Pet rescues – the new puppy mills. It’s a freaking business, not charity. Pets from the shithole world should have a 30 day quarantine. On day one they should have rabies and other common shots and if they are healthy 30 days later they can go home. I’m sure people would run quarantine facilities for $500 to 1,000 per mutt in the various cities.
Yes, only a stinky unbathed zoophile wants to ride with a flea bitten mangy mutt.
I’m not crazy about pets and “comfort” critters in the cabin either.
Ah me – a story from my misspent youth. Friends loved greyhounds – they’re almost the ideal home dog for an active young couple, shorthaired, virtually silent and love to play outdoors – and you can get them free in Florida once they can’t race anymore, the breeders give ’em away or kill them. So these two set-off to Florida in their car to get a couple greyhounds.
The mistake they made was to do it in the dead of winter. These dogs were crammed at least two-tier deep, several of them, in cages in a small travel trailer on the racetrack grounds. The stench was indescribable – and they had to drive them all the way back, three days in a VW Rabbit with the windows closed because it was miserably cold outside, and the dogs weren’t acclimatized to winter.
I got a laugh out of it – am I a bad person?

There is a solution!! A gunny sack, a rock and a 150 gallon cattle trough filled with water.
How can I get this video to pass on to a vet whom I know would appreciate it?
What bet this particular clinic has found itself the target of these “rescuers” who demand said clinic provide free care to these poor rescue animals, not caring that the clinic has to make enough money from each animal to pay the costs. As to the hazards to the local animals of having the rescues and all their viruses run around the waiting room – that’t least of the “rescuers” worry.

Laws are for other people. Leashes are for other dogs, not hers though. All we hear from the house is her, screaming at the dogs in the bush, and calling -other- people Aholes, because THEIR dogs aren’t on leashes……….
She’s has 7 rescue mutts by the by……….how many are too much in an urban home?
