April 1, 2019: Reader Tips

It’s Carbon Tax Day. Don’t be sad.

And you sat in a chair thinking, “Boy, I’m such a prince”
Well, life’s a train that goes from February on day by day
But it’s making a stop on April first

For this is either the first step to the Trudeau government losing power, or the first step to Western Independence. Win, win.

  1. “the first step to Western Independence. Win, win.” Western? Western B.C. has no reason to Independence-ize! The real question is: Would a land locked country of Buffalo work?

    1. Yes the Republic of Alberta would thrive. Alberta sent 600B to the corrupt gangsters in Ottawa and we are still here. If Alberta is smart they go immediately UDI, Unilateral Declaration of Independence. By doing this all treaty’s made by Ottawa are voided, none of Ottawa’s courts would have a say on anything. And Alberta could immediately make a deal with the USA on any matter they so chose.
Under International Law on the Laws concerning Landlocked States, of which Ottawa is a signatory. Landlocked countries must be given right of way for trade, pipelines rail and road access.
So yah Alberta would be fine, and would quickly become one of the richest jurisdictions in the world. It’s coming. The Republic of Alberta is taking shape in the hearts of Albertan’s.

        1. I like those policies and hopefully Scott Moe will adopt the same or similar policies, and soon.

    2. We dont NEED BC whatsoever…once Ab-Sask votes to say adios..?? Expect Mb, NWT & the Yukon to join us.

Presenting us with 3 Tidewater choices:
1: Valdez – deep water yr round port – the Alsakans have already said they’d love to see our product their Trans Alaskan system.
2: Tuktoyuktuk utiliziing the MKenzie river Valley. yes we would need to dredge out a channel.
      3: Churchill, Mb

My money would be with VALDEZ. No need to build a port, dredge channels or avoid Icebergs…just Need to build 3+ 42″ pipelines to Valdez.

      1. The dirty RCMP are working to take down Kenney. Anyone charged in Adscam or Lavscam or any Liberal scam ever.

    1. This is big and it all leads to Obama and Hillary. The greatest act of Treason in the History of the USA. Obama is preparing his move to Wakanda.

    1. Try again Doug. It works on both Firefox and another that I tried.
Otherwise, go to the Gateway Pundit site, this news is BIG. The Dems are falling apart.

    2. again, some browsers or web sites whatever dont allow ‘hot links’, if a mouse click balks, try a copy & paste of the url into a blank tab.

      anways, works fer me !!!

  2. My preferred solution would be Canada’s negotiating a union with the United States—after both countries had been purged of their globalist fifth columns—finally healing the division of British North America.

As it is, the Canadian armed forces, useless as they are for peacekeeping or border security, will be only too happy to use live ammunition on Albertans for having the gall to leave Pierre Trudeau’s globalist dystopia.

The only hope for the new western independent state would be military intervention by the United States on behalf of a people seeking, and deserving of, self-determination. Could westerners count on that?

    1. We The People

      1st Amendment
      Second Amendment

      What’s not to like..

There is a financial storm coming that will destroy all of our fiat currencies and the corrupt cabals that currently are in charge will want to enslave us all for the culling of mankind down to 500 million souls only.

That is why they want to disarm us all so they can kill us all.

      I say fuck you…

We fight for our God given right to life…

      1. I’m with you on that….and concur.

        1 name: Rothchilds – the ORIGINAL NAZI’s
The word Benevolence is inapplicable to that crew.

    2. Albertan’s will quickly defend themselves. Bet on it. The Canadian Military would get taught a lesson, that is if they even would fight. The dirty RCMP on the other hand would have to be frog marched to the border. There are very few Albertan’s who are in the RCMP inside Alberta. The RCMP is a make work project for Eastern Canada anyway.

      1. “Albertan’s will quickly defend themselves.”

You talking about the same Alberta that hasn’t even been able to plug up the Legislature grounds or block the trans-Canada in protest?

        THAT Alberta ?

        1. Just more sad fantasists who dream of an imaginary Western Unicorn Republic rather than do anything concrete to change their sad lot in life (like refusing to pay their Federal taxes)

Of course as many others have pointed out, the imaginary Saskabertistan wouldn’t include:
          – downtown Calgary
          – downtown Edmonton
          – whereever the fuck Gooddale is from
          – BC
          – Manitoba
          – all the people in AB that voted NDP
          – etc, etc..

