After all, he had to know these images were out there. So the conclusion can only be that he was hoping they’d never show up in public. But that’s not how things work in the Age of the Internet. Ask a few US politicos caught in blackface during their salad days.

A more cynical hypothesis : certain people in the media did have the photos and used them as leverage to get the media bailout.
The serious aspect is that this is why a thorough vetting is important. Politicians, especially a Prime Minister, can be blackmailed by foreign and domestic interests if they have career ending evidence in their possession. The PM and his PMO have unbelievable power to pass laws and regulations if they have a majority. A “benign dictatorship” could turn malignant under those circumstances.
Can you imagine if a company like SNC or Bombardier or activists like environmentalists had leverage like this over a national leader? They could make that politician their puppet.
The media should have been on his case for his utter shallowness — but maybe they are too accustomed to shallowness to recognize the phenomenon. Meanwhile, intelligent Liberals chose to go along with the sham. Shame on them all.

Was listening to Global News Radio and other Talk stations on my drive this morning (GTA) and had to laugh at how the media are spinning this, calling it “dark makeup.” Plus, they managed to find Abdullah who is fine with the PM’s apology and it won’t change his vote. Of course it won’t.
As well, Global News Radio says Trudeau will be addressing the media from Winnipeg later today. Perhaps, he should address Canadians, not his MSM lapdogs. And, his address should be his resignation.

But the right thing to do now is to resign. Maybe one of these three incidents would be survivable, but this like the Titanic hit an iceberg and was then torpedoed by a German sub in a cat-5 hurricane.

I watched the so-called news conference. It was blatantly obvious that the questions were staged and the Gropers answers rehearsed – no uming and awing or staring blankly off into space. But what I found really obnoxious, was Trudeau after almost tearing up because he was so remorseful ended the interview and immediately started shaking hands and taking selfies. Yeah, did not take him long to move on – unless of course I experienced his b.s. a palooza differently.
My takeaway from this afternoon’s contrition and remorse speech is that “white privilege made me do it” is the woke, religious version of “the devil made me do it”.
