Into a hundred thousand million pieces.
A video recorded by Google shortly after the 2016 presidential election reveals an atmosphere of panic and dismay amongst the tech giant’s leadership, coupled with a determination to thwart both the Trump agenda and the broader populist movement emerging around the globe.
[…]
The video is a full recording of Google’s first all-hands meeting following the 2016 election (these weekly meetings are known inside the company as “TGIF” or “Thank God It’s Friday” meetings). Sent to Breitbart News by an anonymous source, it features co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, VPs Kent Walker and Eileen Naughton, CFO Ruth Porat, and CEO Sundar Pichai. It can be watched in full above. It can and should be watched in full above in order to get the full context of the meeting and the statements made.
It was reported earlier this week that Google tried to boost turnout among the Latino population to help Hillary Clinton, only to be dismayed as the usually solid Democratic voting bloc switched to the GOP in record numbers. This video shows a similar level of dismay among Google’s most high-profile figures.
These individuals, who preside over a company with unrivaled influence over the flow of information, can be seen disparaging the motivations of Trump voters and plotting ways to use their vast resources to thwart the Trump agenda.

CEO Sundar Pichai states that the company will develop machine learning and A.I. to combat what an employee described as “misinformation” shared by “low-information voters.”
Video at the link.

This comment appeared in a story about McCaln funeral. It applies to Google as well. Us low information voters know a lot more about who’s been screwing us than the Google folks think we do.
“The people in that cathedral gave us $20T in debt, $800B trade deficits, 9/11, repeated wars in foreign lands, the hollowing out of our industrial base, disrespect for our institutions, disrespect for us as a people, the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, a foreign invasion never before seen in our history and racial tensions as bad as they have been in a long time. Screw em.”
Google and Facebook and Twitter, oh my!
Google and Facebook and Twitter, oh my!
More election damage done by these a55h0l3s than China, Russia, and Korea (N) combined.
It begins. November the Democrats get all but wiped out as a political party…
LOL the D’s are over 9 points ahead on the generic ballot.
the D s are 9 points ahead? is that like when Hillary had 95 % chances of winning then Trump won easily?
hahaha!
When Americans start using the term “Clear and Present Danger” to describe the threat posed to freedom and democracy by tech companies like Google, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter the rest of us will finally believe that they have come to their senses.
Should any group of companies be allowed to exert this level of influence over a country and its people?
Come on; when it’s a choice between chasing more billions, or suspending their rape of the country and their war on the deplorables, there is no choice at all, in this scummy group’s eyes.
There was a time when it would have been unthinkable for a top corporate executive to say such treasonous things, because it is disgraceful to do so. But the tech billionaires have no shame, and will continue their war on the country until Congress recognizes they are as much of a threat as the Chinese, and must be broken up, for a start.
Of course they should. It’s their right, and they are wiser than the politicians they are trying to guide. Make something better if it upsets you so.
Again. Don’t break them up. Nationalize them, lock the management up and throw away the keys.
Put the firm in the hands of people who will be pro-active both about turning over the search history of perverts and terrorists to law enforcement and about removing pornography and fake news from search results.
Make the champagne socialists play by their own rules. If the rest of us don’t have the right to enjoy the fruits of our labour, neither do they.
The rot is present throughout all ranks of the company. What you are suggesting would be turned into another weapon by any Democrat President, as Obama did the IRS, to be turned against enemies of his regime. But you have always expressed sympathy with the leftists, or advocated for their positions, so I’m not surprised you advocate for making all Google into foot soldiers of a new Federal thugocracy.
What you’ve described is literally the plot of 1984.
Sorry “A Canadian” that kind of BS is damned near straight outa Mein Kamp. We dont need an SA in Canada, we’ve already got the Liberals.
Hummmm, one wonders how much foreign money they get?
Section 1. (a) Not later than 45 days after the conclusion of a United States election, the Director of National Intelligence, in consultation with the heads of any other appropriate executive departments and agencies (agencies), shall conduct an assessment of any information indicating that a foreign government, or any person acting as an agent of or on behalf of a foreign government, has acted with the intent or purpose of interfering in that election.