          1. Jamie and Semi, I’ll wager neither one of you have ever tried to break your chains. Already gone back grazing? Ha Ha Ha.

          2. SRC, Thank you and JM for the voices of sanity. As I said before,if you want to fantasize, keep it in the realm of shipwrecks, desert islands, and a boatload of Victoria’s Secret models.

  3. The carbon monoxide tax should help bongo’s popularity.

The carbon monoxide tax on.my has bill last month was $46. It is on everything we consume.

My pickup has a 140 liter tank. If gas cost $1/l its over $100 each fill. If the carbon monoxide tax is 5 cents I’m in for $5 on every fill. A tank a week is $20 a month.

I dont care how much bongo is going to refund you will be under water on the carbon monoxide tax.

Everyone wants to pay more must be their thinking.

    1. Yup, the liberals are playing the voters like the fools they are(the liberal voters, that is)

  4. Out here in Alberta, the carbon tax on our last heating bill was just about equal to the actual cost of the natural gas we used for home heat and water heating. As in, that translated to an extra 25% cost for keeping ourselves warm and clean. We can afford it; others find the tax punitive, and the derisive “rebates” in no way compensate for same.

  5. OTT, but was wont to come to this website via Blogging Tories, but they’ve suddenly vanished. I remember the name of this website, but not adequately the names of others I used BT to visit. Anyone can help?

    1. Yup, looks like they’re dead. (And now you understand the genius that is the name of this blog.)

      1. The ‘conservative movement’ exists below the radar. A professor here, a blog there maybe a publication (US).
It never extends to the political level except in name.

Conservatives are quarrelsome by nature. They would sooner win an argument than win an election.

Individualism is the name of the game for conservatives- they are not necessarily team players.

Canada is a very liberal country. Not a friendly place for conservatives. So we fight the good fight from the fringe and mostly between ourselves never expecting to win given the circumstances.

        1. abtrapper, that was pure poetry! I’m having a tough time with my fellows lately as they see Andy Scheer as some kind of messiah, and I don’t.
And yep, I’m quarrelsome by nature, can’t stand bloody fools, and the CPC is full of ’em, still fighting the battle of 1956.
To put it succinctly, I’m glad I’m old. Hope I won’t have to depend on some millenial f*** for my lethal injection.

    2. I tried to post 4 links for you but the owner of this blog — or a surrogate — apparently decided not to publish that info.

  6. Frances and Kate, on rare occasions, over the past couple of years, I would venture onto the site, and found that the quality of postings was on the downhill. Another thing was, of the long list of conservative blogs shown on the site, fewer and fewer are still running. More and more I worry about the state of conservative writing in Canada. PostMedia (which owns Sun newspapers), seems to be foundering, and there are only a few readable blogs (SDA is the best that I know of).

And the fatcat Globe and Mail and CBC News become bigger, richer and more totalitarian.

    1. I love the smell of burning pessimism in the morning, over breakfast 🙁

      1. Thanks. I am a pessimistic person by nature. My favourite book is “The Conservative Crack-up” (1992), by R. Emmet Tyrell. Actually, in the fall election, because of LavalinGate, the Liberals might cracked up and the Conservatives might do well. So there.

    2. More and more I worry about the state of conservative writing in Canada.

I do too. Truth is, I don’t really know of any really good “conservative” Canadian blogs / sites. I’ve gotten the impression that genuinely conservative Canadians just tend to post on American forums, which is understandable but probably not the healthiest thing for us.

  7. Trudeau’s Tax may not change the weather but it may change the political climate. Problem is, Andy 2% wants the same – but different. His main complaint: “big polluters” [sic] are being let off.

  8. The blanking MSM in ‘print’ and on TV tell me that X fuel type is getting taxed X amount and therefore that is your cost increase. They’re omitting -WTF is new – that of course everything needs fuel.
Is the grocery store going to eat their increased shipping costs?
Are the breweries going to drink their increased shipping costs?
I’m the furthest thing from an economist but if the Price Of Everything doesn’t go up then 2+2=3.
Listening to PM Turnip and No Time McKenna spew out their “we’re taxing pollution” without one single soul rebutting them with a “No, you’re taxing living” makes me want to puke.

