  1. Expect even more CBC stories about the corrupt UCP. Fight for socialism! Join Team Notley!

    1. Join the Tides Foundation and the NDP in their fight to kill the Alberta oil industry.

      🙁

    2. It’s not clear to me if the newest “scandal” around Kenney is a real thing or just more evidence that Canada is becoming a banana republic where the ruling party can sic the police on their political rivals. And, in my mind, there’s no doubt that Premier Kenney of Alberta and Premier Moe of Saskatchewan are a bigger political threat to Trudeau than Scheer.

Did the RCMP ever investigate the BC Liberal MP with the suddenly disappearing gambling debt? Lavscam obstruction of justice ? Ship building and fishing quota irregularities down east? The “they collaborated in a leadership election” looks pretty thin by comparison.

      1. Did the RCMP investigate, or for that matter give a damn, that Maryam Monsef entered our country and became a citizen(and MP) under false pretenses. All others have been deported on the same grounds as her families excuses.

      2. The media appears to be inventing a new Conservative “scandal” every day. Coincidentally, everyone who left the Conservatives in disgrace are lining up to be witnesses. Der Fuhrer Notley’s Election Commissioner gave a $5,000 fine to The Rebel for being an unregistered political party. He also prohibited half the Alberta Party candidates for running in the election. He is obviously a Stalinist Bolshevik Nazi. The Alberta Party members should be prohibited from running because they are Liberals disguised in Alberta Party drag not because of petty offenses.

        1. Half of the Alberta Party candidates didn’t file their paperwork last election. The consequences are well published and that goes back decades and applies to all candidates.

Kenney is a dirt-bag and the Kamikaze thing is real. Everyone who had any genuine knowledge knew well before Wildrose was usurped by the PC’s that Kenney was going to gut Jean in the leadership race. Jean was warned repeatedly but had delusions of his own grandeur. Kenney is also a closet Muslim. Caylan Ford got booted for saying literately nothing.

          1. would help if you CITE some sources for all this.
otherwise it resembles supermarket tabloid fluff.
fast and easy in the digital age n’est pas?

            sources, sources, sources !!!!
            (was Apollo 11 really faked?)

      3. The real scandal around Kenney are, as Jean pointed out, that his fiscal numbers are as detached from reality as the NDP’s.

      4. Don’t know what happened in the UCP leadership race, but have seen the same in municipal elections – and it was a leftie who organized leaders from various community associations to run and thus syphon off votes from the only serious opposition.

    3. Both the CBC and the Globe and Mail have been continuously attacking Mr. Kenney, and will continually do so through the campaign. Hence the trumped up charges. The big Toronto media like Rachel Notley, mostly because she instituted a carbon tax, and has increased provincial government spending and deficits. The huge, well-funded environmental lobby has the Western Canada energy industry on the ropes. The Toronto-based corporate media understands this, and wIll do its best to prevent Jason Kenney from taking over. The last thing the Toronto elites need is a champion standing up for Alberta’s rights.

  2. Gee, who to vote for, the anti-oil/resource sector Premier,or whoever is the Leader of the UCP come April 16th?

Boot the f***ing socialists to oblivion!

  3. It had to happen sooner or later, but given the “breaking dirty tricks” alleged by Kenney et all to “push aside Brian Jean” the cynic in me says the Commies are trying to make this THE issue of the campaign. A media inspired anti-UCP/conservative story. How Ironic!
The province is sick of the Commies, Have Notley has done everyone a favour to get rid of them faster.

  4. Adios Rahel…you and your Trudeau Ass kissing – Anti Oil – Communist Filth with not be missed….but long reviled. You had plenty of opportunities yet in each case as is it ALWAYS is with democratic socialists, “Ideology uber alles”, you fkd it up beyond all reason.

That Jason will win and win a Majority is pretty much agreed…I for one however will be curious to see how much sentiment- votes there are out there for the fledgling Separatist Parties.

Their raison d’etre, I am 100% in favour of…for the simple reason, that the Canadian East – West Dynamic will never freaking ever change.

  5. I suspect there is enough residual common sense remaining in Alberta that virtually anyone leading the UCP should be able to defeat the CBC, Teachers, Nurses, Profs, Unifor, public sector, etc IOW the terminally brain-dead watermelon party. The UCP campaign slogan should be: “A little corruption is better than a whole lot of economic suicide”.

    1. Actually – know at least one “public sector” employee who is NOT voting NDP. It can depend very much upon the larger family and how it has been affected by NDP policies.

  6. LOL!!!

I had a stud-looking -20-something ring my doorbell yesterday afternoon here in Calgary. He asked if he could count on my support for the NDP in the upcoming Alberta election. I laughed in his face.

