Now if the media would just do their jobs and report extensively on the missteps and outright corruption in the same manner that they flogged the Duffy and $16 orange juice non-stories instead of running interference for the cretin, Trudeau’s problems would be increased exponentially.

  4. In my opinion, these issues just highlight the fact that the structure of Canada is broken. The west is always sacrificed for “eastern” interest. If the western part of Canada wants to prosper, the structure of Canada needs to be repaired. To be heard, western Canada should be prepared to leave. Unless there is a serious threat, nothing will change.

  6. The Trudeaus have never cut any ice with me: what concerns me much more is the the sorry state of the “leadership” of the Conservative Party.

    Poor Andrew, duped into a meeting with SNC-Lavalin to provide cover for the Liberals. Almost as stupid as allowing the split with Max Bernier — over supply management! Everybody with two working eyes in southwestern Ontario knows what the Dairy lobby is all about. The split with Max is on Andrew, whose loyalties appear confused to me, to be blunt.

    The Tories should be about 15 points ahead in the polls — not languishing, as they certainly are @ Nanos Research. Heck, even Joe Clark managed that much. The Liberals can’t even get the pot to market, much less anything else.

    Lisa Raitt would be an excellent choice, actually. Job 1 would to patch it up with Max. Let’s get on with it.

      Maybe you’re correct, the centre right should go into the election without credible leadership; that’s the ticket.

  11. Just watched the Clerk of the Privy Council at the Justice Committee hearing. He went on the attack during his opening rant, stating that people are going to be assassinated because people on social media are accusing Great Leader of treason. And the Globe and Mail stories are lies and inflammatory. Our civil service at work.

    1. I just stepped away from watching this debacle. I’m livid, I’m so angry yelling at the TV yes partly because of what the Clerk of the Privy Council said, but more so how Raitt et al are handling him and allowing him to filibuster their time, allowing him to avoid answering a direct question, letting him ramble about irrelevant things, and state information that wasn’t asked !!!!!!!!

      Have that CPC not learned anything from the U.S. Democrats, in how to act and question witnesses from any of the hearing in the USA.
      For fu*ksakes the CPC looks incompetent ! I can’t even stand to watch anymore, they are being intimidated by the witnesses. They look like 7th graders asking questions to a 30 year career lawyer, he handles them like a breeze.
      Here’s their chance to get Liberals looking dirty in front of everyone, and now instead, the CPC desperate, weak and not capable.

      1. I agree. I rarely watch CPAC anymore. In fact, maybe once in the last two years. Not good for the blood pressure levels.
        It almost looks like the CPC is deliberately trying to throw the next election.
        These committee hearings are a joke as far as getting to the truth on any issue. The majority members just stonewall and obfuscate.

The battle for the hearts and minds of the mushy and mindless “middle” of the Canadian electorate will now proceed a little with or without the help of that integral part of the institutional left that masquerades as media. In such a battle, the Conservatives have an excellent leader as no one in politics today could compete with Scheer for the “mushy middle” claimed turf. And yet, as totally inferior in character and policy as he is to Mad Max, he is the best option to attain power to possibly retard the culturally dominant ongoing and irreversible decline in Canadian prosperity.

    Canada is done.
    Decades of corruption means it is the norm.
    Our progressive comrades,60% of those who vote, believe corruption is business as normal and reliably vote to reward the corrupt.
    There is no business case for confederation.
    If you doubt me,please present one.
    All that keeps us in Canada is inertia and family ties, yet those do not pay the rent.
    Financially the West is far better off free of Canada.
    Structurally?
    What do we have in common with those who mock hard work,business and private property?
    Who in the West supports the, above the law, Human Rights Commissions?
    The corruption of CSA? Stats Canada?RCMP? Or the idiocy from the Supreme Court?.
    Rule of law is important,without the citizenry buying in to that concept,civic interactions are impossible.
    Who in Canada promotes Rule of Law?
    Let alone actual justice?

    We are not leaving Canada,Canada moved on and left us behind.

  16. I’d like to point out something incredibly important that I haven’t seen reported yet.

    JWR quits cabinet. JT invokes solicitor client privilege to prevent her from speaking. JWR retains lawyer to figure out how she can speak. GB resigns

    JWR asks to address cabinet. JT, in a monumentally stupid decision, agrees. Someone in cabinet promptly leaks the gist of what JWR said, confirming she felt pressure from PMO to intervene on SNCs behalf. JWR has not violated solicitor-client privilege.

    Two points.
    1) JT should never have permitted JWR to address cabinet if he wasn’t 100% sure every person in the room would keep their mouth shut.
    2) Someone in that cabinet meeting felt safe enough to stab JT in the back by leaking what JWR had to say.

    JWR speaking to cabinet may have been a ploy to leak her story. Certainly worked out that way.

    Knives appear to be out and some preliminary stabs have been taken. If I was one of the cabinet ministers in that meeting who was strongly pushing to allow JWR to speak, I’d be watching my back right now. Seems that with GB out, some members of cabinet have become emboldened.

    1. This is precisely the problem, when you have someone who “admires basic dictatorship” running the PMO show…
      Speaking freely and unencumbered is a luxury and privilege in ‘basic dictatorships’.

      As usual with those who promote this view, there are some citizens who are “more equal” before the law than others.
      And thus corruption begets more corruption.

    Secondly: Alberta & Saskatchewan are hinting at “separation” Please, if push comes to shove let B.C. in even though northern B.C. would have to separate from the socialist southern part of the province.

  20. If only Harper had listened to the base and taken a stronger stand, drawn clearer lines of distinction. That campaign concept “he’s not ready” sort of gave away the real agenda which was that Harper could deliver what people might want from Justin Trudeau. The more relevant slogan might have been, “he is ready” followed by what he was ready to do.

    Some blame Harper entirely, I blame the cigarette man types in behind the curtains who want to be more or less like Liberals only with lower taxes and a bit of muscle in the military. That was good enough for a little while but with this globalist assault on our national sovereignty and frankly on sanity (riding bicycles will not change the weather and anyway it’s too damned cold now, what’s the point?) we need something like what Max Bernier is trying to create, only with all the resources of a major party.

    This is the same dilemma faced by conservatives in many western countries. In the USA, they have Trump, and he’s obviously fighting the good fight, but I do sense that it has not been properly framed for the benefit of those who need a little more convincing. How anyone with eyes open could need that, I don’t know, but I’ve been to Ottawa and not just to see the sights, so I know what happens in this country, maybe even more things than some here. Life has taken me on quite a Canadian journey, I could write something like the Maple Archipelago at this point. But why bother if the average citizen and voter then turns around and says, “but he has such a nice smile.”

    Obama has a great smile and Fidel used to smile once or twice to relax his facial muscles during those seven hour speeches. Maybe he was going into one of those back when … well that won’t be in my book.

    For the time being, I do call on Scheer and Bernier to sit down and maybe divide up the ridings so Max can run in a few decent ridings but not split the vote, or just be men and do the right thing for Canada. This is not the time to be enabling a weak majority 2000 style (remember, and we got same sex marriage out of that fiasco).
