You cannot be a conservative and want one of the inmates from the clown car to be president. Your only alternative is that or President Trump. Therefore, ipso facto, you are a “fan” of Trump to the extent you want him to continue to be president, given the alternative.
You are not looking for a son-in-law, or a golf buddy, or a next door neighbor, or even someone in the neighborhood you nod hello to. For those, yeah, some personal quirks can irk you enough to disqualify him. For a president, you are looking for really important stuff, like is he the one most likely to save our (well, my) republic. For that, there is no question the answer is yes.

Cupp has a job to do and she is well paid to do it. The Dem candidate wannabes live in a bubble. They have no idea what makes them repulsive to normal people issue-wise and they’re all richer than normal so they have no idea how Normals live or what is important to them.
Think about this: Donald Trump has more children and grand children than all the Dem candidates combined including if you add S E Cupp and her Democrat guest interviewee. How do you think it comes across to Normals when these people say the anti-Human and anti-Prosperity things that they say?

Whatever her political leanings, she is working inside the tent of the institutional left. She identifies as a Republican whatever that means these days. Given that the topic is the Democratic Party candidates, she is offering common sense advice on what they are doing wrong if they want to come close to beating the loose cannon populist. By doing so, she is being loyal to her employer who is in the business of shilling for the Democrats while demonizing Republicans. If that makes her a whore, she is not alone in the corporate world and there are worse things to do for a living such as the job of hysteria-pimping politicians. Given her current employer, I doubt that she will be forthcoming with what she really thinks.
If there were reasonably moderate Democrats then yes, one could be a conservative and be a critic of Donald Trump. Hell, the guy is far from perfect. I think we all get the underlying paradox, we need a successful champion and we wish that person would be more completely similar to our ideals, but there apparently was no such person (Ted Cruz perhaps might have been), and the danger of the alternative was and continues to be such that it’s any port in a storm.
Some of Trump’s weaker points might be more obvious outside America, but in any case, he’s a far better alternative than losing and watching Hillary Clinton expand her criminal empire while passively allowing the underbelly to push a harder line of political correctness, all in a halfway house to some next generation end-game communist victory.
As for people like SE Cupp, they value their friends’ opinions more than the future of liberty. When you and your friends are in the processing line-up at the camps, that might seem like a rather self-indulgent mistake.
I think that day could come, because we are now a long way into the brainwashing of the young, and at some point a critical mass willing to resist totalitarian impulses will be absent. My only real criticism of Trump is that he seems to be throwing away the chance to build a longer term movement — he has no really obvious awareness that once he’s gone, there won’t be an automatic reload. I would hope for a separate party name, for example, the development of normal party structures to ensure that future representatives of the brand adhere to the wishes of the base, otherwise it will just be a series of autocrats and the next one might not have even as many points of overlap as this first one has had. Easy for me to say from outside the country, but I think there must be many Americans who support Trump but wish he would act somewhat differently.
