  1. I think the biggest concern is still that the anti-Trump Federal Reserve might start spiking interest rates to throw the US into recession. Everything keeps going right for Trump and it is enraging Democrats.

    1. Exactly. Financial sabotage is all they have left if they’re serious about thrusting Sleepy Joe Biden into office.

That was why it was imperative that Stephen Moore and Herman Cain sit on the Fed board—to make sure that if they considered engineering a financial crisis for even a moment, the Board of Governors would have two witnesses to testify against them.

    2. Ironically … our economy is BOOMING … because MY President criticized the IDIOTIC, political, decision by the FED to raise rates at the end of 2018 which directly led to Slaughterhausen Dec. 24 on the US Stock Market. MY President was RIGHT to call them out for their idiocy. Oh, and guess who was right? Yep. MY President. Today … we have extremely low inflation AND economic growth and superheated economic activity. Because … President Trump called-out the FED’s politically-motivated idiocy.

Oh … and BTW … ZERO (even negative) interest rates throughout the ENTIRE Obama 8-years. And never did he achieve what Trump has with his cut of usurious Corporate Tax rates, not to mention personal income tax rates.

      1. Obama’s economic policy’s were so bad, the Fed could not have raised rates for the entire presidency. I think the Fed knows it has to return to the traditional overnight rate, just so they can get ready for the next recession.

Trump just had to stop the stupid regulations on coal and oil and the economy naturally rebounded like it should have eight years ago right after the recession. Now we need to keep Oil less than $80 per barrel or the next recession will be baked in.

    3. I definately think this is a Main Street driven, I have no stats but I suspect lots of small businesses and one-man outfits are hiring one moire poerson as the tax cuts and deregulation helps them make and keep their money.

  2. Never underestimate the power of stupid people, both in the United States and in Canada. I am certainly very glad about the strength of the markets (I am benefiting) but having watched programs like “Life or Debt” on television, there are many American families, supposedly in the middle class, who are making very bad economic decisions because they have no idea of how to budget their family’s finances. They are one paycheque away from losing their homes because they want all the toys (such as 4 vacations per year, a boat, expensive furniture, a television in every room etcetra). The same can be said about the majority of Canadian families. I personally know of 2 couples, seemingly very well-off (the aforementioned 4 vacations per year, the boat, the expensive furniture), who have used the rise in value of their homes as an ATM to finance their lifestyles. Both have said they must work until 75 (another 10 years) in order to pay off their mortgages and lines of credit.
I truly am pleased that the American economy is doing so well and hope it will continue. I just wish that Home Economics had not been cancelled in middle school and that more people understood money and its power better. I wish our governments understood that as well.

    1. I am, reluctantly, inclined to agree. One need only recall the biased gong show voters permitted that got Dustbin elected.
The DeMarxists know if they can keep it close for now, they have a chance in 2020 of taking back power, their means and end.
Make them feel guilty but tell them somebody else will assuage and pay it for them. Think of it as saviour politics.
Except they’re false prophets of course. Remember how Trudeau had “modest” deficits? No?
Do you recall he put the OAS age back to 65? No? Worked with the Natives? No?
Unless and until we electorally punish politicians who lie for our votes, how can we expect them to change their behaviour?
It’s ultimately on us and like you I’m sure if we’re up for the task. We know it’s an illusion, but we still fall for sunny ways.
Add cannibal conservatism to the mix and frankly I don’t like our chances anymore if that effect gets any traction.
Imho, Canadians in general will have to take a serious economic beatdown while being told to shut up for anything to change.
The depraved indifference and identity hysteria censorship currently in vogue in DeMarxist land is coming here any day now.

    2. Gail vaz Oxlade, a Canadian, should speak to classes in every school (host of “Money Moron,” “Princess,” and “Til Debt Do Us Part”…She’s written books about money management, and she takes no guff from anyone. Her shows used to be on the Slice network, and we watched them all. “Princess” was made for indulged children.

    3. But really? Is it that f**king hard? At what single digit age do people learn basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division? There is not more understanding needed then very simple math.

  3. The Demonrats absolutely hate – HATE – that Trump put people back to work. They would positively celebrate high unemployment numbers, which is what would happen if they took office.

      1. Funny how PM Turnip gets credit for Canadian success and Harper gets the blame when it skids.

      2. alla S, 4.7% by who’s counting. Context my little lady, context. You lefties never seam to be able to do context.

  4. It’s important to work for someone else…

    Isaiah 47:13-15 KJV
    (13)  Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
    (14)  Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.
    (15)  Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.

    E. W. Bullinger writes – astrologers. The scientists of Babylon were divided into three classes: writers of (1) charms to be placed on afflicted persons or houses; (2) formulae of incantations; (3) records of observations which mixed up astronomy with astrology, and resulted, in the case of any two successive or concurrent events, in the conclusion that one was the cause of the other; and, the further conclusion was reached by reasoning from the “particular” to the “general”.

  5. Speaking of recessions…

In Canada, there will always be another Liberal government, eventually.

In Canada, all governments are eastern governments.

The west, cannot survive, another Liberal government.

The west cannot survive another eastern government.

If you are a westerner, and not pushing everyone you know to UDI; you are pushing for suicide and giving your children to slavers; not selling, GIVING AWAY.

Pretty clear any “leader” who is not a separatist, is on the eastern take.

No legal way forward inside Canada, because it don’t haz rule of law.

    1. “Pretty clear any “leader” who is not a separatist, is on the eastern take.”
Yep and that applies to Saskatchewan premier Scott Moe. It’s Canada all the way for him.

    1. That’s the Obama who feels insulted because Americans have turned against him and his wondrous legacy. What a putz.

  6. Yup, Obama had everything on the move and Trump simply inherited the windfall. My retired school teacher sister was quick to inform me. As already pointed out the fact that Obama couldn’t get even 2% GDP growth in 8 years means nothing. I won’t let things like that slide anymore but any argument I make simply does not register. The idea that Trump efforts have created millions of jobs, means nothing. Trump supporters are ill educated rednecks who are fools.

The expected result of the Trump success is inflation. Problem is that demographics, robotics and labors continuing loss of revenue dollars share is working against any demand strength.

All of this means nothing when the inevitable debt hammer drops. It will happen, likely within the next 2 years, and when it does we will all experience ‘Venezula’.

  7. Meanwhile ,Canada surges ahead.
    With negative growth.
THIS WILL BE HAILED AS SUCCESS.
    By our progressive comrades.
    The budget will balance itself.

    1. We had a “surplus “ last month, or was that “less spending” than budgeted?
Or was it because of the floods?

  8. Almost 2.5 years after leaving office, Obama’s economic policies are finally coming to fruition! These policies were of such genius that even an economic simpleton like Trump could not derail them!

    1. yes PeePee, and could you send that post to the turd turnip so he can emulate Ben Dover McEars:-)))
