Coulda Had Max

Beauty.

A pre-election chill has descended over some environment charities after Elections Canada warned them that discussing the dangers of climate change during the upcoming federal campaign could be deemed partisan activity.

An Elections Canada official warned groups in a training session earlier this summer that because Maxime Bernier, the leader of the People’s Party of Canada, has expressed doubts about the legitimacy of climate change, any group that promotes it as real or an emergency could be considered partisan, said Tim Gray, executive director of the advocacy group Environmental Defence.

The possibilities are endless.

  1. Now we understand what Galileo had to deal with: speak the truth and the establishment will make you pay for it.

    1. Interestingly neither Galileo, nor devout Roman Catholic priest Nicolaus Copernicus who preceded him, were tortured or had to live out their days in a dungeon. Rather they lived very comfortably under “house arrest”. Basically getting the same favorable treatment Rome gives its pedophile priests today.

Also interesting is how the Jesuits and Cardinal Bellarmine (who came up with the deceitful anti-Protestant doctrine of “learning against learning”) supported Galileo.

It’s almost as if Rome’s opposition to Galileo was only staged opposition for the benefit of the masses. Both the Jesuits and Cardinal Bellarmine sought to disprove the Bible, which had recently been allowed into the hands of the masses due to Martin Luther and the movable type printing press, against their best efforts. Now they had to show that the Bible account was actually fictional.

      1. exactamundo.
the vatican’s OWN astronomers KNEW galileo was right.
they just could NOT let that bit of truth out and irreparably damage 1,000 years of superstition.

I have serious issues with bible thumpers insisting on a complete, strict literal interpretation of a book that has been mangled, edited, abridged, translations of translations of translation etc up the wazzo by . . . . by . . . . . . . . . humahhhns.

        1. Wrong conclusion hb. The Vatican knows the truth, but forced Copernicus to release De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium early, which he wanted done only after he had died. Unfortunately for him, Protesantism was growing out of control for the Roman Catholic Church, under Martin Luther, so plans had to change. Copernicus was a follower of Pythagorus, an ancient mathematician who was one of the early pushers of a heliocentric model.

Copernicus wasn’t ridiculed because his theory was so outlandish. He was ridiculed because it was so easily disprovable. But the Vatican was the world’s only superpower, so we are taught only that he was right and the Roman Catholic church was wrong, and so here we are today.

And now that an organization comprised of Nazis and Freemasons has told us that they landed on the moon, we have all the proof we need.

        2. On the “book” translations, virtually all translations agree with each other. The only seriously off-base ones are those used by, or written by the Vatican.

This is of course, by design.

The Roman Catholics Westcott and Hort, for example, rewrote much of the Bible to purposely distort the text. The correspondence between the two of them conspiring to do so has been preserved to this day. The Douay-Rheims, or Jesuit Bible, was written by the Jesuits, who have always been liars and were never Christian.

Even the King James Version contains a few purposely created errors suggested by the Jesuit Tobias Matthew to his close friend, the Rosicrusian Francis Bacon. For example, including the pagan festival “Easter” rather than “Passover”.

Generally speaking, the differences between non-Roman Catholic created Bibles are minor. The variances are no different than any book translations between any two languages.

        3. On a side note, Francis Bacon placed his alter-ego in Psalm 46.

“William Shakespeare” is an anagram of “Here was I, like a psalm.”

Both Francis Bacon and his best friend, the Jesuit Tobias Matthew loved playing word games and encoding messages even in their letters to each other. And Francis Bacon was one of the writers for the Bible written for closet Catholic and homosexual King James I of England aka King James VI of Scotland.

  2. Startling move by Elections Canada, and absolutely right, AGW/CC IS just a theory, based on computer models. The theory that the Earth was flat was around a lot longer than global warming, and how long was eugenics considered “settled science”?

It’s a f***ing theory, despite the zeal of politicians, hucksters, the msm, to claim otherwise. Yeah, we coulda had Max, but we are stuck with Ange, so let’s get Trudeau out of the PM’s job however we have to do it, and it won’t be done by voting for a fringe one seat Party.

    1. That theory is proving to be quite profitable for someone.

I got my latest power bill earlier today. Although I used considerably less electricity than I did last year for the same period of time, I’m paying significantly more.

No, Climate Barbie, I didn’t use fewer electrons than 12 months ago because of you.

  3. An advocacy group named Environmental Defence!! I protest!! I ask that they change their name immediately!! The word ”Defence” conjures images of war! Those images relate to automatic weapons, trucks, tanks and missiles! All military equipment that can cause destruction and raise CO2 levels in our precious atmosphere!! I’m phoning CBC right now!!

    1. The main reason I stopped listening to Quirks and Quarks after nearly 40 years was that it kept portraying “climate change” as an established, irrefutable fact.

      1. And there’s the trick. Climate change is real and demonstrable; however, it is natural. It is the Warmistas who deny climate change. There has been no demonstration that any change in climates there may be are anything other than natural, except for the obvious effects of city concrete and agriculture. And they are still local in effect.

I also enjoy hearing people spout off about hydrogen power being green, clean and safe as its only by product is water vapor. Ha The worst “greenhosue gas” of them all. BTW Without water and water vapor, this planet would be 30 something degrees cooler. So lets hear it for greenouse gasses!

      2. B A, climate change is irrefutable, it has been changing for billions of years and will continue to do so with or without us. I just wish the people would tell the government fools that they have to stop sucking money from the people and the people’s economy in the name of natural phenomena. They can never and will never be able to control the climate. A vote for any fool who thinks he/she can control the climate is a vote for slavery.

        1. Ah, that’s not climate change. What our “betters” are referring to is that the oceans are about to start boiling because you, you miserable prole, dared use a plastic straw and not a cardboard drink box thingy.

    2. Will this put a crimp in PrancingPrincessPetunia’s dance ensemble?.. HAHAHAHA!.. Shameless Stuttering to follow.

  4. While I do realize that the outcome of the SNC-Lavelin report by the Ethics Commissioner has (most likely) not yet hit the polls, a lot of predictions are showing a Liberal win in the next fed. election, thanks to our Canadian friends in Ontario. In some polls, Maxime Bernier is below the 1% pop. vote mark. Few are even showing a one seat win for Max.

And you’re going to risk a Liberal win for what?? And YES, this is all about winning!!

    1. As I tried to tell Hiliary – ignore the polls! 🙂

The establishment game is clear – ignore Max, deny him air time don’t include him in polls. And if you must mention him, deride him as a cook (Scottish Bill on CFRA did that yesterday morning).

        1. Probably a good cook but certainly no Kook 🙂 Look at the time of the post 🙁

    2. Exactly.
Coulda Had Max? Thank God we didn’t get Max!!!
      PPC are wasting everyone’s time.
      Their platform is irrelevant.
I think PPC is a Liberal insurance policy based on the following:
      – Bernier is a Quebecker & bought off (aren’t they all).
      – PPC continually attack Scheer, not the Liberals.
      – Liberals attack Scheer not the PPC

In my opinion if the PPC can swing a few seats to the liberals, Max will get a very nice pay day like an ambassadorship to a peaceful warm locale.

His supporters will be very embarrassed I am sure.
The only way to get Trudeau out is to vote CPC, hold you nose if you have to, but 4 more of Trudeau is vastly worse than a centrist Conservative Party who will get rid of Trudeau’s radical BS he’s been shoving down our throats.

      1. Bobby babe, Scheer and the CPC are irrelevent because they have the same platform as the Libs and Dippers.

      2. Booby, are really that stooped. Andy scheep created Max’s party, and that’s why a vote for scheep is a vote for the status quo. We had 15 years of libtards here in ontarIowe because of unthinking people like you. Whodat and ain’t a tory Tory were useless titts. Finally even old stock libs were supporting Ford, because the libs were wrecking Ontario. And that may be what is needed federally. If a 100,000 people had signed a petition shortly after scheep weaseled his way in, using libtard tatics, we may now have had an actually leader. andy 2% is not a leader.

