  1. Interesting. I’ll have to look at the paper when my copy of that issue of Science arrives.

  2. That’s very cool, eh Kate? ~:D Something so weird that nobody was even looking for it, but there it is. This is why I love physics.

    1. Something tells me that our secret LASER cannons just got an order of magnitude more destructive … as we “torque” the beam on our target. I propose we do more testing somewhere over Iran.

  3. I will put that up there with information that I will never use, interesting but…..

    1. OT but hey Mr. Film Maker Guy.
A switch that blows up the earth should be a bit more elaborate and dramatic than that; not look like something that came from Walmart and cost about 1.99 + tx.

      1. NOLD – You must work for the gov’t. Why use a $2 switch, when a $100 switch will do the job…of keeping our budget artificially high! /sarc off

  4. So if light can be torqued what’s the effect of using that torqued light on matter? Could that torque be used to create an effect around matter like how Bernoulli’s principle creates lift from using laminar flowing gas over a curved surface except with photon energy? Could be a very interesting discovery. Maybe even something similar could be done with another energy force: gravity. Maybe Man is meant to boldly go somewhere and do it quick.
