  1. SOME of those who claim to “care” are not as they pretend to be.
    Not the first time, unfortunately.

  2. Reality is that too soon the “right to die” will become the “responsibility to die”. “Assisted dying” is a lot cheaper than walking with Granny along her final path.

  3. Why do you think elderly parents are sent to these places in the first place?

Daughters-in-law want their paydays sooner rather than later—credit card bills don’t pay themselves—and it’s still an offence in Ontario to kill your husband’s parents for their money.

    1. Been there, done that. Wish dearly Mother-in-Law hadn’t gone so early, and still remember her with fondness. My own Mum – was the “daughter-on-call” for over 20 years before it was finally decided she had to go into a home – and, in the last months before this happened, the family was openly speculating who would land in hospital first, Mum or me. Would have been the same had the situations been reversed and husband’s mother the long-lived one. But there comes a point when the stress is just too much. There’s a reason why a lot of “caregivers” go before the “cared for”.

  4. In our era of … moral-equivalency …
8 dead pensioners no longer sucking up healthcare resources … EQUALS … 16 politically-connected bureaucrats jumping the wait list for hip and knee replacement surgery.