He asked if I would support the PC’s, I said I was not sure who I was going to vote for.

He asked why I wouldn’t support the NDP. I went off on him, asked him why Red Rachel sent no representative from the AB Government for the Bill C-69 hearings for pipelines. Why they hired Zipora Behrman and other NDP hacks from other provinces as advisors to shape policy here in Alberta. Why they are taking money and policy advice from the Tides Foundation and other American interests who want to landlock our oil. I asked him why I would want to support the NDP who want to buy rail cars and locomotives which won’t be delivered for another 15 years because it will take that long for them to be built (and the true cost is not $450M but closer to $1.2-4 Billion) to sell even more of our low priced oil to the Americans? Why sell more at a loss?

I then said the problem with Socialism is that it works very well until it runs out of other people’s money.

I asked him if he had children? He said he didn’t. I said he had no skin in the game of legacy and the next generations. The NDP had no long term plans for the province and the people living in it.

    Blank stare from him.

I then asked if he knew about an current but old law on the books here in the City of Calgary. The law requires that when someone is ridden out of town they are legally entitled to a horse and a gun. I said there would be a lot of horses and guns required after this election.

I asked him why he would support them. He said he had other reasons other than what I had said. My “gaydar” was screaming. just sayin

  7. so the writ is dropped.
will Bertie folks drop an anvil on the nude democraps?
‘you get the form of government you deserve’.

  8. The CBC allegations and the RCMP investigation is to make Kenney go all mealy mouthed and apologetic and get back in the fold were he belongs.
My advice Kenney is lie like a SOB and then as soon as you are elected start taking Alberta out of Canada. Start by running off the RCMP. And evict the CBC out of Alberta. Shut down BC pipelines crossing Alberta, Shutdown all truck traffic east and west for safety inspections that last 2-3 days. Put a boycott on all eastern Canadian products, Demand only US steel and pipe be used in the oil and gas industry. etc etc. Withdraw from UI and create your own CPP and OAS system. Adjust Equalization to 0 until such time as Alberta vacates. Collect all Alberta Taxes and dole out to Ottawa as you see fit and go line by line.

    1. Sounds good, Watcher. Let’s get’r’done! I don’t know if I have ever heard any mainstream politico in this country speak like that, but I think the time has come for such actions. Mr. Kenney might see electoral success with some of these ideas.

      1. You have heard that, from Stephen Harper et. al.; those are the main points of the Alberta Firewall proposal.

  9. A pox on all their houses. I think I might write myself in as the Independiste candidate for Lethbridge East

  10. If Albertans are swayed by Rachel’s fear-mongering and not her track record of ruining the province, poverty is what they deserve.

I say this because I have seen Ontario go the same route. One little scare tactic and voters turn to chicken-sh–.

We need to excise the jelly from the body politic.

    1. Sorry, but the jelly you just described describes applies to the majority of CPC voters as well as ~100% of NPD and Liberal voters.
And Andy Sche(m)er and the corrupt-o-cons ran off Max. So who is going to do the excision? This is a national moral illness at work.

        1. You might go look at the definition of moral, and think about it a bit, to avoid revealing your stupidity.

I’m not so sure breaking you of that CPC voting habit will be quite so easy. Hope you are ready for Andy Schemer’s pricy carbon tax replacement, on the off chance that he stumbles into power.

  11. Kenney has to prove that he and his party will not be more of the same entitled institutionalized do-nothing smug PC’s that were characteristic of Prentice, Redford, Stelmach, Klein (in his second term) and Getty.
I have little confidence in him and see too much caving to the left and too much backroom dealing.

Voting for the Alberta Advantage Party led by the co-founder of the Wild Rose Party before the WRP corrupted themselves by joining the old and corrupt PC’s by those traitors led by I shall not say her name and that useless schmuck Brian Jean.

    1. I’m not Albertan, but honestly I was never a big fan of Kenney when he was federal. And ever since he scampered back to Alberta he’s struck me as an arrogant SOB who’s in it much more for himself & his cronies than for the good of the province. He’ll win, pretty likely, but like you I’m not convinced that he just won’t end up being another flavour of the same old rotten PC party that didn’t get truly killed (damn that she-who-we-won’t-name to hell, damn her a thousand times).

    2. “Prentice, Redford, Stelmach, Klein (in his second term) and Getty.”

I’ve got nothing bad to say about Klein. I remember the Lougheed days when we saw the money we spent. Everybody since Lougheed just pisses the money away. Half the roads and most of the parks and public works were built by Lougheed. Everybody since has paid a lot of union wages.

