According to Saul Alinsky in his “Rules for Radicals”, 8 levels of control are needed to achieve a socialist state:
The first is the most important.
1) Healthcare — Control the people’s health and you control the people;
2) Poverty — Increase the poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you give them what they need to live;
3) Debt — Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you can increase taxes, which in turn will generate even more poverty;
4) Gun Control — Remove the ability of people to defend themselves from the Government. That way you can create a police state.
5) Welfare — Take control of every aspect of a person’s life (Food, Housing, Jobs and Income).
6) Education — Take control of what people read and listen to — take control of what children study in school.
7) Religion — Remove the belief in God from Government and schools.
8) Class Warfare — Divide the people into wealthy and poor. This will cause discontent and make it easier to increase taxes across the board without loosing the support of the poor by making everyone think you will only tax the rich!

The estimate is that 20-25% of people in the workforce in Canada are employed by the government.
Add to that their spouses, children and hangers on plus the indolent, the unemployable, the French and most of the inmates of Canadas half a dozen largest cities and it’s surprising that the Right gets as many votes as it does in this socialist popsicle state.
Some things to consider: This election is not about Andrew Scheer any more than 2015 was about Trudeau. 2015 was a referendum on Harper. He lost. This election will be a referendum on Trudeau only if the Conservatives choose to make that their central theme in Ontario. Linking Scheer to Ford is a good strategy but linking Trudeau to Wynne is a better one. The cons attack ads should concentrate on this theme in Ontario. There should be a constant drum beat of all the disgusting, disingenuous and divisive things he has done. I wouldn’t have Andy’s face in any of these ads, all Trudeau/Wynne all the time.
The election of Donald Trump proved a fact, people are more motivated to vote against someone or something than they are to vote for someone or something. In Trump’s case, it was Hillary and the Obama democrats. The conservatives need to learn the lesson from the 2015 US election.
Get rid of that stupid “Nice Hair though” ad. It did not work the last time and will be even less effective this time around. Using it again is just too dumb. The only thing worse than making a mistake is sticking with it.

Only one problem: the CPC doesn’t offer a choice. They agree on every major part of the Liberal platform. Yes, they have criticized Trudles, for not living up to the greatness of PET.

If an election were held in Ontario today Wynne would win.
The American’s have lamented for years that they are governed by a single party with 2 heads.
I know that the Ford government has made some missteps, but nothing disastrous in my view. I cannot believe anyone would want Wynne back. They would have to be massocists.
Speaking as a Trump voter, I would suggest two important corrections to your analysis;
1. I wasn’t voting against HER. I was voting against the GOPe’s, and against the (D’s). I was voting for a THIRD PARTY. I was voting for CHANGE. I was voting AGAINST the Political Class of Deep Stater’s who have systematically RUINED America during their tenure.
2. (D) voters stayed home. Voting-for “the First woman POTUS” had none of the allure of voting-for “the FIRST half-black POTUS”. And since SHE torpedoed Bernie Sanders WAVE of support … SHE was punished by disaffected (Democretins).
Trump was NOT elected because people HATED HER. We all mostly DO … HATE HER … but that was not the primary reason to dump HER “entitled” ass to the curb. SHE was just on the other side of CHANGE.
