  1. I thought the Maldives were under water?

A Maldives court ordered the arrest and detention of former President Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Monday on charges of money laundering.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih also suspended two Cabinet ministers – Ahmed Maloof and Akram Kamaludeen – over $33,000 allegedly found in each of their accounts from the same resort development deal.

Maybe all these proceeding are being held with the aid of scuba diving equipment.

      1. Sounds like what happened in the trial of the policemen who apprehended Rodney King. If one doesn’t like the outcome of a trial, claim bias and start the whole process over again.

  2. Ok let’s speculate on who is the next resignation. Either from the PMO or the cabinet.

I’m guessing Garneau will step down and launch an attempt to dump Trudeau.

    1. If the whole thing is based on trying to force a criminal plea deal made possible by legislation slipped into a finance bill, doesn’t that implicate Moron-uh-oh?

    2. Garneau’s is a head-nodding seal in the beshitted background. He almost looks insane when you see him behind PM PantsOnFire smiling and applauding Juthtin’s every non-answer Q period. As in space, he is weightless.

    1. “Mithter Thpeaker, the reathon that–um, uh, uh–Gerald Buttth rethigned ith becauthe–uh–former Prime Minithter Thtephen Harper didn’t do–um, um, um–anything and Canadianth know that.”

        1. Oh, my…. that song takes me back to my undergrad days when it was on the radio.

Returning to Prinz Dummkopf, why does the phrase “painted into a corner” come to mind? By now, it wouldn’t surprise me if he holds a seance or uses a ouija board in the hope that he can contact Daddy and ask him for advice.

          1. Here’s a nugget:

Remember the speech HRH gave that began with Shakespeare’s line from Julius Caesar:

“Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears”….?

It seemed so out of place at PET ‘s funeral. That was written by none other than Gerald Butts!

I saw the CTV NEWS this evening to see how Lisa was going to spin. She mentioned this speech. The closeness between the Prinz and Jerry was emphasized going back to McGill days with photos of them wearing long hair. Na, this is not a breakup – more like a sniff of fake news. Before long Justy will be singing ………
Sniff sniff, Jer, Jer, “Baby Come Back!”

            (ya, cute song, eh? It’s a turn-up-the-volume-kind!)

  3. How does it make sense for Butts to leave when he did nothing wrong? Are they all worried about the truth coming from Wilson-Raybould? Will the truth have consequences for all the operatives in this scandal? What possible reason would there be for any resignations if everything was on the up and up?
Trudeau may need a joint or two before the House sits today….assuming he shows up or answers questions.

    1. What does any organization do when they know a pending audit is on the way?
They scrub everything for anything even slightly incriminating.
When they find something, they quietly dispose of the evidence before anyone else finds out.
Do you suppose that during cleaning they found something else.
Hence the invocation of plausible denial that there is no proof that anyone did anything wrong … wrt to JWR and the case against SCN ….. however if you found out about the other thing someone would be doing a perp walk.

    1. Protesters paid by outside interference in the affairs of this country in the guise of climate change/environmental BS?

      1. Liz..??
The truckers are grass root Canadians uniting Canada, pro pipeline, pro Canadian oil, fed up with Trudeau.
        Check out United We Roll

        1. I think her comment was probably a reference to the counter-protestors. That’s how I took it. For sure the counter-protestors are being paid. Why else would you head out on a -21 degree day to promote global warming BS.

    1. They just are not informed or interested in getting informed beyond their own little issues. I spoke to one older person and they didn’t know who Gerald Butts was. Pollsters are meddlers anyway, they’ll be going nuts with the developments as they unfold in the coming weeks.

  4. The National Post website reports that our no defense minister has spent over one hundred and sixty thousand dollars of taxpayer money on photos of himself. No eight dollar orange juice for him. I guess photos of him defeating the Nazis in World War 2 are expensive.

  5. Fake Climate News…

    The claim…

“50 million deaths in the New World drove cooling in the Little Ice Age”.

    The link…

    https://www.cbc.ca/radio/quirks/feb-9-2019-psychology-of-solitary-confinement-mind-over-genes-genocide-and-climate-change-and-more-1.5008739/50-million-deaths-in-the-new-world-drove-cooling-in-the-little-ice-age-1.5008748

    The money quote…

“This [the death of 50 million people and the return of their fields to forests] wouldn’t have led to a large drop in temperatures. The global impact would have only been about 0.075 C, but that small drop would have been on top of the natural cooling trend known as the Little Ice Age, which has been held responsible for famines and conflict the world over.”