  5. How long before the federal government mandates that our entire system of measurement be based on carbon tax?

Imagine weather forecasts like this: “Today’s high will be between $12 and $15 carbon tax, and overnight lows from $2 to $5.” The maximum speed on the Trans-Canada Highway will be, say, $50 carbon tax per hour. How about rejoicing that your weight dropped by $3 carbon tax?

One’s age will be a measure of cumulative carbon tax as, after all, one must pay for one’s sins throughout one’s life, right? (“And your age, sir?” “$50,000 carbon tax.” “Really! I could have sworn you were $35,000.”)

I’m sure that Prinz Dummkopf, et. al., would love it.

  6. Congratulations to Mr. Max Bernier. Amazing what actually pushing back can do.

Yes it is ugly. Yes you will get called bad names. Yes you will have people disagree with you, maybe even friends. But you can win. Even when you don’t immediately win, you know you stopped them for a while.

President Donald Trump and “his awful tweets” are pushing back. He is winning, You can tell by the shrieking of the losers. But the Republican Establishment doesn’t like it. They would rather lose gracefully.

The voters like winning. They like Trump.
Will Canadians learn to like Max?

          1. So Joe or any Scheer supporter here can you please tell me where I can find the link to the Scheers Platforms Page.

I went on their website but they don’t state where it is.

            Kinda strange…

            Thanks in advance

Here’s the link to make it easier

            https://www.conservative.ca/

          2. Angel,
The “Scheer” genius platfom is right there on the welcome page, it is quite simply “Give us your money and support.”

What, were you expecting something else from a guy whose ideology is based on not being Turdo?

Scheer is a numpty, if by some magic he wins there will be no difference to the shit coming currently from the turdo.

        1. Mad Max splits the right vote, why not just embrace TruDOPE and his second term right now?
          Vote splitting, ala Alberta 2015.
Guaranteed. Do you ever learn. As said above, hold your nose, vote CPC, as TURFING TRUDEAU is the most important outcome.
Max is an alsoran already. Quebecers looking after Quebecers!

          1. When are the party faithful going to get it that the CPC or any other party is not entitled to anyone’s vote?

Mad Max splits nothing. Its the CPC who have moved left to split the Liberal vote. We are being played by the right-left LibCon tag team. Doesn’t matter how you vote, the goal post keep moving to the left. Max offers an alternative to the globalist owned LibCons. Had Max not shown up, many would be staying home on voting day out of disgust for the CPC.

On voting day remember to thank the CPC for laying the ground for Trudeau’s carbon tax.

          2. This argument is getting so old. I never would vote for milkboy. I have not voted for that party since Harper let it be known he was a globalist.
Max is picking up a lot of voters who have not voted in years.
Max is picking up ex libs and ndp and green.
A lot if cons are getting real disgusted with milkboy and have switched to the PPC.
There is a huge undercurrent out there and Max will win.

          3. Ray and ron,

            Well said, both of you.

I will NOT be chided into betraying my conservative values because the CPC CINO’s have given up theirs. And I am not abandoning Scheer’s party, they long ago abandoned me. Yes, Trudeau is a leftarded catastrophe, but what is the point of replacing him with only a slightly better leftarded catastrophe? In many ways, I am actually angrier about Scheer’s abysmal performance than at Trudeau’s truly embarrassing and destructive one.

I remember when certain people were whining during the GOP primaries “Oh, God, don’t vote for Trump, that’s guaranteed to give Hilary the presidency.” Well, we are sure damn glad now that most people ignored that losing argument, aren’t we?

          4. Thanks guys, nice to see your denial in action. Denial is not a river in Egypt.

Say hello to more than 4 more years of Trudeaupian preening and smugness, hope it makes you happy!

  7. Living in Lizzie May’s riding I can happily vote for the PPC candidate without the slightest chance of re-electing Trudeau by vote splitting. If you are in Alberta or Saskatchewan you can too.

    1. Unfortunately, living in Dizzy’s riding means the government employee/retiree vote, along with the Gulf Islands means the old hippies sway the day, going full Greentard.
Out here in the Westshore though, the CPC stands a chance of election. If there is a strong three way split amongst the leftards, the CPC stands a fair chance of running up the middle. Last election, the CPC candidate was only 5% off the gay dipper stooge. A weaker ENDP, a stronger Greentard vote, and we elect a CPC candidate from Greater Victoria.
Liberals NEVER do well on the westshore. Trudy is trying to bribe the local voters, but it would be a shock if any Liberal was elected on the Island. The ENDP is weakened thanks to Meethead, the Greens will suck up that vote. MIght be a few more CPC surprises here come election day, if Max doesnt get Trudope elected, his fellow Qbecer!

  8. Every change in the weather requires Communism, the government must take over the entire economy.

    It’s political science 101…

    1. Worse than that, i9t requires Communism to change the weather. Is there nothing Communism cannot do? Watermelons!

  9. My spiteful side enjoyed that piece.
    I like Max but I can’t vote for a K-becer. Ever.
In Retard Riding Ottawa, No Time McKenna spews her carbon laced shyte. Maybe the ENDP candidate, whoever the hell that is, will battle her, but a Con has little chance even when the vote is split.

        1. I don’t believe Max.

When he worked for Bernard Landry he argued that Quebec should get more money from Canada.

Now people would like us to believe he’s saying Quebec should get less money from Ottawa.

Quebecers are going to vote for someone who says he’ll give them less money?

          1. Québécois like their French province

They want lower immigration just like a majority of Canadians want

The PPC is the only party offering lowering immigration to 100,000 to a maximum of 150,000

          2. Québécois like Albertans money more than immigration limits. With French language restrictions, on the workplace and education they’ve essentially solved the Frencness of Quebec re immigration.

But this October we shall see how many votes Max gets in Quebec. That is if Trudeau calls an election for October.

          3. joe, learn what “context” means. Yesterday alberta was rich, today, not so much. I don’t agree with transfers as they stand. But investing in poorer areas by the richer areas is home charity.

          4. NME.

Quebec still wants Albertans money. Reference Francois Legault, “We are entitled to equalization, there is no question of adjusting or changing it”.

So at least one premier thinks Alberta has money.

      1. Same line every time…
Its not prejudice. (My mother is half French.)
        Its history.
K-bec politicians serve K-bec first. Pierre, Brian, Jean, and Juthtin all serve(d) K-bec first. The federal bureaucracy is almost 40% French and is run by them. Bilingualism in the ROC and none in K-bec. Transfer payments. Separation extortion. 3 of 9 SCOC judges guaranteed.
By the way, only lefties call people prejudiced who present facts they don’t like.
The “downfall” comes from Canadians who keep voting for K-becers and expect a different result. Its madness.

        1. Agreed. Seems there are many here that don’t understand history and are doomed to repeat it.
Kbec Max is the latest Shiny Object from there, and he will be a turncoat, as they always do.
Name a famous, long term, true conservative from Kbec that is admired and remembered, that didn’t sell out the country for their or Kbecs interests……
          ……………..CRICKETS………………..

          1. Fear will not make me vote for the Liberal Party of Scheer aka LibCons

            I’m voting for

            Free Speech

Less Immigration and from people who will adopt Canadian Values

            No Federal Carbon Tax

            No Milk Cartel

            No tax funded CBC

            No Paris Accord

            No Global UN on migration

            https://www.peoplespartyofcanada.ca/

Scheer Trudeau thé same insane policies and platforms They have the same Globalist Agendas

Canada and Canadians can not afford any more time with either of the LibCons.

They have ruled over us forever it’s time to put a stop to that in October

        2. I actually admire the way kaybeck got ahold of the levers of powah.
ROC is too &^&$damned LAZY and apathetic to use the same proven tactics.
thus ROC *deserves* to get ripped off and outvoted and outmaneuvered every time.

