  1. All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

Private jets ain’t gonna pay for themselves, when you are hobnobbing with other committed socialists at $25,000 a plate dinners on private yachts in tropical paradises.

Boxer and the other cart horses should know their place.

    1. Socialists start with a fixed pie and they keep cutting into smaller and smaller pieces, so everyone gets their ‘fair share’. It is the philosophy of the shrinking/disappearing economy. That, and the stupid idea that THEY should run everything.

Conservatives see a pie and they make it bigger so every one has a shot at a decent paycheck … if you do something of value. And whether you do stupid shit or shit that has value to others it is your choice from the jump …. and maybe run the damned thing yourself. A better way.

Choose wisely or become an envy-absorbed whiner.

  2. As a younger lad I was happy to volunteer for political campaigns because of the idea I was doing something for the greater good. Fringe benefits were lots of food and networking.

It looks as if Soros, Move-on and other rent-a-mobs have poisoned the volunteer well for generations to come.

  3. all together now
If we stand with working people we can Feel the Bern
    Feel the Bern
    Feel the Bern
    We can Feel the Bern

    1. Joe Biden was heard to mutter “I don’t want to feel the burn. He’s too old, and the wrong sex.”

  4. Montgomery Bernie probably cackled with glee behind the scenes when he pulled it off…so sad…

  5. “Bernie Sanders cutting hours instead of paying his staff what they asked for”

    Correction …

“Bernie Sanders cutting hours and paying his staff what they asked for”

They just didn’t think before asking. Just like those who’d vote for Bernie.

  6. Annual salary of $36K for a 60 hour week is $11.54/hr. (comment under picture says the salary and hours worked, but error in calculating hourly value. Socialized education anyone?)

At $15/hr they would work 46 ish hours per week for a $36K annual income. Still too many hours for too small a sum and no future.

People are quitting due to pay level, not the hours worked.

They will now have more hours to go work at flipping burgers.

  7. I guess all those … “millions of small donations” … don’t quite add-up

PS … BLESS YOU Kate … for giving us a dose of Tim Pool … without the 30 minute podcast!! You’re the BEST!!

  8. It seems that nobody knows about B. Sanders economics.

    One sez:
    Darren Wong @darrenmwong
I support Yang, but this reporting is just hit piece material. Sanders pays his workers a salary based on $15 full time, but some ppl worked too many hours. It’s a bad oversight, but that’s it. He’s the reason other candidates are using a $15 wage for campaign employees.

    Another sez:
    Darrick Vanderwier @pour_mea_coffee
    1) So this begs the question… is he still paying them $15 for 40hrs and limiting any extra unpaid hrs… or is he cutting hrs back to $15 for 30hrs and still allowing 20+ unpaid “free” hrs?

    Yet another:
    Ruthven78 @ruthven78
They are paid a set salary, originally paced for 40hr week which worked out to be $15/hr. Then they started making some work 60hr weeks for the same salary making the hourly equivalent $13/hr. So now employees will be hard capped at 40hr work weeks.

One can gather that these people are just trying to defend Sanders and pretend to know what the deal is.
So what the hell is the deal?
    Who to believe?

    1. The New York Times (Pravda) and WaPo (Izvestia) are my unimpeachable sources for the truth and news. (As long as you remember ‘there’s no truth in Pravda and no news in Izvestia.’ And that in Russian, ”pravda” means truth and ”izvestia” means news.)

      1. Actually the classic line went: “there is no pravda in Izvestia and no izvestia in Pravda”.

  9. Hmmm… No one has yet gone to the root of the problem.

Why was government, any government, allowed to assume the power to set wages, set racial quotas, set gender quotas, in the first place?

By the time they are talking minimum wage level, you’ve already lost.

    1. Agreed, though it is so far beyond the point you’re bringing up that yer average plebeian can’t even see it from here.
It most certainly should not be forgotten and brought up every time as a remainder as how far down the slide things are and argument against it.

    2. Same as enforced Employment Insurance. Its a joke that takes just under 4% off everyone’s paycheque. Why can’t it be a private insurance? Oh yeah, that’s right, if the EI fund gets super big the government can just steal the fund and pay down the debt they created because they’re fiscal morons, thieves and c**ksuckers.