      1. Lougheed was no saint. He put Alberta back into debt that Social Credit had paid off from Alberta’s Librano government. Worst yet Lougheed lied about Alberta’s debt being paid off to get elected in ’71. There were also tons of open graft scandals under Lougheeds administration.

        1. Lougheed was a swine. He did BJ on Pierre Trudeau. He pretended to stand for Albertan’s but would no even support property rights. Big Big POS Progressive.
Ralph Klein was the best ever. Even drunk he was better than all of them. Stelmach was another POS backstabbing Commie.

          1. As much as I would like to disagree, I can’t. I definitely don’t wish to speak ill of the dead but Lougheed was terrible. He did nothing to stand up to that slime ball Trudeau 1 (okay, that ba$tard is not dead enough. Burn in hell you spawn of satan) He was wayyyyyyyyy more progressive than conservative.

Ah, Ed Stelmach: everyone’s second choice

  12. My one hope in the media smear campaign is that it will finally convince the vast majority of Albertans that the MSM is a) constantly shilling for the left, and b) our enemy, filled with hatred for anything that would dare to be successful.
    But I repeat myself.

  13. Any conservative party, federal or provincial, who think the status quo requires simple tinkering are simply another version of the progressive movement. I do think that the socialists are better organized and led because they are winning. In the process of winning conservatives have not even outlined or publicized the threat. Conservatives have not communicated a platform and have no means of doing so in an effective manner. There is no grass roots in the conservative movement it is all top down.

The situation has not changed even after conservative majority. The socialist control education, media and government employees. They form opinion and limit talking points. The obvious example is the SNC fiasco and the fact there will be no consequences. The Liebels get caught passing paper bags of cash around, no consequences. These are national security issues that will destroy this country and yet people ignore it. Laughable.

    1. Sadly you are correct. Progressiveness is deeply embedded in our institutions, and it was be design by a 5th column over a number decades.

  14. It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Kenny is guilty of the dirty electioneering he is accused of.
He was a PC and that sort of corruption and election swindling were standard practice by the progressives.

That said, at least the UCP are not flat out communists like the NDP are.
I and my wife will be casting our votes for the UCP candidate, Peter Guthrie.

    1. “It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Kenny is guilty of the dirty electioneering he is accused of.”

Heh. It would surprise me if he wasn’t.

        1. It’s a bad thing that a progressive stole the election from the Wild Rose leader? Yes. If true, yes it is.
The NDP will get trounced in this election but the seeds of a conservative civil war in Alberta make that ‘thing’
a bad thing if Kenny has progressive policy and is perceived as having stolen the leadership race.

Some A-holes forget that the PCs were the third place party and that Wild Rose would’ve become the government
if ignorant PC voters had voted conservative instead of progressive. Don’t think for a second that the people who fought to make Wild Rose the Alberta government are going to knuckle under to progressive policies.
We worked very hard to change things for better governance and we haven’t lost the guts or the vision.

          1. They already did knuckle under when Smith ripped out key party planks. Then the merger did the rest.

      1. I agree. Brutus Smith stabbed the conservatives in the back. Kenney may well turn out to be a CINO.

    2. Wouldn’t surprise me either, but the same is endemic in municipal politics. Our alderperson is seriously suspected of organizing community presidents to run in the municipal election to split the opposition.

  15. The Alberta NDP have taken a page (actually the only page) from the Saskatchewan NDP electioneering playbook. Demonize your opponent, dig up dirt regardless of how old, trivial or false on your opponent and attempt to frighten voters with the “hidden agenda” and privatization narratives.
Ever notice how the NDP rarely, if ever, point to their accomplishments in order to attract voters. That’s because their accomplishments are either rare or, in most cases, non-existent. It’s always about the other guys being mean or ruthless accompanied by a long list of things that the other guys “might” do if elected. The NDP are pathetic experts at negative campaigning, relying on the fear, envy and loathing angle.
I would thoroughly enjoy seeing them completely wiped out, figuratively of course.

  16. Time for Conservatives to get out there and put up some lawn signs, do some volunteering for your local Conservative guy/gal, and make the NDPee part of history.

Or don’t complain when Rachel wins again. You do nothing, you get nothing.

  17. Is the CBC racist against white people in Alberta? The network showed the UCP’s leader give his press conference with some oil field workers behind him. The CBC had a panel to discuss what Kenny said afterwards. The first comment from a panelist was how awful it was for him to have white men standing behind him. Another panelist stated that Kenny is a crook and liar and that his lead over Notley has been halved. The NDP are on their way to win another government. Meanwhile on CTV they were also trashed the UCP.

    1. “Is the CBC racist against white people”?

Is the pope catholic. Though in fairness CBC real attacks are reserved for white men..