      2. A lot of hate from the West against Ontarians likewise who work and pay same Fed Income tax rate that goes into the same pot and gets pissed away. As if only the West’s tax dollars get squandered in this great confederation. As if they are the only true conservatives on this planet. Do Westerners really believe they are getting screwed over more than rural/small town Ontarians?
Harper and the oil patch screwed rural Ontario over real good with WINDSCAM. And we have to live with the consequences for the next 30 years!!!

        1. Do Westerners really believe they are getting screwed over more than rural/small town Ontarians?

Yes. Is rural/small town Ontario subject to legislation designed to destroy its economic base? Has Ottawa deliberately waged war on rural/small town Ontario in order to crush its sense of independence?

          1. You are welcome to take a drive and see the shuttered storefronts small town Ontario. They have been planning the depopulation of rural areas per Agenda 21 for decades. Services are being cut so people move to regional centers. Our factories closed with NAFTA. Rural municipalities have been amalgamated with urban centers. Urbanites out vote us. Taxes get spent on urban pet projects. We have a shortage of doctors with waiting times of 3 weeks to be seen.

You are just starting to feel the pain. We’ve been going though it for 20 years.

          2. We’ve been going through that for much longer. The NEP was inflicted upon western Canada nearly 40 years ago. A lot of people got hurt by that, including me. Whole companies disappeared almost overnight.

This region never really recovered from that and now that frilly fop wants to finish us off entirely….. by law. I guess there aren’t any whales off the Atlantic coast, nor are there any oil tankers out there.

    1. It’s not only Quebeckers looking after the Quebec vote. That’s just how it is on the plantation.

“The Harper Conservatives, Kenney among them, brought in a new equalization formula with the 2007 budget. The more generous formula – up 20 per cent between 2006 and 2008 – also contained provisions on treatment of property taxation that delivered an even larger increase to Quebec. Quebec’s equalization payment went up 50 per cent from $4.8 billion to $7.2 billion over the two years.”

  10. Bernier Claims ‘Islamist Extremists’ Have Infiltrated Canadian Politics

Bernier, the party said, was referring to Omar Subedar, a Toronto-area imam who has been the subject of controversial conservative Rebel Media videos as well as a recent posting in Jihad Watch.

Subedar told HuffPost Canada Monday that Bernier’s allegations are untrue and he is just waiting for “the right moment to use the Canadian system against him” and bring him to court.

The Rebel’s videos, Subedar said, distorted the message he was sharing. “Am I teaching men to go out there and beat their wives? No!,” said the imam.

Subedar was explaining the prophet’s teaching and contextualizing them, he said. “Almost every major imam who is in Canada has been found saying something with respect to this particular verse, because it is something that you do have to deal with,” he said, explaining a Qur’an passage that appears to suggest men may beat their wives lightly.

The Muslim cleric said he has no idea what Bernier is talking about regarding Islamist extremists infiltrating political parties, calling the suggestion “completely ludicrous and unjustified.”

“My personal opinion is he is trying to create a base that is hostile to people of colour,” Subedar said, of Bernier.

The imam said the first attack against him on the Rebel came when he posted a picture with then Liberal leader Justin Trudeau in 2014. The second happened this spring after he was photographed with Scheer. Subedar said he spoke with the Tory leader about the party’s relationship with the community and white supremacy.

      1. Not a plant just showing how the Islamist hate free speech.

I agree with Max there’s to many Islamist in our Canadian Governments wether Federally, Provincial and municipal.

    1. ” a populist movement that seeks to maximize freedoms in Canada and encourage personal responsibility.”

A self styled populist movement. In reality, not a movement as too few people know the PPC even exists.
In fact so few have even heard of it, claims to popularity at all are entirely fatuous.

  11. Why is a former NPD Leader doing a hit piece on Max in support of Scheer.

Geez the real polling numbers must be scaring the approved Globalist political parties.

I know Scheer moved left to center but having Mulcair supporting Scheer maybe the Cons are further left than we all have thought.

MULCAIR: Maxime Bernier makes Andrew Scheer appear middle-of-the-road

In the most predictable manner, the Trudeau Liberals are trying out their attacks on Scheer, portraying him as a heartless, Ford-esque ideologue.

That’s where Max comes in. He becomes the shield for Scheer to parry those attacks. Right-wing ideologue? You must be referring to my friend Maxime Bernier …

Scheer will always appear middle-of-the-road by comparison to Max la Menace. In a campaign where personal attacks will abound, that can only help Scheer.

    — Tom Mulcair is a lawyer and university professor and the former leader of the federal NDP

    https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/mulcair-maxime-bernier-makes-andrew-scheer-appear-middle-of-the-road

    1. Same with Kinsella giving at-a-boys to Scheer while calling Max a neo-Nazi.
The true colours of the LIbCon tag team are showing.

    2. MULCAIR: Maxime Bernier makes Andrew Scheer appear middle-of-the-road

You mean Scheer has moved to the right? Scheer is a big-government leftist, maybe not by design but certainly by choice; thinking he’s being sooo Machiavellian in oputflanking Trudeau to the left. But… he’s deluding himself. This is not Machiavellian, this is cowardice.

      1. “You mean Scheer has moved to the right?”

No, Maxime(who is a guy) is so lunatic fringe he makes Scheer(leader of a nationally recognized party)… Maxime makes nothing.
Actually, Maxime only makes a butt load of lip service. He is a one man party and few people have heard of him.
You can promise the sun, the moon, and the stars and you don’t need details or a delivery plan if you aren’t going to win anyway.

  12. GOLDSTEIN: For climate alarmists ‘free speech’ exists only for them

Ironically, in 2015 the environmental charity, Ecojustice, urged Canada’s Competition Bureau, on behalf of six “prominent” Canadians, including former Ontario NDP leader and UN ambassador Stephen Lewis, to investigate Friends of Science, the International Climate Science Coalition and the Heartland Institute for climate denial.

Ecojustice accused them of making false and misleading claims about climate change, including that the sun is the main driver of climate change, and carbon dioxide isn’t a pollutant (also Bernier’s position).

Ecojustice told the National Observer it would press the Commissioner of Competition to refer the matter to the Attorney General of Canada for “criminal charges against the denier groups.”

After 14 months, the Competition Bureau dropped the investigation.

I don’t recall any of the politicians and environmental groups now wailing about free speech, criticizing Ecojustice back then.

That’s because, unlike Bernier, who understands what free speech means, they would happily censor speech they disagree with.

  13. Sign of our times that so many are willing to elect a liberal to replace a Liberal.

We get the government we deserve.

The sooner canuckistan breaks up the better. Even that I fear, will not stop the tide of people clamoring for government to wipe their noses.

    1. I’ve seen saying for a while that we should dissolve the federation. The federal level of government doesn’t do anything for any of us.

  14. Brilliant!

I wonder if these election laws translate to America? Hello PDJT! Hello Brad Parscale!

  15. Let’s list all the Never Maxers here, and publicly mock them for the rest of time.

You know, all the insufferably sanctimonious twits, who spam every discussion with “has no chance of being elected”, “wasted vote”, “it’s a vote for Trudeau”, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseam.

You know, all the paid astro turfers, like Bob Daye, whom you’ve never seen a comment from before the election call, and never will again after October.

At least Un Me is occassionally amusing. The people from the CPoC are universally lacking in humor, wit, common sense,…

    1. Angel
      Bob Daye
      Buddy
      Joe
      DanBC

Never seen a more inept or boring spammer than this “Angel” sock puppet. Seriously, 10 or more cut and paste posts in a single thread?

      1. Not span but informative links you can skip on by for that’s your right just like I have my right to free speech and btw this is a Max thread.

      2. I thought Angel’s Ecojustice post was informative and the various other links relevant. That’s not spam. Let’s not squelch free speech here. I don’t expect to agree with everyone’s perspective.

      3. I wouldn’t vote for the Cons if you paid me and I would vote for Max if he wasn’t from K-bec. If he had even moved out of K-bec I might have considered voting for him.
But mock all you like and I’ll continue to sigh as Canadians continue to hand over their nation’s fate to a group who overwhelmingly identifies first and foremost as K-becers, not Canadians.

