yeah, we’re in for a bumpy ride no matter how things turn out.

  7. Thanks for that post Robert,
My first thought and maybe biggest concern if Biden would win the Presidency would be,,, whether the USA would change positions on 5G and allow Huawei to operate. If Biden already has connections with the ChiComs, what amount of money would it take to buy off Biden??? 50mil??? 100mil??? 300mil???
I think the ChiComs would paid what ever, to be in the U.S. phone system.
