How are things on the ground? I would like to see the Alberta NDP perform like the Ontario Liberals last time around, and get deep-sixed. The question is how many seats the NDP opposition will hold; they could get as many as 30 or as little as 5, depending on turnout.     2. I had a Nanos pollster call me last night at supper asking if I could take their poll. I asked the person where they were calling from: Ontario.

      I asked what the poll was regarding: The Alberta Election.

      I asked what business an Ontario company had in the AB election: “We are a world-wide company”.

      My radar said this was not something I wanted to be caught up in. I then forcefully told the pollster that they should stop meddling in our provincial election, they had no business trying to manipulate us. No idea why I went off on them.

      So, I looked up Nanos and browsed through their past poll results. Pretty much left wing stuff from what I could see. Lots of CTV/Bloomberg sponsored polls, so my radar seemed right.

      I know pollsters mine data, but they ask questions whilst manufacturing their desired results and framing the questions to lead towards those desired ends.

      The only real poll which matters is Tuesday’s election poll.

    Kenney says he will set up an investigation to look at and fully expose the anti-oil funding. No wonder Nutley is going all out with the dirty campaign.

    1. Interesting article…except it doesn’t explain how the United States, much less the Rockefellers, gain from restricting production and sale of Albertan ethical oil.

      That’s because they don’t. In the long run, globalism is in nobody’s interest. It’s a recipe for the destruction of civilization, and the human race with it.

      The goal of the Rockefellers is not to prop up investments in marginal US oil producers (which they could easily sell) but to reduce the population and the living standard of the West to pre-industrial levels.

A.C., I think the Rockefellers and other billionaire-foundations are attacking Alberta energy (successfully I might add) because they realize that, as a land–locked province, Albrrta’s energy is vulnerable to pipeline shutdowns. In the U.S., this isn’t so, since they have pipelines running everywhere. True, the U.S. foundations’ handiwork hurts the U.S. economy, but isn’t that what they want? And besides, the foundations’ upper crust are well,paid. They are happy to hurt energy workers, so long as the foundations’ management get their fat paychecks.         1. Well, not everywhere. Seattle is stranded by US pipe and only supplied by the Trans Mountain pipeline from guess where? Kanaduh. Their only other input is tankers from Alaska.

          BC is a weird place…they take Alberta crude via Seattle refiners (gas & jet fuel) while their diesel stuff is from the dinky CDN refinery in Burrard Inlet. They then block the same crude from being shipped into BC for export, all while shipping 22 million tonnes of COAL from Point Roberts to China. They get the CO2 “pollution” with the westerly winds.

          It isn’t strange that a Quebec originated company called SNC Lavalin is now in line to build TM’s expansion, once their legal problems are sanitized? That is if the pipe will ever be laid. Trust the LPOC on anything? Remember the GST? The JWR fight was about votes in Kaybeque, nothing else. She was the Patsy on this.

          Don’t know how Kenny can block oil going down TM as it is, unless there is some export permitting that might get in the way.

          If he does block it, expect a call from Trump about it.

Shut rail transit through Alberta going east and west, shut down truck transport through Alberta and kick the RCMP out all at the same time. There is No Rule Of Law in Canada anymore.           2. GST? Brings back memories about all the hoopla about Harper lowering taxes. Some at the time said he should be lowering income taxes instead. And lo and behold the provinces then hit us with the HST. Harper paid Ontario $4 billion to introduce it. It’s not about the merits or not of the GST cut. It’s about having been deceived & played. He should have said we are lowering the GST in order to put in the HST.

        2. It actually helps the US oil industry. They get cheap Alberta oil well below the cost of US crude for their refineries and when you factor in the exchange rate it becomes very cheap. It also benefits Warren Buffet who owns most of the rolling stock that hauls Alberta Oil by rail. Buffet donated millions to Obama’s campaigns. Kenney should take the US to the WTO. Is this really different than lumber?

          1. Don’t waste your time with the WTO, export via Alaska. Rail and pipe. Cut BC out of the picture entirely. They are already talking about it in Alaska and I posted here a few years ago on how short it is to Alaska and doable. Saves several DAYS of tanker time to Asia.

