“The perfect storm is brewing, if not is already here for such a scenario where the government’s primary role will be to create make-work government jobs, degrees, and entire professions to keep people’s egos satiated and satisfied. And there are four ingredients (one that alone is adequate enough to make this reality) that will bring this about…”
Sounds Identical to the New “GREEN ECONOMY” Jobs….there’ll be thousands of them….
well steakman, whats the beef? (pun intended)
there certainly will be thousands of jobs.
replacing the millions of normal jobs sending them the way of the dodo bird.
did I get that the right way around?
The AGW scam has provided bountiful job opportunities for all the “Environmental Science” graduates. All the geniuses who go to college to learn that water is wet, and the sky is blue. CA is full of these useless bureaucrats who make our lives miserable on the Air Quality Board and whatnot.
I met a “manager of social development” (a government position) at a wine tasting dinner once. I responded “thank goodness she was at her job, otherwise there would be no society”. That ended all conversation with her.
I saw that sort of thing at the post-secondary institution where I taught.
I started my job at the same time as the “wellness co-ordinator” started hers. For the first few months, she didn’t do much. She went around to various vending machines, putting stickers on the windows of those snacks she thought were filled with “empty” calories. She produced a newsletter for the staff by photocopying articles from various new-age self-help magazines and passing it off as original work. Lots of times, she sat around drinking coffee.
After those first few months, she went on “stress leave” and maintained that status for more than two years. Eventually, someone caught on that the institution was being bilked and she was sacked.
The position wasn’t filled after that and her “duties” were distributed to various desks in the athletic department. Putting stickers on vending machines stopped and that newsletter ceased publication. She wasn’t missed.
I don’t know where this guy gets the idea that “America can print as much money as it wants to without causing inflation.”
My 1975 dollar is worth around 25 cents today.
Massive debt at every level of government is possible because no one believes that it will ever be repaid.
from 1970 t0 1980 the purchasing power of the Canadian dollar was reduced 100%
“The economy we have today was only done by boosting the economy with a ton of steroids in the form of debt spending. We doubled the national debt which essentially bailed everyone out of their financial sins, re-inflated asset prices and provided the stability in the economy we enjoy today.”
Yes. This was done to prevent the collapse of the banking system in the United States and Europe and to buy globalism another ten to fifteen years.
Now that the White House is occupied by a good, decent man who takes the side of American workers versus globalist parasites, the Fed is raising interest rates in hope of generating a financial crisis and mass bankruptcies—-which can then be blamed on Donald Trump.

Exactly. In most of the time that I’ve been an investor, the last few weeks of the year have, traditionally, seen the markets rise, the so-called Santa Claus rally.
That’s not happening this time. In fact, thanks to that idiot Fed chairman, Jerome Powell, my net worth has gone down significantly since September, thereby diminishing the value of my inheritance.
I know a federal gubmint worker who did NOTHING for FOUR years. Another who now works with my wife would sometimes cry Sunday night because work tomorrow consisted of NOTHING. These are not anecdotes, but merely a couple examples. I’ve been hearing of them for 40 years. Ottawa is a money pit. And yes there are hard-working busy bureaucrats as well, but is their job of any value?
And just yesterday PM Justdumb was peddling a guaranteed income.
They will kill you with the kindness of their enslavement.
I remember being at a social gathering and talking about work. I was working as an electrician at the time. The man I was talking to was a provincial civil servant who had just retired. He told me he wished he had been a tradesman because “in 40 years of working I never did anything that had any value to anyone.”
He told me he wished he had been a tradesman because “in 40 years of working I never did anything that had any value to anyone.”
Meanwhile, I’ll bet he’s crying all the way to the bank when he has to cash his generous pension cheques.
Blame the government that hired him. We the people live in the system of incentives put in front of us. In my military career I spent two postings to National Defence Headquarters in Ottawa. That was a totally unproductive time in my life. Me being there or not being there made no difference to anyone, except maybe my civilian boss who could get a bigger budget and feel more important because he had more underlings.
Also, those pension checks are (theoretically) paid for out of the 10 percent of their paychecks that are taken off them in deductions. Any average Canadian could retire a multi millionaire if they invested 10 percent of their income for 40 years.
