Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

If you want to read an interesting book about war generally and 3 battles in particular namely; the battle at Agincourt, Waterloo, and the battle of the Somme I just can’t say enough about John Keegan’s The Face of Battle.
The book covers the fate of the soldier from his first taste of battle through victory or defeat including the wounds expected, chance of survival and including the subject of this video.
The book was first published in 1976 but holds up very well.
He also wrote a good companion work called ‘The Mask of Command.’ Both are well worth reading.
