  1. The Liberal Party’s CBC is spending all day covering Super Tuesday in the States. Apparently nothing is happening here in Sunny Ways Canada. They are especially excited about how wonderful diversity is playing in the process, because diversity has been so successful in Canada.

      My daughter married well! To a wonderful hard-working man who is a “half-breed” (As Cher sang) White man/Native man … who “looks” whiter than me. He has all the privilege of a “white” man … and all the privilege of the “Red man”. The REAL question is … when will we just drop all this shit!? It’s so tiresome. And my NEW grandson is so thoroughly mixed race as to make any racial assignment utterly STUPID. My new grandson is BEAUTIFUL! The cutest little 6-week-old ever! Whoever dares to put a racial label on him can eat sh*t.

      2. Congrats Kenji. My forlorn hope for one is getting dimmer by the day. We make do with our cat, who is black on top and white on the bottom. And as far as we know, he is already bilingual. I tried to claim trilingual for him, but Mrs. OB wasn’t sure that he still knows Feline.
        There is a streak of rooting for the underdog in me, and I have identified with the Irish for their struggles against the brutal rule of the British. (Funny thing, I didn’t feel that brutality in Hong Kong at all.) This is in spite of all the political misadventures the Irish have had in the last century. If my daughter gave me a grandkid, I would genuinely be a grandpa of an Irish (half, but who’s counting) baby.

I sat across the table from Jason Kenney when he was trolling for the leadership, I asked him “when you guys (Harpers conservatives) had a majority why did you not privatize this nest of vipers (cbc) that helped take your government out and give Canada this moron”, it was well you know the country would be up in arms and the backlash and bla bla, and I said “at best they have 6% market during hockey, most of the time it’s 3 to 4%”, and it was just more blah blah. This country pays for traitors, Cicero had a warning about this.

    2. At the time I agreed. I liked the approach of gradually reducing funding. True, not many watch CBC TV, but it was an important national symbol. Given all the htsteria sround cancelling the long form census and Duffy’s official address, it was clear that something more forceful regarding the CBC would have ended Conservative government. It ended anyway — Too bad — but at an earlier point there would have been hope of a another mandate. I really think Harper did most things right. The nightmare we have at the moment is Canada’s foolish choice. O’Toole can go after the CBC though, as Liberals are out of favour and everyone realizes we have more serious issues to deal with.

  8. Use the system against itself – go onto the web site of the Canadian HRC and submit a hate speech complaint against the author and CBC and its ombudsman.

    In the US by contrast we have:
    CBS – Communist Broadcast System
    NBC – National Bolshevik Corporation
    ABC – American Bolshevik Corporation
    CNN – Communist News Network
    MSNBC – More Slanted News By Communists

    Is that about right?

  11. I’d like to see a number of church denominations similarly sued. Many of the sermons that I heard, and which advocated “social justice” and the “social gospel”, could be construed as hate speech as well.

    Those comments were supported by quoting passages of Scripture that, apparently, advocated such policies.

    CBC Lawyer: Move to dismiss. Straight white people cannot suffer hate or racism.
    Ontario Superior Court Justice: As I was appointed due to my abilities to raise funds for the LPC – not my legal expertise, which I have none – I agree and dismiss the case with costs awarded.

  16. Is ageism equivalent to racism? A few years ago a coworker said “I wish all the Baby Boomers would just go away “. She was a Gen Xer, I think, who later became a VP. If she had said “I wish all the black or Jewish people would just go away” that would be racist and for sure labelled as hate speech. “You’re an agist” just doesn’t seem to have the same connotation but I know more accomplished people who have lost their livelihood because they are over 55 than because of race or ethnicity. And, age has the same constitutional protection as race.

  17. How many of you recall Sept 04, 1984?? When Mulroney swept the floor with only 40 Liberal seats and 30 NDP as opposition?? The Liberals had lost 107 seats! That needs to happen again! Then we can deal with the CBC.