  18. Well, they have no record worth running ON, so it makes sense for them to run AGAINST Kenney. I just can’t figure out why they didn’t pass a budget first.

    1. Just like Little Potato, saying everything is Harper’s fault, in AB, Notley will campaign that Kenney = Harper.

  19. I will say it again; the only way for the west to ever prosper or even survive, IS TO GET OUT OF CANADA.

Don’t bother supporting anyone who is not 50,000,000% committed to this goal. Moe and the Canada before Saskatchewan party will not help; they will fight it. Quebec will fight it. The CBC will fight it…

The only way to have rule of law, is a new country.

The only way to end equalization is a new country.

The only way to be rid of the criminal province of Quebec, is a new country.

The only say to be rid of the CBC, is a new country.

The only way to have a vote that matters, is a new country.

    1. Yes, seeing as the government and “ opposition “ see eye to eye on absolutely every single one of your bullet points.

    1. The NDP legislated away the six-month residency requirement. Watch for Jerry Dias – and Paul Moist – renting busses to temporarily move members to be “ordinarily resident” in Alberta for a day.

  20. We’ll be rid of Rachel in less than a month then. And have the satisfaction of seeing Bob the Angry Flower’s reaction to boot.

If she was that sick of being Justin’s fall girl in Alberta Rachel could have just resigned, but I’ll take it.

Daddy’s on his way home, Alberta, and the bad children are in for a spanking.

  21. Yes, keep up the crapola that Red Rachel cares about pipelines and the oil industry and related jobs.

Jason Kenney is yer best bet out of the field available…and will tell the feds where to put their CARBON TAX.

    Cheers

    Hans Rupprecht, Commander in Chief
    1st Saint Nicolaas Army
    Army Group “True North”

    1. Jason Kenney says he supports a carbon tax — but only on major industrial emitters in Alberta

United Conservative Party Leader Jason Kenney says he wants to ditch the carbon tax that applies to all Albertans but is still in favour of “a tax on major emitters” in the province.

Emissions from those sources — which include large industrial operations like power plants and oilsands operations — account for about two-thirds of Alberta’s total carbon-dioxide output that is subject to carbon pricing, according to University of Calgary economist Trevor Tombe.

Kenney has expressed support in the past for continuing to charge major emitters

but refrained from using the word “tax” when talking about such a system.

      Sheer will be the same…

Only Max says no carbon tax Federally, provincial that’s up to each one to decide.

  22. Stephen Mandel vows to challenge the election results in court if he’s not allowed to win.

  23. Predictions:

    Tinker Bell Kenney will win.
Tinker Bell Kenney will be just like Dougie “Doublecross” Ford.

  24. https://prairiefreedom.ca/the-time-is-now.html

Simply put, nothing west of the Ontario/Manitoba border matters to anyone east of the Ontario/Manitoba border. 139 seats in Ontario and Quebec. 170 seats gets you a majority. 231 seats east of the Ontario/Manitoba border.

Andrew Scheer is east of the Ontario/Manitoba border.

In the words of Keith Davey. Liberal strategist for the 1980 Liberal election “Screw the west, we’ll take the rest.”.

The only way to be rid of Trudeau’s freedom destroying charter, is a new country.

The only way to be rid of official bilingualism, is a new country.

    1. Simply put, nothing west of the Ontario/Manitoba border matters to anyone east of the Ontario/Manitoba border.

It hasn’t ever since PET took office as PM.

139 seats in Ontario and Quebec. 170 seats gets you a majority. 231 seats east of the Ontario/Manitoba border.

That arrangement is one argument in favour of a system such as the American electoral college. As it is right now, the Hamilton-Quebec City corridor not only chooses the PM, but it rules the entire country. So much for vox populi.

Of course, that’s the reasoning behind the Dumbocrats wanting to abolish the Electoral College. As correspondents for The Gateway Pundit have said recently, that party wants the coastal elites and New York City to always choose who becomes President.

      1. If I may, actually the west hasn’t mattered since the west was split into smaller manageable provinces when it entered confederation.

      2. B A – it didn’t matter long before PET. Grew up in BC, watched parents head up to vote then, even before their votes were counted, turn on the radio and hear who the new government was. That was our reality.

  25. Oh thank God. It’s like when you’re coming up for air after too long underwater and you’re almost there, you can just about taste the air.

I don’t like Kenney, but he recently released a bold as hell tax plan that Terrence Corcoran over at FP covered with praise.

  26. Somebody threw down a bet here in AB – that if any Alberta independence candidate in the provincial election gets more than a 1000 votes he will personally deliver a case of beer.

I didn’t catch who it was but think it might be some radio talking head in Edmonton who said it.

I think the bet is a safe one.