      1. There is NO “lock box” of “invested” tax or fee remittances. The government saves NOTHING. As taxes and remittances pile up … government E-X-P-A-N-D-S to consume the positive cash flow … and turn it negative again. $$$ expands the cancer of government. Feeds the cancer of government.

My most bitter disappointment of Ronald Reagan, was that he promised to shrink the size of government … which actually expanded under his watch

  10. Typical socialist hypocrisy, duplicity and willful blindness to economic reality. No vision, just bitching, especially about Trump.
No ability to contextualize. Good example; Trump asked how he likes Melania being told to go home.
Hmm, last time I looked, Melanie is quite happy to live in the US, unlike the chronic complainers and haters on the left.
Unlike them, she actually had a career. They are all one term blunders, to be corrected at the constituency and national level.
In the face of higher minimum wages, that is what employers do, they cut service by cutting staff for the same labour cost.
Hey Bernie, now that you’ve been given a real life in economics 101, maybe you can understand surplus value of labour?
After all your buddy Karl and his band of genocidal totalitarians championed that idea; but socialists wish to expropriate that.
Leading to the mother of all transactions of decline, on a societal, industrial and polity level.
Bottom line: socialists in free enterprise society only get attention because of the attendant prosperity and comforts it allows.
IOW free enterprise and individualism (I eschew Marxist terms like capitalist which implies big business), allow flights of fancy.
Big business, big government, big labour. To heck with them all, let them fend for themselves. Enough is enough.

    1. shammy, Trump’s “racist” tweet was neither racist nor anti immigrant, as some lefty nut jobs would have you believe. And Melanie is a prime example of a immigrant who is a positive to her new country, and lefties don’t like that.

      1. I never believed it because only an idiot would take their word for it, like CBC’s declaration of Trump’s “racist tweet.”

So I checked it for myself and saw it as age old USA: lover her or leave her. Unlike the mediocracy I observe context.

If they don’t like what Trump says, they should stop chucking shit at him, based on their confirmation bias and bigotry.

He responds in kind and their superiority complex takes a big hit when he doesn’t cower like a good RINO.

Anyway, this racism nonsense is like the boy he cried wolf. Nobody cares. Voters intuitively know it’s all partisan.

The Bush’s were racists, so was Reagan, and of course Nixon.

Appealing to the 30% that is the radicalized Dem base is not a good strategy imho.

    1. Sid, unDork may be googling an answer for “how does burnknee’s” 2 successive million dollar income years” jell with this. Sanders is a joke that is not laffable!

    2. He is researching the favorite sports team of his mother and her many friends, the one he heard them cheering for while he was locked in the basement “The Domebabies”.

  11. Apparently $7/hour and 40 hours a week is not a living wage, but $15/hour and 10 hours is. Welcome to the world of Bernieomics.

  12. Seriously not sorry this backfired on Bernie.

In my world – trying to keep small businesses afloat – it was not so much the issue of raising the minimum wage as the bump-up expected by those who were above the old minimum wage and now expected their wages to also be raised to maintain the same differential.

Not that the minimum change didn’t matter: had a client with a kid above minimum wage originally but was okay; as minimum wage was raised and said kid got appropriate increases, didn’t notice any improvement in work ethics and ability. Fortunately, said kid quit before last mandated wage increase, as would have otherwise been let go for lack of performance.

However, that digression ignores the main problem: when you raise the minimum wage, you raise the expectations of all employees who expect to be a certain amount above minimum wage. The entity maybe able to absorb the raise in minimum wage but not the expectations of those whose wages are just above minimum wage and who do expect the differential to continue even if they’re not producing enough value to give them the increases they now think they deserve.

  13. Anybody able to get the Ontario Liberals on the record?
For when small businesses had to reduce the employee hours due to the new minimum wage, they were greedy evil bastards, according to cbc and the Liberals.
    Now when it bites Bernie?
    Crickets?
Government is too stupid to be allowed into business, there already is a minimum wage,it is zero.
But government welfare prevents reality getting through.

  14. Frances, and one of the main drivers of this minimum wage (living wage) nonsense is the unions. They can then demand a larger raise for their members, and thusly they can increase their dues.
