    I am sure you noticed how strange the EPL table looks right now.
    The first eight are Everton, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Leicester City, Leeds United, Southampton, Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton.
    Outside of Liverpool, only Leicester City and Wolverhampton (Europa League) has even played in European competition in recent years, let alone Leeds which just got promoted after a long stay in League Championship.
    So Liverpool’s terrible start isn’t so terrible any more. I want to say the Villa fiasco was a ridiculous outlier. They won the last two matches 4-2 and 3-0 handily, er, VAR aside. Does it mean now Liverpool has to win by 3 goals to win?
    Re Everton, the rules explicitly state that offside wipes out everything, except dangerous play. And there should be an explicit rule that states you cannot be offside with a part of your body not allowed to strike the ball.
    Re Sheffield, how can you foul when you win the ball cleanly, and then the opponent fall over you? And don’t the rules say a player is not offside if he is not involved in the scoring play at all?

OldBruin, as a Spurs fan we have been on the wrong end of a few VAR decisions (handballs in particular) so far this season but as per usual, the problem isn’t with VAR, it’s with the cretins who are in charge of drafting the rules or those who then interpret them (ditto MotoGP re: Johann Zarco in Styria – If you haven’ seen that crash you really should).

        If you start entering in the Googles search bar “can you…”, it autofills mostly with queries on freezing foods. But, advance just one more letter and enter “can you c…” and the result “can you change your vote” is top and center.

    1. Ottawa is poised to extend the mask mandate to January (we’ll be lucky if it stops then.) Many peopke have gotten fines for not wearing a mask or wearing it incorrectly. Counsellors are totally ignoring mask negatives — like bacteria– and the fact that they really do little to reduce transmission. Masks are helpful if someone is coughing, and a mask in an old folks home might be appropriate, but the rest is just foolish. I feel very bad for those who must wear a mask all day.

      1. Here is some more mask stupidity. I visited my cardiologist for a stress test last week wearing my homemade, cotton mask (Gadsden Flag, Live Free or Die). I was told to remove it and was given one of those cheap Chinese pieces of crap to wear because, I was told, it is a better mask; the cloth masks don’t do a good job. I had to wear it during my stress test (!) and was told to breathe through my nose because, you know, particles. Are you kidding me?! The hell with that nonsense! Not only that, when I left the office, the nurse told me not to throw out the mask because it is good for a few days! The stupidity perpetuated by so-called health professionals.

Y’know..how a mother of a daughter who’s a minor telling Hunter Biden to stay the hell away from her daughter or the next time she’ll phone the cops. And then there’s Mommy (Jill Biden) telling her own son that he’s inappropriate around children and you have Hunter, Joe and Uncle Jimmy trying to get together so they can get the story straight just so they can stick it to the mother of the daughter.

    Look at how desperate and distraught Hunter is as he was forbidden to be alone with his 14 year old niece, seems like he is head over heels. Jill threatened to call the cops. Well, Rudy did call the cops and they claimed it was Russian disinformation and called the FBI.

    Remember, it’s Republicans who have sex with their underage cousins, people. Get it straight. We know this from Borat.

    Imagine what Borat could do with a scenario like this. It’s easy to imagine, he would just change the political party and turn it into one of Trump’s kids.

A lot of outrage over this, calls for Wray’s firing etc., etc., etc. What is missing in the outrage is that the Democratic back room boys knew all about this and if they didn’t then there is a disconnect as wide as the Pacific Ocean. You can bet when Hilary and the DNC decided to go after Trump every stone in his background was overturned and when they found nothing they dreamed up the Russia, Russia Russia hoax. When Obama was nominated where was the investigation into his background, all conveniently ‘locked’ away. Biden has been around politics for 47 years, so the Democratic bigwigs knew everything about him and I mean everything, so why did they thrust him into the nomination when it was evident that he was in over his head. Outrage be damned the Democratic party, every damned one that has held a position of power, should be ousted from Washington. They should be set adrift in the North Atlantic in December in a rowboat with their accomplices the media with nothing but toothpicks for oars.

So the U.S. has a population of 331 million and a claimed 225,000 deaths. Quebec has a population of 8.51 million and 6,153 deaths. There is 38.9 times as many people in the U.S. 6153 x 38.9 = 239,350 dead. Hmmm. But we are doing great in Canada.