      4. Do you not understand Alberta 2015? Clearly, not!

Just profess your TruDOPE love already. Do you have a selfie with him, Kevin?

What’s next Kevin, doxxing us, because we see Max as a shameless Kbecer?

        Shame on you!

    2. Let’s list all the Never Maxers here, and publicly mock them for the rest of time.

      List me among them.

I have no real opinion of Max, other than that I REALLY WISH Andrew Who would start expressing a few opinions instead of just sitting there in dumb silence collecting cobwebs and letting Sockpuppet run-away with the show – and I REALLY WISH EVEN MORE that Andrew Who’s expressed opinions were a lot more closely aligned with Max’s than the few he’s expressed usually are (i.e., too d@mn closely aligned with Sockpuppet’s).

But I won’t vote Max. Honesty in politics is greatly to be desired – but it doesn’t exist, least of all in Canada, and election promises are worth the paper they’re written-on; sometimes. And our #1 priority (or at least, mine) must be to GET RID OF SOCKPUPPET.

Andrew Who can do this, if we don’t split the vote – Max can’t, and a vote for Max is a vote for Trudeau. With luck, Max will have a big enough Party next-time-around that he can relegate the Dairy Queen to “ex-Prime-Minister”; and I look forward to hearing his damning shot-across-the-bow denunciations from the Opposition bench for a couple’a years before he takes-over.

Call me “Conservative-in-Name-Only” ( – been called worse – ), but I was at our Riding Meeting and our Riding selected a contemptible plug-for-votes bafflegabber as candidate, and Max ain’t running a candidate here anyway. So I’ll vote against the Liberals, and hope for somebody I can vote-for next time around.

      1. List me among them.

        – Oh and: if Max splits the conservative vote and Trudeau gets back in, who’ll be mocking who? You got it: the Greeeen Weeeenies, SJW’s and Cana-jihadis will be mocking us for four more years. If we keep giving them opportunities, eventually they’ll take-over the LPOC and outlaw it losing elections, and then THEY’LL mock US “for the rest of time”. Think about it.

        1. Nailed it, you win the Internet with that post.

Basic facts that fly over the head of blind partisans like “A”.

Who mocks who………Max the Kbec vote splitter, ala Alberta 2015.

Be careful what you wish for puritans, you just might get it! Four more years of a TruDOPE minority, supported by Lizard May. Is that YOUR Canada that you desire? Split the right vote, that’s what you get

          1. I don’t desire a Canada anymore. I wish for the federation to dissolve. Electing Trudeau may aid in that goal. Burn it to the ground.

      2. Yep. You can add my name there. Angel thinks a blizzard of posts and links will gloss over the past voting record of Mr. Bernier and his past silence on conservative principles when Harper could have used a strong conservative voice from Quebec.
I guess being a Quebec conservative is different than being a conservative from other parts of Canada.

    3. Let’s remember this and see who should be mocked come October.
If Trudeau is still the PM……
You PPC morons don’t get it, Canada is done if Trudeau get’s back in and it’s Max that could put him there.
Max has some good policies, so what they’ll never see the light of day with trudeau, they could with CPC.

      1. “Canada is done if Trudeau gets back in.”

Works for me. That’s a pretty good plan B if Max doesn’t get elected.

Scheer had every opportunity to support some of Max’s policies. He didn’t.

  16. You know they are on shaky ground when politician after politician must cough up the embarassing “Climate change is real!” mantra to try to convince people. It sounds rather like a child’s plea for something he wishes were true. The adults in the room are not likely to be persuaded.

  17. Good. Can we add transgenderism is a mental illness and firearms restrictions are pointless to the list as well? Be nice if Drama Queen and the Big Red Menace only had adult issues left to talk about.

  18. I thought that if you have the same policies as the Liberal Party of Canaduh, nothing much will change if you are the Prime Minister. At least Max and the PPC will bring a little more freedom to Canadians, something the Liberals seem to be eroding with every day they remain the government. If Trudope gets re-elected in October, I can envision a free republic standing on the prairies within 3 years. Alberta will be completely destitute by the end of 4 more years of Butts and his Moron.

    1. At least Max and the PPC will bring a little more freedom to Canadians…

      No Max won’t.
Max doesn’t have nearly enough candidates to form the government, even if every candidate he runs gets elected.
Voting Max will get Trudope re-elected.
      3-2=1.

      1. “Max doesn’t have nearly enough candidates to form the government, even if every candidate he runs gets elected.”

Haven’t they nominated about 300 with plans to run in all constituencies? Last I heard they had nominated more than the Liberals.

        1. Have all those PPC nominations acquired the required 100 signatures from eligible voters in their ridings? Or the 150 signatures recommended by Elections Canada?

    2. OK, it is getting funny now. They never talk policy; all they got is:
“Max doesn’t have nearly enough candidates to form the government”
“our #1 priority (or at least, mine) must be to GET RID OF SOCKPUPPET”

Seriously, that last argument is someone who would vote for Pol Pot or Stalin or Hitler to get rid of Trudeau.

Not being Trudeau, is not enough.

Not being Trudeau, is not a sufficient precondition.

There are trillions of people on the planet who are not Trudeau. Everyone except Trudueau, is not Trudeau.

Until they learn that (which I do not think they are capable of), have fun with guaranteed to win Hillary, and the first female PM of Canada. Cause that is the only company Andrew Scheer will be keeping (outside his guest appearances on CBC). I think the worst electoral defeat in Canadian history is coming up for the CPoC; this is the end of Red Tory Party #2, or #3, or #4, or whatever.

      1. Don’t you want rid of Sockpuppet?

Don’t take my word for it, Kevin. As Churchill put it when asked how he could contemplate an alliance with the genocidal Stalin, “If Hitler invaded Hell I’d make at least a favourable reference to the devil in the House of Commons”. Sometimes we must be less choosy about our friends – we can deal with them after we’ve defeated the enemy; that’s how wars are won.

And I really don’t appreciate your inflammatory “WE – THEY” rhetoric, BTW. In another venue, you could put that down as “Why Trump (or Trudeau, in this case) Won”. Sounds to me like, having no better reason, you’d vote Max just to pi$$ other conservatives off; that path leads to Trudeau, so be careful what you wish for…

P.S. I call Godwin’s Law on you. And, since when are there trillions of people on the planet?

        1. Since you quoted Sir Winston, here are a couple of his quotes as pertains Weak Andy Steer:

“He is a modest man, with much to be modest about”

“Andrew Scheer is a sheep in sheeps clothing”

    3. A vote for Max is a vote for continuing the K-bec Domination of the Dominion.
If Max wins, he’ll continue the exploitation.
If PM Dickspank remains, he’ll continue the exploitation with that smug smirk.
If Scheer wins, he’ll continue the exploitation only he’ll look confused.
If Jughead wins, he won’t know whether to fart or write his name in the snow.
If May wins, we’re f**king doomed.

      1. So, basically, all you got is logical fallacy; appeal to emotion/consequences/fear/ridicule (argumentum ad passiones). Or maybe this is a misguided appeal to authority (argumentum ad verecundiam)? Although I do not know that Buddy or anyone else would consider Buddy an expert authority on Canadian politics…

If anyone has a rational argument for voting for Andrew Scheer, I have yet to hear it.

The little I have seen and heard from Scheer, he most resembles the Liberal party in policy. So I expect no change in anything whether Scheer or Trudeau wins.

Bernier is the only one who even appears to have any policy differences from the Liberal/NDP/Green/CPoC monolithic policy book. Sure, the comma on line 35 on page 56 may be missing or in a different place, but the books are basically the same

        1. Is that why he’s polling at 3% Mr Mocker?

You clearly don’t understand vote splitting. See Alberta 2015.

          1. “See Alberta 2015.”

So who am I supposed to vote for? A Liberal who lies and calls himself a Conservative or a Liberal who is honestly a Liberal or none of the above?

        2. So as I understand your argument Kevin, “I expect no change in anything whether Scheer or Trudeau wins.” And on an absolute numerical basis, Max can’t win.