            The Alaska Hwy is where the original pipe lines were laid during WW2, to supply fuel for trucks and aircraft shipping into Russia. We’re idiots not to use that route today.

        – the US gets oil at lower prices
        – Canadian companies that have refineries (or ownership positions in US refineries) end up making more money in the US and paying US taxes, instead of making that money in Alberta.

        Any time there is an excess oil oil or natural gas chasing pipeline space the price producers get goes down. I remember a shortage of gas pipelines in Pennsylvania, and producers were selling at $1/mcf. Where there was pipeline capacity they were getting $3/mcf

Meanwhile Bernier has taken heat from Scheer and the CPC for taking a stand.

    And PS. Some need to self censure what they say in any public forumn, e.g. Yellow Vest.ca face book page because in the end they hurt the cause. This comes down to a 24/7 battle for hearts and minds…and this goes beyond any election. There is an existential threat to civilization.

  12. Yeah, that RCMP raid on a UCP candidate one week before the election pretty much did it for me. All my life I’ve respected cops, sworn officers of the crown doing difficult, dangerous and thoroughly unpleasant work to serve and protect. From now on the RCMP will be Liberal Party goons in my book. I blame political appointments at the top but the rank and file, in the end, are unionized government employees and, if history teaches us anything about human behaviour, cops, if told to do so, will cheerfully load people into box cars.

    What I’m going to be looking at today is who the other candidates in that riding are, there may be some rising lefty star…

      1. Our “conservatives” out here at the time (Stelmach) issued a twenty year contract for police services RCMP. High River door kickers, in the riding of the leader of the Wild Rose Party was the result. Ms Redford, another “conservative” seemed rather bitchy at the time with the other female Party leader. Big cat fight.

        1. Contracts can be terminated very fast. The RCMP has always been a make work project for Quebec and Eastern Canada.

Simply restart the Alberta Provincial Police and contract Edmonton City Police to provide administration and train new cops for the Edmonton bedroom communities. They are trained to be stupid and hostile to the people.

          1. Here is the kicker. Constitutionally Ottawa creates Criminal Law. But the Constitution leaves it up to the Province to enforce all laws. The new Premier needs to have strong Provincial oversight of the RCMP. He needs to get rid of the RCMP senior staff that report to Ottawa. He should appoint an Alberta Superintendent over all Policing in Alberta reporting to the Premier directly. Change all laws in Alberta that allow Municipal control of Legal decisions as in direction to Police and reporting by police. The Premier should use his discretion as to what laws and orders from Ottawa he will allow to be enforced. As his Constitutional Powers allow. What has been going on is the RCMP have had no oversight by the Premier and the Attorney General has been a rubber stamp for Ottawa. Edmonton should be the one hiring and supervising the Chiefs of Police all over the Province, not the local Mayors who are all NDP or Liberal scallywags. When he investigates foreign money flowing into anti Pipelines he needs to investigate all out of Province Funds flowing into Municipalities and their greasy politicians as well. The Mayor of Vancouver was funded by Soros in his Municipal Election. Round them up and shut them down. Slap down all Indian Bands that have been on the take as well.

        3. Redford had to know what went on in High River. If it wasn’t her it was the AG.

          The rcmp have no validity as a municipal police force. They are poorly trained and never become part of any community they police. They do not police one major city in the country.

          If Alberta cancelled the rcmp contract with Ottawa that would pretty much bring to a conclusion the rcmp as a municipal police force. That would be a good thing for the provinces and the rcmp.

    2. Whenever I hear about someone like her, I have to think of my parents. They were born in Berlin during the time when Adolph and the boys were in charge. They survived bombing raids by the British and the Americans. They lived through the invasion and occupation by the Red Army. All that happened to them before they were teenagers and they had to do what was necessary to not only stay alive but help their respective families as well.

      Roughly 10 years later, they met and got married. Both of them were barely 20, though they were journeymen in their respective trades by then. My father left for Canada when he was 21, knowing enough English to get by. He worked in Sherbrooke for while before making his way to Edmonton. My mother and I came the following year.

      Imagine going to another continent with an infant, to start a new life in a country where the main language isn’t one’s mother tongue, doing that before one is 25.