    1. It’s more insidious then that. The Trudeau government’s plan of artificially driving the cost of everything up, will in fact harvest billions of additional revenue each year from point of sale taxation like the GST from the pockets of taxpayers. As the price of goods and services goes up, so does the amount of tax remitted to government coffers as these taxes are calculated on top of the cost of each individual purchase. I have no idea if the Conservatives under Scheer have plans to get rid of this tax if elected.

    2. “they are taxing life”
yea, they sure as shit are…..!! their desire is to kill a significant portion fo that “life”. (AKA Globalism – NWO – AGenda 2030)

THAT is the plan…as stated by his Holiness, Gerald Butts many years ago as CEO of the WWF: to wit … “the planet can only sustain 1 Billion souls”. Right out of Maurice Strongs manifesto so to speak….the Same Maurice Strong that co-chaired the 1992 Congress in Brazil to kick start AGW – Climate Change.

And its being done via Climate Change policy: CO2 Taxation – Enforced Renewables coupled with flooding the country with lowlife that will NOT work while inundating/destroying our Social & Health Services.

Definition of: How to build a Trans National State

  9. I live in the cabbage patch known as New Brunswick, and out here we wood-burning serfs also get hit with Justin Trudeau’s carbon tax, starting today (April Fool’s Day).

The Liberal-loving media cartel will not mention this, but — ironies of ironies — all of the four provinces getting hit with the April Fool’s Day tax are headed by conservative party governments. All of the six provinces blessed with their own carbon taxes are led by Liberal or NDP governments. Surely a coincidence.

Except for my cabbage New Brunswick, the other three anti-carbon tax provinces form a contiguous belt from Ontario through Saskatchewan, inclusive. And we can expect that Jason Kenney will win in Alberta in two weeks (this, despite strenuous opposition from CBC News and the Globe and Mail). If and when this happens, look for Mr. Trudeau to extend his much-beloved tax to include Alberta. All legal efforts to void the tax, from the five taxed provinces will fail. Remember, our “justice” system is very much radicalized, and every forthcoming court ruling will support the federal carbon tax. Any provinvial-led legal fight against the tax is like a World War I infantry charge against barbed-wire trenches and machine guns.

Concequently, the only way to fight the tax is through populist protest, of various kinds, leading up through the fall election. I wonder which conservative groups are willing to plan and organize protests.

    1. We get 90% of the carbon tax back. Of course 90% of Alberta’s carbon tax will go to Quebec.

      1. We’ll get 90% of what they say we pay back. For now. Maybe. Depending on how much your reported income is.
Basically the Corrupt Liberals are paying lower income (and lower intelligence) voters to put an X in the Corrupt Liberal box on election day.
And yes, send as much money as possible to K-Bec.

        1. The carbon tax sends jobs to China, India, and the US (at least while Trump is president).

Union members remember that your union leaders support the carbon tax. Say goodbye to your jobs.

        2. But will the voters get back 90% of the carbon tax trucking companies pay to deliver food and merchandise to the stores?
How about the natural gas that restaurants will pay when you go out to eat?
As a farmer I’m very concerned about the increase to my inputs yet I cant ask for more $ from the world price on commodities.
Many businesses will have the ability to ask more for products but the consumer has only _____$ disposable income.
With a weak economy I expect this has the ability to trigger a recession.

  10. In the ongoing saga from Trudeau failing to get what he wants.
Open speculation on the moment when Jody and Jane are removed from the liberal caucus.
Now heres a subtext our intrepid media is under reporting.
The expectation is that they are going to be removed after a vote.
Hmmmm, a vote, by the “entire” caucus, after the Sockmonkey leaves the room …… so he can claim innocence after the execution.
    Well ain’t dat a coincidence.
So rather than do the dirty work himself he wants the entire caucus to cover for a problem he created.
Hey, caucus voted, so he’s not to blame, right?
But then caucus would have to be united to ensure there where no dissenters in the room right?
Cause if some MP’s don’t vote to kick them out will they come under a cloud of suspicion?
    What of those that abstain?
Again the media going along with the narrative of only one possible outcome will help fuel the fire.