So based-on your own argument, what is lost by voting Scheer? I’ve mentioned what we might gain by it – getting rid of Sockpuppet. To save you suggesting there’s no difference between them so we should just keep Trudeau, Sockpuppet has thoroughly demonstrated his trust-fund baby, head-in-the-clouds indifference to Canadian and international law, the Canadian economy (and particularly that of the oil patch), and the wellbeing of Canadians. Scheer could hardly do worse, so we might as well give him a try – after all, by your own logic, what have we got to lose?

Mark Twain – “It is easier to fool a man than to convince him he has been fooled”.

        3. Why would any opposition leader announce policies before the election is called.

You want to let Trudeau and his foibles stay in the news.

Why present your policies so they can be attacked and keep Trudeau out of the news?

          1. It’s nice to see that someone gets Politics 101.

Scheer keeps his policies as close as possible to the Liberal lies, and Mad Max takes all the flack for his “extreme right wing “policies.

This kills the only possible Liberal game plan which is run against the “extreme” Andy Scheer.

This is a best case scenario versus Liberal majority and the even scarier Liberal with Greens/NDP minority.

If Jesus, Jefferson and Churchill came back together, I wouldn’t vote for them If they lived in Quebec.

            Poor Canada.

      2. You forgot the doomsday scenario.

A Trudeau minority, propped up by Lizard May. Say goodbye to your investments and wealth, they will destroy this nation, deficits we’ve never seen before, and destruction of resource industries with a nationwide scaling back of all hydrocarbon use.

A Mac vote ensures that. Just like Alberta 2015. Where is Wildrose now? It’s where the PPC will be in 4 years time, the memory hole.

        1. No the only thing disappearing after the election is the LibCons Party of one the old LibCons status quo rears it’s ugly clown head for the last time with Trudope for Canadians finally have a great PPC option to finally ditch the dreaded LibCons and all their scams

All the LibCons ever do is keep us circling the sewer as they govern us all further into totalitarianism.

Canadians are finally done with the LibCons Clown Circus Show

          https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ECIyi3uUIAAux4A?format=jpg&name=medium

        2. Our investments and wealth have been dissolving for a decade, and will continue to if the CPC get in, but maybe at a slightly lower pace. Canada has been going down the tubes for decades, and no government can change it. That’s why you should invest your money outside Canada. Take advantage of the fact that they got rid of Canadian content regs on your RRSP. When we go full Venezuela I’ll be living high off the hog on my American currency dividend income.

  19. Let the disenfranchised Liberals bring Sheer in to power. I’m voting for Max because he is a conservative.

  20. First, how bad are things really?
Second, what do we do right now?
Third, what should we do for the long term?

You start with what you know.

Politicians are liars. You might get 0%, 5%, 10%, of what they talk about.
The deep state/permanent civil service is entrenched, and will resist any change (they have made out very well for themselves).

So, starting there; NDP/Liberal/CPoC policy appears to have a greater than 90% overlap.
PPC policy, their published statements has maybe 10% overlap.
    Electing Liberals: 0% change.
Electing NDP/Green: 5% times 10% difference… 0.5% change, to 5% change if they are not liars at all.
Electing Bernier: 5% times 90% difference… 4.5% change, to 90% change if they are not liars at all.

You are going to get a greater chance for change voting PPC than any other option.

If you simply want to hasten the end of Canada, vote NDP/Green/Liberal/CPoC, because you will be guaranteed that basically nothing will change.

If you still have hope for Canada, vote PPC, because that is really the only chance for anything about the current system to change.

    If “Things-Are-Really-Bad—But-Not-So-Bad-that-We-Have-to-Consider-Anything-Really-Different”, … https://www.claremont.org/crb/basicpage/the-flight-93-election/

If you say things are bad, but don’t want to consider any kind of radical action, you do not actually believe the first part of your statement, and you are a liar.

    1. So you believe electing a K-bec politician-led party is going to end the domination of power in Canada by the province of Quebec? That’s your right.
I believe it will not, despite liking many of Max’s policy positions and enjoying the irony of his opposition to Election Canada’s rules brought about by his anti-climate change stance.

  21. How anyone can support Scheerdough is beyond me.

    Trudeau lite
    Pro Climate Change
    Pro Monopolies (All of them)
    Pro Islam
    Pro CBC.
    And Anti Free Speech.

Thats enought to make this Albertan PUKE….Not that I trust Kenney that much either…and who believes “polls”…??

  22. Given that the Cons are a Party without a leader and Max is a leader without a Party, other than in Bernier’s riding, virtually all those voting for the PPC are not electing anyone but are registering a protest vote against the neutered husk of a leader of the Conservative party. If that is more important to people than strategic voting, that’s OK. I live in a brain-dead NDP riding where the race is between a decent but typical fatally compromised conservative against a smiling-faced bring home the bacon bits, free stuff for everyone, NDP drone. The Liberals are a non contender. The PPC candidate is a carpetbagging Global warmer. If I sense the NDP will take it, I will likely vote Libertarian if there is a candidate, otherwise I will likely be voting for the Cons whom I dislike slightly less than the other electables. Actually, the Greens may help a few Cons get elected on the left coast as they appear to be the disaffected NDP voters next choice.

    1. Most aren’t willing to admit it, but this is the last election Canada will ever see.

YES, THINGS HAVE COME TO THAT POINT.

It is all but guaranteed that the uniparty is taking this one. One more win by the uniparty, and Canada is over. Once Alberta leaves, it’s bankruptcy shortly thereafter in Quebec first, then Ontario. Saskatchewan cannot provide the cash alone, to keep the pnzi rolling.

Oh they will try to squeeze Sk for all they can. The bitter clingers to the crowns will do their best, but they will fail.

  23. The Deep State never do the right thing for the right reasons.

How does muzzling well-heeled eco-cranks during an election period benefit Bay Street and their Chinese clients?

Answer: Scheer has been handpicked by Beijing to replace Trudeau, who is clearly never going to get the pipeline to China built. Temporarily muzzling eco-cranks will make global-warming scare tactics against the Conservatives more difficult and expedite Scheer’s victory.

  24. interesting.
Max had to weigh in on it before it was an elections canaduh issue.
it would be telling to know if he is clever enough to have expected this response.

Im voting PPC and will continue until they are a serious factor and then see what happens.
ANYTHING to bounce the LIEberals from powah, even having to tolerate more of them in the short term.

  25. If you want to see conservatism and conservative ideas and legislation grow in Canada, THE only correct course to take is to vote for the most conservative candidate in your riding who has a realistic chance of winning. This has long been the (successful) strategy/tactical advice of Bill Buckley and many, many others. To do otherwise is to risk re-electing the LPC, electing the CPC to a minority rather than a majority or – possibly worst of all – an LPC minority. Not providing the CPC as strong a mandate as possible is to make it far more likely that this Confederation ends in dissolution.

Many reading this will scoff at this advice. Many will make “pur laine” or “cuckservative” type arguments at the suggestion. I think that for many of those who scoff that that is cover for those who simply want to see the Confederation crash and burn as quickly as possible.

My response to those is not outright opposition to the idea – this Confederation may indeed be irreparable – but that they should stop with the holier-than-thou conservative rhetoric and admit that their real goal is to end Confederation. Their big beef it seems with the CPC and Scheer and those who support them is that they are too cowardly and milquetoast a group of conservatives. Well then, they should stop being cowards and frankly state their anti-confederate positions rather than hiding behind the veil that they are uncompromising Conservatives.

    Otherwise they are hypocrites.

    1. “Many reading this will scoff at this advice.”

You said Jason Kenney was ‘the real deal’. I therefore can not see any reason why this new advice is scoff worthy./

      1. Kenney has been in power for just a few (mostly summer) months. What has he done that proves he isn’t the real deal?

      2. Kenney has done nothing. Absolutely nothing. BC and Quebec still get Alberta gas just as they did when Notley was Premier.
Ottawa is still getting Alberta equalization payments just as they did when Notley was Premier. Kenney has done nothing.