The good news is that their best effort didn’t work.
You can only hypnotize people eager to be hypnotized, and there are fewer of them than you might suppose.
So Big Social Media is doing exactly what newspaper conglomerates and major news media organziations have been doing since forever. Oddly, I don’t see SDAers loudly shrieking that the New York Times is censoring them because it won’t print their letters to the editor.
Good first point. Re. the NYT, it is not as invasive into the lives of ordinary citizens as the others, hence the greater concern. My kids don’t read the NYT or watch CNN. They do use Google & co.
When I hit a new tab in Google, a bunch of suggested stories come up “based on your preferences”. They are all total leftist BS…. have nothing to do with my preferences at all… just more propaganda and support of the Narrative. Attempts to cast aspersion on Common Sense disguised as “new and thought-provoking analysis”.
I agree with those who say that government control is not the answer. How about the US Gov’t fine them to within an inch of their existence, so that their lies/filters are exposed and they are too afraid to ever go that route again. They would be tempted if there is ever another Dem administration, but the risk of another genuine leader (small, but still there) might keep them in line.
My take away from this is that Google does not consider themselves to be the company of a specific country. They have a political agenda (belief) that is at odds with “populist” ideas in many countries, and like Soros would like to mold the world into their philosophical view. they apparently think that everyone should have the same mindset as they do…worldwide and there is no room for common local attitudes when those attitudes are at odds with their beliefs. That view appears to require a control of peoples thoughts and actions to eliminate any dissension. i was pleased that they acknowledged the actions of previous administrations (although without naming Obama) when responding to fears that were raised about possible future actions of a Trump government. They admitted that those fears raised had already come to pass before Trump took office. I did find it humorous when they almost broke their arms patting themselves on the back for being instrumental in improving the world over the last decades.
Spot on. These execs. have comfortably become Whirled Citizens and joined the ranks of Ignatieff, Soros, et al. Let us not forget the “secret” Google barges, off shore data centers, which were being built to operate miles off shore easily within reach of international waters if necessary. I think abandonment of this project ushered in the tactical shift we find so evident today. That, coupled with unprecedented access/partnership to the NWO during the Obama disaster (administration) and deep state infiltration, allowed info tech giants to go full globalist. Presently they are budding fascists. Unfortunately history has shown no easy remedy for this condition.
While I understand “A Canadian’s” sentiment, the solution he poses is untenable to conservative standards. The difficult path is prosecution and excision of bad actors. Failing that, I would find eradication of bad actors preferable to nationalization which plays easily into the fascist hand. Quite frankly, when that occurs the execs. aren’t long for the trench anyway.
no no no no. goddammit NO.
according to the hard core right wing, we must NOT introduce regulation into the market.
laissez faire MUST prevail. this according to the hard right wing guru Milton Freidman.
‘ the Market the Market the Market !’ remember that?
the heroic disciple ronald reagan showed the way by crushing the regulators of the financial market which precipitated the mortgage collapse. the rest were just around when it actually happened.
got that o conservatists? hmmm? bunch of fcuking hypocrites.
hb, you are a complete idiot. The most precipitous event of the 2008 US financial collapse was the MASSIVE bailout of socialist Europe after they tapped out the Irish. This was sponsored by the Bush era Keynesian Fed.
Freedom of speech is an integral part of any free market. It is not a regulation but rather a guarantee of freedom of access. Now PI55 OFF
“Bush era”
no YOU pyss off along with dubya whom I pegged real early as a ‘friend in high places’ of the big money boyz.
you wanna get personal, lets do it. you set the time and place and I will proceed to beat some understanding of the real world into your mouthy face.
You take no victory claiming to have recognized Bush as a problem after laying the blame squarely on Reagan. Failing an intellectual recovery you challenge a fight. Beware, this is a behavioral pattern. The resultant concussions have rendered you unfit to be taken seriously.
Go to a mirror. Read the last sentences you wrote three times with vigor.
There. That’s how stupid you are.
It was creepy watching the comments and questions from the “Googlers” in the audience. It was all very cult-like. I would last about 3 seconds in that kind of work environment.
Steve you took the words right out of my mouth.
Google is clearly operating as a cult inside the company. I honestly don’t know how anyone with a brain can work there. After that crazy meeting who working at Google in their right mind would espouse a contradictory view to the cult if they wanted to keep their job?
And Google responds that they are not biased. What a joke. It is a lie.
I think at this point Google feels they are invincible hence even as a public company they have no concerns lying about their actual plans and motives.
At some point in the google video Pinchai says he knows that women are VERY AFRAID now that Trump has been elected
That tells you how disconnected from reality Pinchai is, and all those leftist women are.
To be ” VERY AFRAID” simply because Trump is now President clearly indicates those people have serious mental problems
The fact those people totally and completely believe Trump is more dangerous than Hitler shows how deeply brainwashed they are .
If I told my doctor that I warn everyone that now that Walmart sells strawberry flavoured protein bars I am VERY AFRAID VERY VERY AFRAID, she would send me to a psychiatrist or a psychologist.
Especially if I said it with a shaky voice and tears in my eyes ( Pinchai had a shaky voice and tears in his eyes, he was THAT afraid for women under a Trump administration… )
Trump is a danger to women in the USA about as much as strawberry protein bars are a danger to me.
That Google video is about 2 years old , Trump has been President for almost 2 years…ok… Find me ONE just ONE woman that was persecuted and put in danger by the Trump administration, just ONE.
those people at Google are completely insane, this is not an opinion, it is a diagnostic.
Good luck.
WE ARE THE BORG…….we have propeller hats!
Seriously.
“Google Employees Mocked for ‘Cult-Like’ Propeller Caps”

“These individuals, who preside over a company with unrivaled influence over the flow of information, can be seen disparaging the motivations of Trump voters and plotting ways to use their vast resources to thwart the Trump agenda.”
Good. Google-ocracy isn’t ideal, but it’s a hell of a lot better than what we’ve got now.
Public law 601 (section 121, subsection Q (2))
Welcome to the list.
Google controlling election results is better than an imperfect democracy?
what if a company owned by Trump did that, would you say the same?