    As for SNC

Doesn’t matter what they do now, SNC isn’t getting a DPA.
Its the niggling detail that the AG has to publish his reasons for doing it have nothing to do with politics or economics.
I highly doubt anyone on team Sockmonkey can do that.
They should have listened to Jody.

  11. April fool’s day, appropriate date for top fools Trudeau and company to launch the tax that will save us from distinction.
Wonder where Climate Barbie will be seen riding her bike to put her money where her mush is?
Only fools could support this mess we have elected to govern. We are really the biggest fools of all if they don’t get wiped out in October, if they last that long.
More poop coming out from Butts in response to JWR’s latest release could be more butt covering, attempt to defend the indefensible.

    1. Liz the real fools are the Canadian electorate and they prove it election after election. Canadians have never voted against a tax, never voted to refuse to obey any law and will starve to death rather that take any action that cuts the socialist government cord. Everyone is at the trough and no one wants to give anything up. Fools, you bet.

  12. Under the title of our tax dollars at work, the Globe and Mail reports that a consultant living in Florida was paid over a million dollars by Thunder Bay indians to lobby the federal government for housing money. The consultant also donated money to the Liberal MP in that area.

  13. Are Arabs and Iranians white? While their parents say yes, the children say no. And being labelled white is to discriminate against them.

    https://www.theeagle.com/news/nation/census-bureau-says-arabs-and-persians-are-white-but-many/article_693f8cb0-9a70-52e8-aa24-8afa12c03d29.html

    For example…

That [being or not being white] wasn’t a topic Shams had discussed with his father until two years ago. The two were sitting at a beer garden in Washington during the Persian New Year when they started discussing Trump’s administration and the rise of white nationalism. The elder Shams emigrated from Iran in 1964, more than a decade before the Islamic Revolution.

“They hate brown people,” Shams told his father.

“But we’re white,” his father replied. “I’m white. You’re white.”

“Stand up on this bench right here and say that,” Shams said. “Nobody in this bar would agree with you.”

  14. New Jersey Lawmakers Ask Schools To Ban ‘Huckleberry Finn’

It’s been a few years since someone has tried to ban Mark Twain’s “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” from a high school reading list. Some lawmakers in New Jersey are making sure the sanity doesn’t last too long.

    https://thefederalist.com/2019/04/01/new-jersey-lawmakers-ask-schools-ban-huckleberry-finn/?utm_source=The+Federalist+List&utm_campaign=9f15a2f473-RSS_The_Federalist_Daily_Updates_w_Transom&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_cfcb868ceb-9f15a2f473-84055819

This story reminds me of the following. All too common these days, suppression of speech, conservator (traditionalist) ideas, etc.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHzM1gXaiVo

    1. The Soviets also banned books deemed not conducive to creating the new Soviet man.

      https://censorshipissues.wordpress.com/2010/09/21/censorship-of-books-in-the-soviet-union-from-1920-1940/

The Bolshevik-led October Revolution of 1917 provided ideological justifications for restricting the flow of foreign ideas and analysis into the USSR. One of the first manifestations of this would be the creation of the Main Administration for Literary and Publishing Affairs, or Glavlit, aiming to purge Soviet society of all expressions regarded as destructive to the new order and suppressing political dissidence.

Characteristics of books that were considered “harmful” to the Soviet Union included failure to promote the worker’s class consciousness and willingness to work hard, religious propaganda, pro-tsarist ideas, opposition to revolutionary class struggle and promoting national hatred.

      https://shapero.com/bookshop-blog/censorship-in-the-soviet-union/

So today’s progressives banning books deemed not appropriate is not new. They are just following the pattern of all totalitarian ideologies.

  15. Just listened to a Liberal MP bleating on about JRW,daring to tape a conversation and how unethical he finds that act..
Yet every time I phone a government agency I am advised that the conversation will be recorded and when you enter a government building there are notices all over advising you as to what your minions consider “acceptable behaviour”.

    The disconnect is astounding.

    1. It’s pretty rich to claim how unethical it is to tape this conversation when they had no problem allowing Stats can to access our banking info without our knowledge.