Now it’s your turn. Tell me what Kenney has done to keep money in Alberta and promote energy sector jobs here.
Tell me the real deal details. Tell me what I’m missing. What’s hard working Jason been working so darned hard on?

        1. Lots under way – complete overhaul of farm labour law;

          Rollback of minimum wage

          Complete redo of education curriculum

Possible redo of ag insurance if feds are willing

          Unilateral provincial free trade.

          Freezing of cap spending

Red tape overhaul starts in two weeks – I know the MLAs heading it – it’s going to be huge.

The oil and gas issue is going to be addressed – timing around the federal election is much better.

          And tons more.

So you are already completed wrong and summer is not eve over yet.

          1. “The oil and gas issue is going to be addressed – timing around the federal election is much better.”

You and Kenney must be rich Elitists to delay the “oil and gas” issue. Kenney is going to wait until October? Really?
The OIL and GAS issue is Alberta’s ECONOMY and real people have been hanging on by their fingernails for 4 years.
Damn you and damn Kenney. Kenney is playing politics with people’s lives. Yee-Haw!
All that other stuff is fly shit in comparison. I’m not wrong. Tons more fly shit!? I cannot wait for the other shoe to drop./
———the real deal my Aunt Fanny———-

    2. This is precisely what I have been saying. If the confederation of canaduh wants to keep moving left into socialist/globalist waters all while pilfering the pockets of hard working people in Alberta/Saskatchewan while repeatedly stabbing us in the back then let them do so on their own.

IF they want to change tack and move towards freedom and less government then I’m in less of a hurry to leave confederation.

PS: in case it needs to be clarified…Andrew scheer is not going to do anything but grow the government at a slighlty slower pace than Trudeau.

      1. So you are voting PCP because you prefer to leave this Confederation. You know that that is what it does more than voting CPC.

as for your comments on a CPC government – I think it very safe to assume that Mr. Scheer and the CPC would pick up where PMSH and the CPC left off and continue to decrease taxes, make government smaller and respect the powers and juristictions of the provinces. That is – to continue to on a conservative path at a pace that you find unsatisfactory. That is NOT growing government – you are incorrect in saying that.

        1. I supported Harper since his Reform days and throughout his tenure until his retirement (sometimes holding my nose and understanding the centrist stance you have to take to appease eastern Canada, and indeed many segments of western Canada as well). Scheer is no Harper, and even if he was the second coming of Harper I’m tired of watching liberals and centrists gain ground while we equivocate to them when we have power.

As I stated earlier, we have a chance to elect an actual conservative (or at least talks like one and attempts to advance a conservative agenda, which may be as close as Canada ever gets) in Maxime Bernier. If Scheer is as close as we’ll ever get to conservatism in Canada then I’m fine with an agenda that starts the process of Alberta walking away from confederation. I’m tired of having billions of dollars pumped out of this province and given to other provinces who will take our money but won’t even grant us pipeline access.

At some point you have to say enough. And yes, I understand some people have more tolerance for taking a licking from other provinces than I do, and that’s fine. I’m just done at this point and will no longer willingly go along with voting for something I don’t believe in just to be able to say “It’s the lesser of two evils.” I’m donating money to PPC and I’m voting for them…after that I hope a credible secession party rises up that I can donate to and support.

          Best wishes.

PS: For the record, I don’t think Alberta on it’s own will be a lot less susceptible to socialism if we follow the same pattern of Canada. Tough decisions have to be made to make life uncomfortable for people that can, but don’t want, to earn their keep. I’m not sure anyone is willing to make those decisions anymore. (anywhere)

          1. Tell us with a straight face that you think the PPC can win a majority in the upcoming election.

            Or even ten seats…

There is only one right of centre option that has a chance of winning a majority or minority mandate. You know that.

        2. “I think it very safe to assume that Mr. Scheer and the CPC would pick up where PMSH and the CPC left off and continue to decrease taxes, make government smaller and respect the powers and juristictions of the provinces. ”

WTF are you babbling about? Harper made government bigger not smaller. He expanded the surveillance state and upped bailouts and other spending. You live in a fairytale world.

          1. Other than the stimulus spending that he got roped into by the rest of the G20 spending went down. He even reduced cpp entitlement.

    3. What’s the difference between conservatives and both the liberals and NDP? Members of the later will compromise to get elected (especially the Liberals).

The conservative tent is so broad, they often can’t align on anything. Result? They get nothing. Except they are able to pontificate about being pure conservatives.

  26. I know people that have never voted Conservative because Diefenbaker ‘killed’ the Arrow. I know people that never voted Liberal after PET set up the NEP. I know people that have never voted for the NDP because they don’t believe in Communism. Isn’t it about time that we started voting for something to believe in rather than voting negatively. How many people voted for the Reform party when it first made an appearance? If you can’t overcome your own biased opinion about where someone originates from even although he presents a platform based on many of your basic beliefs then perhaps you should do some really serious soul searching. Instead of making up your mind about which party to vote for based on what you read in the media or on blogs like this, go and read each parties platform and find out which party most aligns with your own personal beliefs. Leaders change, parties change, the one thing that should remain constant is your own moral compass. Get over your biased views about whether the leader has nice hair, or if he looks like the super-puffed marshmallow man, or where he was born, look at the platform they espouse, if it closely aligns with your beliefs vote accordingly. Trying to vote strategically is a fools game, it only plays into the so called pundits con-game. One only has to look around at what has transpired over the last few years to see that Brexit, the election of Trump, the Yellow vest protest, the Hong Kong protests, the rejection of unfettered migration in Eastern Europe are the results of people beginning to assert their beliefs and rejecting the herd mentality.

    1. “If you can’t overcome your own biased opinion about where someone originates from even although he presents a platform based on many of your basic beliefs then perhaps you should do some really serious soul searching.”

A basic belief of mine is that anything political called the People’s ____________ is socialist. That Bernier doesn’t know this should be as disturbing to you as it is to me. It is also disturbing that Quebec is Not nor has ever been a conservative province.
It is very disturbing that Bernier’s MP seat was his father’s seat before him, just as Justin Trudeau’s seat was his father’s before him.
Bribery and irresponsibility are cultural Hallmarks in Quebec. It matters not one iota what a Quebec politician says.

Furthermore, no matter which party or coalition of parties is elected to power, there is No Downside for Quebec.
Quebec has No Skin in the Game. For Alberta, it is No Game. It is about survival for us here in Alberta.

      1. “Socialist” is left. New European “People’s” parties like the PPC are populist nationalist right of center. e.g.
        Danish People’s Party
        Conservative People’s Party of Estonia
        Fidesz-Christian Democratic People’s Party (Hungary).

As if nepotism and vote buying and passing of little brown paper bags only happens in Quebec. Lots of spawn ride on dads coat tails e.g., Peter Mac Kay. Elmer (PC) played go-between Schreiber & Mulroney out of the goodness of his heart.

        1. Spare me the Progressives are conservatives B.S. Denmark, Estonia? Shut up. I’ll raise you People’s Republic of China.
Yes, socialist is Left. You get a cookie. Calling something –People’s– politically IS SOCIALIST. Do you speak English?
English is my mother tongue and using the term “People’s” politically is COLLECTIVIST terminology.
Collectivism is Socialism, capiche’? I don’t give a rat’s rosy red root what Iceback Snowbillies from collectivist shitholes like Denmark or Estonia or Hungary, where English is merely a hobby if it’s anything at all, translate their foreign gibberish into.

    2. Largely agree except on strategic voting – there is nothing like it being a fool’s game. Not doing so gets you Rachael Notley and the ABNDP in power, for example.

  27. I’m one of those cynical old bastards who believes that the urbanization of western society has resulted in the dependency and uselessness of so much of the population that a sort of critical mass has been reached, where an ever-diminishing minority has any desire for, or the capacity to endure, the measures that would be necessary to save things.