Journalists are so stupid it defies explanation.

    1. So the take-away must be that if we just get rid of 50 million people, we no longer have to worry about global warming. You don’t think that’s what they are trying to say?

    1. Yes, VDH does a knack of saying it well. The coup attempt may be waning somewhat but is still in progress.

  6. The US debt is huge.

    https://nationalpost.com/news/the-utterly-unbelievable-scale-of-u-s-debt-right-now#comments-area

The comments are interesting. People blaming Trump for the debt climbing from $20 to $22 trillion knowing that Obama increased the debt by $10 trillion due to his “courage” in beating down the recession (strange Harper is not credited with that same courage even though he beat down the recession AND balanced the budget). IMHO Trump is playing this beautifully. Why should he be the “evil one” who cuts spending. Let the Democrats eventually get into power with their New Green Deal. No doubt they have a plan to transform the American economy AND pay down the massive debt.

  7. Brad Pitt’s “Make it Right” program to rebuild homes damaged after Hurricane Katrina devastated parts of New Orleans is falling on hard times. Over $50 million was raised and 109 homes were built. Each home was estimated to cost $150,000 to build. This amounts to $16.35 million. What happened to the other $33.55 million? The Clinton Foundation was one of the early “investors”.

    https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2019-02-15/when-brad-pitt-tried-to-save-new-orleans-s-lower-ninth-ward

    Now the lawyers are circling…

    1. ” The Clinton Foundation was one of the early “investors” ”
Well, that answers the question doesn’t it?

  8. Awk! Bad news on the Lav-gate front. CTV Don Martin was on, after Question Period. He has a lot of crony pals within the Liberal party so he has an ear to the Liberals. And Martin said that the Liberals on the House Justice Committee are going to vote to hear JWR in testimony. JWR is set to re-enter cabinet somewhere. It looks like everyone amongst the Liberals are ready to kiss and make up. Looks like all the momentum has been lost.

Looks like someone got to JWR.– David Murrell in Fredericton.

    1. I don’t think that will last. Someone (Trudeau?) already indicated she is not a team player. She will give them more grief — if she even agrees yo return.

    2. DM
Is that it? JWR is now back on side? She attended a cabinet meeting this morning even tho she is not a cabinet minister?

All it took was getting rid of Butts? There was nothing more to this? JWR quit as a cab min. She let bongo put words in her mouth. The libs diss her and now everything is alright. Ok then.

The libranos may have squelched this one but bongo’s brand is forever damaged.

  9. McCabe to the View: I misremembered, or I’m re-remembering, then I wrote a book to clear myself, er the air.

“I don’t believe you’re a reliable narrator and I’m not convinced this isn’t just some kind of PR campaign to stop yourself from getting indicted,” McCain said. “You were fired at the recommendation of the FBI, which, in your book, you cite four times how great of an organization it is, for your lack of candor.”

“I would like you to say right here on national TV that you were not a source for The New York Times. You were never a source for The New York Times, or any other publication, considering that is what you were accused of lying about,” McCain said.”

A stunned McCabe shot back, “Absolutely not, not at any time, ever.”

“When I was serving as deputy director, I was one of two people in the FBI that had the authority to disclose information to the media,” he said. “That is an FBI policy, it’s baked into the way that we run media relations in the organization. So I transacted on issues regarding the media every single day.”

McCain responded, “Then why did James Comey deny the claim that he approved your leaks to the press?”

“I don’t know why Jim Comey doesn’t remember the conversations that we had in the same way that I do,” McCabe answered. “It is understandable. He was under an enormous amount of stress at the time. He had a lot of other, kind of, more important things to worry about. I can’t explain why he doesn’t remember them the same way I do.”

Co-host Joy Behar then chimed in, “I thought you guys wrote everything down.”

McCabe responded that they wrote things down when dealing with people they didn’t trust.”

Actually you’re supposed to write everything down McCabe. It’s hardly a shock to hear you didn’t follow proper procedure.

    1. I think it is going to confuse the left. As a Trump initiative, the left will naturally want to oppose the move.