    2. Meanwhile lie #461 from the Liberals. Wernick says he didn’t brief Turdeau on the JWR meeting cause everyone was on Christmas holidays.

Except that wasn’t true. Turdeau’s schedule shows he was in Ottawa on Dec 19, 20, 21.

Wernick testified Mar 6 that Turdeau can be reached 24/7 via the PMO switchboard.

These buffoons are telling so many lies and falsehoods that they cannot keep their story straight.

I’m hoping the Globe or National Post will list all the lies in an article but there seem to be too many to track.

The Liberals seem to be in full Goebbels mode: a lie repeated often enough becomes the truth. Or it’s follow up: if people don’t believe the repeated lie, tell lots of lies so they give up trying to figure it out.

      1. A female Liberal caucus member complained of feeling uncomfortable with JWR because of the taped conversations as in maybe she was still taping. I guess it is OK for a female Liberal to throw another one under the bus.

        1. If you’re afraid of being taped then you’ve got something to hide. I thought all these Liberals were as pure as the driven snow, especially PM Turnip.

  16. How many photo-ops will Climate Barbie be doing today while riding her bicycle?
Hard to figure how a party with so many nitwits could get elected to majority government. We’ve come a long way down and still spiraling.

This whole price on carbon is a Ponzi scheme by any other name.

    1. Mick is 75. In the UK, don’t they just let you die at 75? I remember an Ulster lass telling me they wouldn’t treat her father and he died. I suspect she was Provisional IRA so maybe he was an ass too and pissed off a good Protestant doctor. Mind you Mick must have a few hundred million to smooth things over.

  17. Just found out I missed Earth Hour (aka North Korea Hour) on the weekend.

Pity, I usually switch on every light in and outside the house at that time.

Still, the fact I did not hear about it until afterwards suggests it is falling out of the limelight with all the other nonsense going on. Maybe it is for the best.

    1. The new UN head quarters in Toronto will be shaped like a giant potato. The new Secretary General of the U.N. doesn’t like the label ‘little potato’.

        1. It’s a joke, and so was my comment about Turdeau wanting to be called grand potato. In reality Turdeau will become a mashed potato.

    1. Cheerleading does require an amazing amount of skill and physical fitness. I would be hesitant to mess with anyone who does backflips, handstands and the like on a daily basis. Gymnastics, dance, and cheers are almost identical in physical demands.

  18. allow me to correct a mistake in the phrasing of the rollout:
it’s *car bum* tax, not the other thing.
Im not gonna expliquez my little play on words . . . . .

    unless you’re the TURD 2.0

  19. Anyone think Jodie Wilson Raybould is about to be booted from the Liberal Party? They really are stupid enough to do it.

  20. Groper has found a new scam to distract from the Lavalin scandal. The Liberals have leaked a new climate change document that states global warming is happening twice as fast in Canada as the rest of the world. WE’RE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE! Protect your family and join Team Trudeau. And if your in Alberta, protect your family and join Team Notley. The report also said that global warming in Canada is at the point where it can’t be changed. Which begs the question if it can’t be changed now, what is the point of carbon taxes?

  21. Canada is the most successful Gulag in the world. Canadians are so brainwashed by the CBC, all the other State controlled forms of media. Outside media is closed off by the CRTC. All through school you are brainwashed. Told to accept your yoke and this is the way it has always been. Accept your yoke. Taxed until your knees are buckling and they kick you in the ribs and tax you some more. Even a homeless man in a cardboard box is taxed in Canada. All for the Globalist Good Guys. You must never rebel. You can’t fight city hall. The government is always right. Control, control control. Over 500,000 PAGES of Laws and Rules and Regulations all with a fee,, a tax, a permit a license. 500,000 Pages of paper is a stack of rules over 14 stories high, a fire engine ladder truck can not even reach the top page. Hopeless sheep lost in a gulag. The Canadian Matrix. I want more Gubmint Mommy. The True North Strong and Free. ha ha ha. You never had a chance suckers. Never had a chance. 2 plus 2 is 5, when Trudeau’s new censorship laws come you will be gagged with your own dirty socks and have your asses kicked everyday.
