        1. It has not been proven to work. Yes, there may be promise, studies are on-going on these and other treatments. Anyone who tells you this cocktail is a proven treatment is doesn’t understand how treatments are evaluated. Dr. Zelenko has not published any data so we have no idea if his treatment really works or not. The original French study on the use of these drugs was small and deeply flawed, and without presenting evidence we have no reason to trust Dr. Zelenko’s claims. Hope I’m wrong, but there may no shortcuts here.

          In case I’ve missed it, has Dr. Zelenko posted any results? I know he did a podcast, but that’s not a “result.” I would like to know the demographics of his patients. If they were elderly, he’s a hero. If they are under 30, then his treatment may have no effect whatever because they might all have recovered anyway.

          1. It has been proven to work; just the medical establishment have invested so much in it not working. I note the horrible Dr. Fauci had to admit to its efficacy a day or so ago.

            You are talking of over a month or more ago; plenty of people have been using it now. The stupid governeor of micichigan (was it?) had to backtrack on her supposed ban (not sure she can actually do that) and request supplies.

            Again, this is an anecdote, not a study. Nothing in his story can be independently verified. This is why careful study is needed: to separate the signal from the noise.

            The upshot here is: stay home if possible, be careful if you have to go out. There may not be a treatment at this time.

If you got the virus and refused that treatment because “studies” (though there are some) then you’re an ass as well as a moron.       A better bet is convalescent serum. Find someone who has recovered, get the plasma or serum, inject.

            and this little tidbit
            “COVID-19 survivors appear to start increasing the titer of antibody around day 28; therefore, suitable donors will not be selected unless they have had a documented infection that began 28 days before they can donate plasma” Plus they have to have fully recovered from the disease for 14 days. So right now there is an issue with finding enough suitable donors.

            Another report says, ” This suggests that antibody declines with time and/or that few patients make high-titer responses.” Another report says “You don’t want to take plasma from someone who had a mediocre immune response. That wouldn’t be helpful,” said Dr. Julie Ledgerwood of the National Institutes of Health.”

            Am I saying we should not try this approach? Absolutely not. Lots of approaches are required and are being advanced. I will commend Trump for telling the CDC, FDA, etc. to really fast track their trials and trial them in larger numbers than academically recommended.. To belittle any of them as being “unproven”, “too small a sample”, “not peer reviewed” is a bad strategy.

            Given a choice between hydroxychloroquine and nothing, I would take it in a second, even if they told me there was a only 10% chance it would work. Many SDA readers have had serious illnesses and been treated with drugs that have nasty side effects. If they didn’t take them, and suffer the side effects they’d be dead. In the upcoming months many more people will have to make the same decision. They can’t wait for a full and complete peer review.

          2. You are grasping at straws real hard. The mechanism by which the serum could work is very well understand. I don’t think that is not the case for chloroquinone, which is an anti-malarial.

    1. Again, it’s not demonstrated to work and is risky. A great way to get Boris killed. Convalescent serum is a better bet.