And upon reflection perhaps I’m a tiny bit responsible for this terrible state of affairs, because over the years I have held my nose and voted for Conservative sheep, which, when you think of it, only serves to reinforce the notion that a sheep is just what is needed to lead Conservative parties. And there is no one who can say scheer is not a sheep. And there is no one who can bring up one case where a Conservative sheep, once elected, became a wolf. A jellyfish perhaps, but certainly not a wolf.

So I will be voting for Max.

    1. Unfortunately, only the people in Max’s riding will be actually voting for Max. The rest will be voting for people who have signed up to have their 15 minutes of glory running in a federal election. Without a grass roots organization such as the work that went into the Reform Party, the PPC will be a one election party. Max will sit essentially as an independent. Those that went through the Reform era seeing the long term results are now burned out. Outspoken conservatives and libertarians exist on SDA in numbers completely disproportionate to the rest of Canada. Most Cons are where Liberals were 40 years ago.

A separate Alberta would necessarily be a socialist Alberta as the only way a majority would go along is under the desire for a smaller local populous to exclusively “share” in the greater spoils of energy wealth instead of with the East.

Canada in Trudeauopian decline, ain’t it great!

      1. Sheer is my MP and I’m voting for Max. Although I don’t think Max’s candidate can win here, a Conservative win and Sheer’s personal defeat would let the Tories elect a better leader. The only way Sheer’s current do nothing strategy makes sense is if he thinks Justin has more serious blunders and scandals coming.

        1. Well, Scheer is my MP and I’m not voting for Max because Max is not in Scheer’s Saskatchewan riding!!!
Tabernac, the quality of these Max bots is lower than a snake’s rectum. Pffft.

      2. Very much disagree that an independent AB would necessarily be socialist. Yes, the riches of the province would remain in the province/country. But that would likely be “shared” via lower taxes and fees. Surely there would be the temptation for a government to spend like it did in the Lougheed era but some well-drafted constitutional elements can prevent that.

      3. Even though you try to put bad thoughts towards the PPC and telling us cons are now liberals which we already know for Scheer did this to himself and his handlers and may they all suffer great defeat.

Well wow you sure drank the CPC milk eh, was it sour and out of date like us PPC members have already figured out that’s why we call you the LibCons

Unfortunately Shittick you left out one of the most glaring facts and that is we are all dog gone tired of voting for LibCons.

The LibCons have had their shots and they pissed them all away and now there offering us globalist MooScheer and his cheating Diary Cartel

No thanks, Justine Clownish antics were enough we don’t want suckup kiss ass Scheer as well.

Shittick we finally have a homegrown third option that’s real and actually truly conservative and it’s grown from one member Max to over 42,000 last I heard.

We’re all running towards something good and leaving away in a dam hurry I must say from the lying cheating deceiving UN Islamist loving LibCons

Shittick were going to with the PPC Maximize Canada for all Canadians.

        You wanna buy a hat?

        https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ECaxWL3UYAAgDoI?format=jpg&name=small

        1. I wish your delusions about the nature of the Canadian electorate were real but the most you can accomplish in this election is to reduce/spoil the possibility of a Conservative win, and for the scorched-earth “separatists”, that apparently isn’t a bad thing. FYI, I left the Cons a while ago in complete disgust and Max was the only reason I rejoined them but that still doesn’t change the real politics of the deranged dominion. A Conservative win would be about as inspiring as a good morning dump but in this Country that’s likely as good as it gets.

As for your ad hominem, I went through that one in grade one. You should up your game.

  28. Will the real Maxime Bernier please reveal himself……

    https://nationalpost.com/news/elections-canada-to-assess-partisan-climate-change-rhetoric-case-by-case

Maxime Bernier, leader of the nascent People’s Party of Canada and an outspoken climate-change denier, was responding on Twitter to the agency’s warning that ads that discuss the legitimacy of the phenomenon — including paid social media placements — could be considered partisan simply because of the position of the People’s Party.
In a word, Bernier summed up Elections Canada’s position as “absurd.”
“The law should only regulate real partisan advertising, which is when there is mention of a candidate or party by name,” he said.

What I thought was a fantastic chain of events after Bernier questioned the science of climate change thereby muzzling environmental groups
I now see The Real Max stepping up and arguing that the muzzle should be removed.

By doing this he is nothing more than a vote splitting planted candidate and has been brought to heel by his Laurentian masters

      1. Ah well, quite the thread going here.
Let me encapsulate the preceding commentary.
Max has accomplished by taking a position, what many who have been trying to get Elections Canada to do for a while, which is to clamp down on the environmental front groups that are proxies for the progressive politicians.
In spite of that there is still some apprehension with regard to the PPC, that his party will only split the conservative vote and allow the liberals to retain enough seats to at worst hold on to majority or be re-elected with a minority with the support of the other “progressive” parties.
Some want this outcome as they believe it will lead to Alberta leaving confederation, others doubting this outcome believe the country will only go further down the path to communism or some variation thereof.
        Heres what I know.
If the liberals pull out a majority you can blame it on anyone you want, but the problems facing the Sockmonkey don’t magically disappear. And his success rate thus far is abysmal. It will end up a pressure cooker. Add to that his predilection for taking the easy way out of predicaments, will inevitably lead to him pulling another Lavscam.
The next time he may not escape with his skin intact, and a caucus revolt is not out of the question, not inevitable, just higher odds of occurring.
Now should the Sockmonkey only obtain a minority its a recipe for a liberal revolt. Liberals as a modus operandi, do not like sharing credit for success and blame everyone else for failure. Having to depend on the Greens or the NDP for the life of your mandate is not a win for them.
A coalition with the Sockmonkey as PM would last about two months.
        But I digress.
This thread is about how the situation for how the environmental front groups, make that all the progressive proxies, where able to skirt election laws, and now they can’t because Max took a position that is different from the liberals.
Perhaps there is a lesson here for conservatives.
Rather than getting into a bun fight, it might be more productive to concentrate on the advantage.
        Thus ends the lesson.

        1. I agree, if they are getting hoist by their own petard, don’t interfere.

We didn’t create Elections Canada, but if they are currently attacking our enemies instead of us? Let them.

        2. The next announcement will be that those employees of Elections Canada have all been fired…

      2. Me? I just wonder how much Justin is paying for Max’s “free speech”. At least a one-man-party must sell like talk does, cheap.

    1. thanks for the link.

Wwe still have the paid for and owned presstitutes plugging for the establishment parties & not subject to any campaign finance rules having way more influence than some environmental group buying ads.

Some CPC types don’t get the free speech thingy cuz all they see is their leader kow-towing to the progressive presstitutes believing that all will change once he gets elected.

  29. “You PPC morons don’t get it, Canada is done if Trudeau get’s back in and it’s Max that could put him there.”

That there is the best reason to vote PPC.
Do you “experts” believe the business as normal is still working?
Do you have the faintest clue as to why Trump was elected and continues to grow his support?

Faith in our institutions and the people who staff/infest them is where?
    Going up? Anywhere?

The easiest votes the PPC will get are x conservative/reform.
Harper betrayed us,feathering the brakes does not a fiscal collapse avert.
    The welfare state is Canada.

Voting PPC is an easy way of saying”F.U”.
To the institutionalized kleptocracy that is Confederated Canada.

Guess what? It cannot be reformed, not when 1/4 of the voters are on the take.60% of voters vote Gimmee gimmeee gimmeee.

Cannot be reformed short of bankruptcy.
    Cannot be afforded.
    So unfixable until full collapse.
That is the “lesson” of reform.

I am not holding my nose and voting “least evil” again.
Useless exercise will never result in a Country I can willingly support and tolerate the theft by government that income tax represents.

You know! That temporary income tax.
And the Temporary Goods and Services tax and the Tax on fuel to finance road repair and on and on.

None of these creatures seeking to “lead” us have any plan to STOP the STEALING.

So enough already with the “Split the vote”.
You are either a fool or a bandit, when you insist on repeating an exercise in futility.

