More info on the Biltmore Estate.
The Landscape Architect of the Biltmore Estate had a successful career, see list of his other accomplished works within this link:
If you’ve ever been to “The British Properties” in Vancouver B.C. or “Mount Royal Park” inaugurated in 1876, in Montreal, you’ve visited an Olmstead masterpiece of landscape architecture. I visited the latter when I lived there. It is beautiful.
I’ve lived near Asheville for almost 40 years and still haven’t visited. Everyone says I should.
There were many more YouTube’s available on this subject.
Nice to visit in person though. I would like to see this place. The quality of things then was superior to stuff nowadays. I learned that this was modeled after a Chateaux in the Loire Valley in France. The architecture is splendid.