I worked for the federal government for 3 years and had to quit. I came from industry and saw how ineffectual government was. If all gov activities were judged on how much they improve the life of Canadians there would be no government. Only a few health inspectors and cops.
Many years ago, I was a contractor at a certain Canadian government installation.
December was party time for the civil servants. The only time they did any work was if there was some field activity scheduled or someone from Ottawa showed up. The rest of the time was spent in goofing off.
Meanwhile, the contractors like me were busy because we had to write progress reports for the body brokers who hired us and farmed us out to the government.
Stuff is starting to pile up, we are heading for a crisis, there’s no way of avoiding it with this pseudo leadership we call the “Trudeau” government. Who is really calling the shots? Leaders can ask for advice on issues but they also need to have the capacity to decide how to deal with it, think it through. They have to listen to the people who are living, working and dealing with issues to know what is the right choice for all concerned, including the country.
IMO we have an agenda driven cabal at the helm and we are on a slippery slope on several fronts.
It’s way passed the time to get into Turdeaus face…
Hit him with, who is it YOU think you work for?
While answering hit him with What kind of BANKER loans money to people who haven’t been born yet?
The corrupt kind, who is it you think you work for again?
Ask it over and over again at every Liberal gathering.
Answer: bankers who do not intend to collect, but rather to sell your unborn children and grandchildren into slavery, while a Chinese settler walks off with their birthright.
“Now that the White House is occupied by a good, decent man who takes the side of American workers versus globalist parasites”
I’m sorry, I thought it just came out that the US is sending over $10 Billion to Central and South America for “economic aid and development”…?
Such is the price of keeping countries in the American sphere of influence out of Chinese hands. Big men with guns willing to use them on Chavistas don’t pay for themselves.
Meanwhile, as punishment for failing to stop Brexit, financiers are cutting the credit lines of UK firms left and right. Anybody who thinks the “private sector” gives a damn about British or American liberty must be new here.
Bribing other countries with extorted tax dollars that could be spent at home, or better yet put back in the pockets of those it was extorted from.
MCASAGA!
The world is awash with cash, and to Pluto with credit. Central, Latin America or Sudan can get as much as they want. Except, in the private sector they have to show they can, and will pay back.
The august teat sucklers at the State Dept, see something that London, New York, even the people of those shitholes don’t see. But of course flushing the money provides State Dept job security . Lots of years of grant proposal, plans, forms, in kind bribes, conferences, trips, reviews, ….and before you know it, retirement.
Affirmative action.
We already have a guaranteed annual income, it’s zero. The program is universal and can be easily accessed by anyone who wants to participate.
Under this glorious kleptocracy you have a function in life assigned by your needy government; Peon.
You,your children and your children’s children, (for which each generation will be chastised for producing) shall be good little tax slaves, serving your parasitic masters with pride.
By careful imposition of a “public education” system you shall be trained in un- think, smothered until you toe the official line and then released, illiterate and ignorant into a regimented future.
Our government agencies and most Human Resource departments are the natural homes of person who excel at beating themselves up,while despising everyone else.
Building the middle class, where everyone shall live in luxury, while producing nothing of value, enhancing our diversity.
Until there is no food.
I have often wondered how all the money printing over the last 20-230 years has not created inflation, to the degree of printing.
Well, try this out. Zero Ineterest Rate policy enabled the wealthy to syphon off trillions in “free cash”. This was invested in some markets and did create inflation: The stock market, property, in fact any equity market. It did not create new production or consumption as the great unwashed masses did not get any, no trickle down. However, this did also inflate a person’s wealth, if they were on the gravy train. The number of billionaires today, compared to 20 years ago, is staggering, causing a deflation in status of being merely a billlionaire.
So, in summary, the money printing did create inflation but that was limited to the profterring class; the engineers and joe blows were not directly impacted, hence the “low” inflation fo thuis period.
Robert’s third theory of government (which is mine): A government monopoly creates a dearth. (See previous Ontario pot story). Now, if they control our lives, how long do you suppose we shall live?