As a Western Canadian I will happily see Canada collapse under the reign of Justine. There is no case for continuing Confederated Canada. So my voting of Bernier’s henchmen is a twofer.

I get to show what I really think of the collapsing welfare state and will see the emergence of a country in which our children have a future, in my life time.
    To the Max.

Now if you believe Canada is worth saving, make the case for her continuance.
Show me how we can have a future in Confederated Canada.
    Otherwise ;Go soak your head.

    1. As I’ve saidelsewhere, we’re picking up a lot of people in our riding that haven’t been in politics before, all ages, races and (wait for it) …

      … creeds.

OK Who thought I was going to say “sexes”?

    2. Well, yes it is and Max is the only option. The establishment is only interested in its own embelishment.

  30. “You CPC morons don’t get it, Canada is done if Trudeau or Scheer get’s back in and it’s only Max and the PPC that can save us.

    Fixed it for you

No It’s Scheer and the globalist CPC who moved center left so bad that Max had no choice but leave and start the PPC.

    I’m sure glad he did

We Canadians finally have a real conservative option so we no longer have to vote LibCons this coming election

    Thank God

Canadians have waited patiently for a real third option and now that we have the PPC were not going to throw the opportunity out of kicking the globalists Islamist loving LibCons to the curb.

We’re going to Max-imize Canada for all Canadians

    Want to buy a hat?

      1. ” Max didn’t want to join [Libertarian Party of Canada].” Anyone know why?

Flashback: Manning Center speech March 2009: Stephen Harper tells libertarians there is no room for them in the CPC.
Stephen Harper used to be a libertarian but saw the light on the road to Damascus.
What did Harper accomplish attacking the libertarians other than turn many off from voting CPC.
In my opinion “Faith, Family, Freedom” can be ensured by a government restricted to protecting our lives, liberties, and property.

        (couldn’t find actual speech)
        https://montrealsimon.blogspot.com/2010/07/stephen-harper-census-and-libertarians.html

  31. turdo has a blow-up doll
    He calls it Andy Scheer
    It doesn’t talk
    But bends a lot
And grins from ear to ear.

  32. I’ve read all these comments, and there are a bunch of good arguments in them. That said, If I thought Max had a chance, I might vote for him! He doesn’t! Therefore he is simply splitting the vote. I will hold my nose and support Scheer’s party, cuz Peter Pan has gotta go! For me, that is priority one. After that, Max will have four years to establish himself and his shiny new party,
and then hopefully be a force to vote for. Right now it has never been simpler, the drama queen has got to go!

    1. The establishment strategy is to make you think Max has no chance; they deny him air time; newspaper stories; offer fake polls which don’t even have PPC as an option, etc.

Don’t be hoodwinked; Max is offering policies favored by a majority of the population. Yes, not all agree on all the policies but he is much more rounded than the establishment running dogs who take their cues from the CBC and UNIFOR.

He is a candidate of substance; can you say that about the others?

    1. Canada is not a self sufficient economy. Because so many of the goods Canadians purchase are imported, Max cannot guarantee the price will remain stable. Likewise, since so many of the services Canadians purchase are provided by Unionized labour, Max cannot guarantee that the price of union labour will remain constant.
Therefore, Max has limited control over the price of goods and services. A promise of zero percent inflation is just so much Free Speech.

I do recall a previous Prime Minister who had a zero percent inflation rate policy. He championed price and wage freezes all around.
His name was Pierre Trudeau and the economic period of his regime was known as STAGFLATION. Not a good era.

      1. Inflation is a measurement of a change in the value of a unit of currency over time. When a unit of current of currency loses buying power over time, the currency is said to be experiencing inflation; when the currency gains buying power, it is said to be experiencing deflation. Inflation is usually measured as a percentage, usually as the percentage by which a currency inflated in a single year. An inflation rate of zero means the currency did not change in value.

Brilliant idea Max. Now if I may, what I’d really like to see is an indepth independent investigation into how it is that Canadians have been borrowing from foreign lenders since 1973? It was PET who first borrowed from the BIS. Since then we have been taking on water like a dingy in the ocean even though we have a bank whose mandate is to lend to the 3 branches at low to no interest. How can the fed govt knowingly steal from its citizens without a shred of accountabilty ever being thrown back on them? I would be very happy to to be a part of a team which researches and investigates this if you were to win.

This must be corrected! Its not only wrong, its criminal! And those who engaged in this must be brought to justice!

      2. This is frankly nonsense. Inflation has nothing to do with ‘self sufficiency’. If the unit of account is stable, there’s no inflation. Period.

      3. Fear mongering from the LibCon party faithful.
        Get your facts straight.
Where did Max promise “zero price inflation”?
PET had a ZERO per cent inflation policy? BS! Inflation was running around 10% back then.

Did you miss that part of the video that the central bankers who are pushing inflation at a 2% minimum ?
And they are scared sh*less of price deflation cuz the serfs won’t be able to pay the rent on the money they owe and the rent on the money the governments have borrowed because then the ponzi comes crashing down like in 2008.

Bond markets aren’t pricing in inflation. The central banks can’t even drive inflation at the targeted 2% with their ZERO interest rate policies. Never could a la Japan, but let’s keep trying. Meanwhile the rent on the accumulating debt is takes its toll in economies.

The central banks got us into this mess. They keep filling the punch bowl so the pols can spend ever more on vote buying.
We will see stagflation after the central banks start dropping the helicopter money to save the ponzi.

        https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-08-20/pimco-starts-dumping-bonds-fears-helicopter-money-around-corner

P.S. And thanks for stepping up to the plate @Jack Wagon August 20, 2019 at 7:31 pm.

  33. I see the bun fight is still on.

    Sigh

Lets reboot this thread with the tag line at the beginning.
    “The possibilities are endless”

Think about all the issues previous conservative politicians have ran away from because they didn’t want to endure the bad things the press gallery would say to them when they get interviewed.
    Why did they do that?
They did it because they knew the deck was stacked against them because a plethora of presstitutes and pundits for the other side could act with impunity under the guise of “expert opinion” instead of what they are, political proxies.
So how do you change this situation?
You make them play by the new rules.
    Just like Max did.
Now the environmental party is subject to losing their charitable status if they pull the same garbage they have been for the last number of years, and they don’t like it.

There is a golden opportunity here.

So rather than continue with the bun fight, go work for one campaign or the other. But remember who the real enemy is.
Its not Max and its not Andy.

    1. You lost me when you said the enemy is Its not Andy.

Trudeau 2 is as much the enemy as Trudeau 1

      No thanks

  34. At this point, Max seems set on vindicating the collective decision to take Scheer over him. Max says dumb things he based his awful immigration policies on a “study” that was showcased today in the FP. It’s garbage. The nutters in charge of this study don’t understand how numbers work.

  35. Bolsonaro Won’t WIN
    Salvini Won’t Win
    Bernier Won’t Win
    Duque Won’t Win
    Zelenskiy Won’t Win
    Trump Won’t Win
    Farage Won’t Win

The media really needs to stop making predictions.

BTW, % is undecided in Canada? Why has that been omitted from every “poll”?

  36. Rather than get involved in this fracas I’ll leave you with this link.

    https://townhall.com/tipsheet/cortneyobrien/2019/08/20/piers-morgan-todays-leftists-are-unbearable-n2551967

This is especially for all of you who think that Bernier is splitting the vote look around, sanity is finally on the horizon. Voters world wide are starting to revolt at the ‘free lunch’ crowd that think the taxpayer can pay for everything. The taxpayers are beginning to realize that they have been taken for a ride and they are looking for alternative solutions to the problems that have been foisted upon them. Trump, and Farage are the vanguards of the future, the trough feeders (globalists, and the UN) are scared sh*tless that this movement catches on. The upcoming election in Canada will be a deciding factor in where we will end up. You either vote for the status quo and continue down the road of no return with Lib/Con/NDP/Green or you do an about face and vote for someone who has offered an alternative. Your Choice!

  37. Following the many good points here.
