  1. Have a safe trip, Kate.
Watch out for flaming sparky cars.

Just hours after Elon Musk appeared on a comedy podcast, where he smoked pot, demonstrated his flamethrower and mused philosophically, Tesla’s chief accounting officer unexpectedly gave notice he’s resigning just one month into the job, citing the level of scrutiny on the electric-car maker.
After the podcast Telsa stock has fallen another 10 percent and their bonds have tanked.

Anyone want to buy some large lithium batteries, never dropped and only used once?

    1. When I posted the first comment it gave me an error for not having the correct Captcha, then it sent me back to the post, had no idea where that came from?
When I reposted it gave me two comments.

  3. Oh, and PS … my lonnnng weekend will NOT include a single live or televised NFL game. The NFL is dead to the kid who lived and breathed American football growing up. Played it, watched it, adored the stars … totally immersed in it. The kid who still (literally) weeps when hearing Ed Sabol narrate a classic NFL Film. Football changed my life. It provided a positive alternative to my shitty upbringing. It provided a “family” when mine disintegrated. It gave me focus and purpose (along with school). It supplied my best friends, and taught me how to be a teammate. It even provided my first real girlfriend.

But it’s dead to me now. I don’t recognize it … at all. No worry … I’m just an olllllld “Boomer”. My demographic is no longer interesting to the bean counting, focus-testing, NFL exec. I had always “progressed” with the game. When the “urban” players started doing tribal dances in the end zone … I shed my inner Lombardi and embraced the joy of it all. I’d even become reconciled to the fact that the speed and violence of the game simply HAD to be managed with the elimination of helmet hits. Tough for a kid who was taught to “stick my nose in the numbers” … if not “in the ear hole”. But the NFL, with its current “Commissar” has completely jumped the shark. The game has sent a clear and loud message to me … we don’t NEED or WANT your type around here anymore. OK, fine by me. Sad and Pathetic. But if my rough upbringing has taught me anything … it’s taught me to abandon lost causes. To shake the dust off my sandals and move-on when and where I’m not wanted. The NFL doesn’t want me, doesn’t respect me, doesn’t respect my country … and saddest of all … doesn’t respect the game.

Not a problem, this all-American football kid has fully embraced International Soccer. Yeah, I’ll watch the US look silly vs Brazil today. Watch Spain humiliate the WC darling English team on the weekend (see, I’m even adopting the English phrasing). And my new Canadian son in law is reintroducing me to the NHL. :). The NFL has made its bed, doubled-down on its bed, and will now have to reap the cratering ratings. -8% viewership … then -10% viewership .. and in 2018 I predict more and bigger (-) cratering numbers. The NFL believed their polling like SHE believed HER polling numbers. SHE learned HER lesson in the most Epic FAIL in the history of American Politics … SHE pushed that “Dewey over Truman” meme into the dustbin of history. I suspect the NFL is next. It’s about to go the way of American Rugby … relegated to a novelty College and “Club” sport after having been the #1 sport for a time (and I played rugby through my college years … so that’s not a dig at Rugby).

    1. You might try the CFL while you’re at it. Seems the Canadian version specializes in last-minute wins.
