After the recent Mountain View crash, another driver posted video online showing his Tesla, on Autopilot, veering toward the same median where Huang died. Teslas are a common sight on that stretch of Highway 101, at the junction of Highway 85, so cars running on Autopilot should have plenty of experience with it.
“I see the same things: The car makes the same mistake in the same place, and it’s not learning,” said Dave Sullivan, manager of product analysis at automotive market research firm AutoPacific. “The car doesn’t necessarily know what’s right from what’s wrong yet.”

“Jason Kenney eyes carbon tax axe resolution at his party’s founding convention
RED DEER, Alta. – Alberta United Conservative leader Jason Kenney says he won’t speak to the policy resolutions to be debated at his party’s founding policy convention this weekend, but if he gets a mandate to fight carbon taxes he’ll use it immediately.
“If we have a strong anti-carbon tax resolution passed on Sunday I will be taking that with me on Monday when I appear before the House of Commons finance committee as a witness on the (federal) carbon tax bill,” Kenney said Friday in Red Deer.”

A Chula Vista school mural that depicts the bloody, severed head of President Donald Trump on a spear sparked a controversy that prompted officials to cover it and issue a response distancing themselves from the work.
While school officials said Andrade has agreed to change the painting, she was defiant and proud of it on Facebook post earlier this week.
No, neither balanced, nor thoughtful, but rather a more subtle variation of speciousness. The writer articulates an argument based on Prof. Peterson’s book or lectures by inserting false premises. Thus to reason to unsound conclusions, as in the excerpts below:
1.”For example, chaos, from which evil springs forth, is inherently feminine; order (the antidote) is masculine. Boys are stronger, more hardwired to dominate, and should be unleashed, not tamed. ”
Yes, and the corollary is, that the antidote to too much order is to venture into the chaos/nature(feminine) to learn new things about the world. Thus to optimize both. Men dominate in the areas culture(the good father) in setting standards and borders and venturing into chaos/new frontiers. Women dominate in infants care and group cohesion with higher levels of agreeableness in family and business life.
Where we’ve lost the balance is with the current social/political dominance of pathological empathy. It is a long warned of error, e.i. the poem/song of the woman and the snake, who having saved the snakes life is bitten and naively asks why. To be told “you knew I was a snake when you took me in.” Canada’s most intractable problems stem from the over protective mother: infantilizing students, public institutions and now infiltrating into the private sector, too.
2.”Therein lies danger. Peterson may articulate an end goal of balance, but at the moment he’s offering order against chaos, yang against yin. The effort is, by definition, reactionary, counter-revolutionary. But once you place yourself squarely on one side of the pendulum, you’ll inevitably exaggerate the collective demerits of the other while indulging in-group excesses. Dogma throughout history has had its freedom-killing flaws, he readily admits, but, well, sometimes people just need to be told what to do. This is conscious authoritarianism, and Peterson is volunteering for the job.” –
Prof. Peterson’s lectures and book, indeed, his entire public campaign argue for free debate/scientific inquiry, the balance between Yin and Yang necessary for optimal being/life. He does not place himself, nor does he argue for anyone to be on one side of the pendulum.
Success in life is balancing between life in explored territory(order) and forays into unexplored territory(disorder/chaos), done to obtain new knowledge beneficial to survival.
A relevant historical note: “Process being the better part of reality” (Alfred North Whitehead).
Peterson argues for accepting the responsibility as individuals to engage in the process of braving new frontiers while retaining what is valuable from tradition and culture. A process which the success of the Judeo/Christian based Western Civilization is based upon.
Anyone actually familiar with Prof. Peterson’s lectures and book would know his argument for the primacy of the process of open inquiry and free debate being the antidote to totalitarianism. The reason.com article fails, as most critiques have, if the reader is familiar with Prof. Peterson’s lectures and book.

The good folks in Karl Marx’s home town are celebrating his 200th birthday, and they are erecting an 18 foot tall bronze statue of Karl in the town square.
The statue is MADE IN CHINA,as f***ing near everything is these days.
Made in China? That is funny, but so appropriate. The Sparticists seem to be winning in Deutschland. Next thing you know Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg will be considered heroes. Where is the Freikorps when you need it?
Trump, Kim Jong Un To Become Accountability Partners
PYONGYANG—Shortly after the announcement that President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un would be meeting together, the pair further confirmed that they had struck up a friendship and would become each other’s “accountability partners.”
The two have agreed to meet weekly for coffee to help each other resist the temptation to begin World War 3.
“As iron sharpens iron, so one powerful egomaniac sharpens another,” President Trump said as he and the North Korean dictator began perusing the first chapter of Rick Warren’s The Purpose-Driven Life together. “Let’s begin with a word of prayer. Father God, we thank you for bringing the two of us together this morning, and we just pray, Father God, that you would just, just just use this time to help bring us closer to each other and closer to You. Amen.”
From Breitbart, the illegal immigrant criminal element and how it is orchestrated:
“Of the more than 360 Bangladeshi nationals who have crossed the U.S. southern border illegally, more than 300 have entered in Texas, officials stated.
Laredo Sector Assistant Chief Patrol Agent Gabriel Acosta told Breitbart Texas on Thursday that the Bangladeshi nationals do not pick their point of entry into the U.S.
‘That is determined by the transnational criminal organization (TCO) that works with the smugglers from the country of origin, into South America, up through Central America, and into Mexico,’ Acosta explained. ‘They are paying upward of $27,000 each to be smuggled into the U.S.’”
The illegal crossings by these foreign nationals proves-up a point that Border Patrol agents have been telling Breitbart Texas for years. That being that there is a direct pipeline from countries with connections to terrorism to South American and then north where drug cartels are paid large sums of cash to smuggle them across the border.
Chief Owens told Breitbart Texas that all of the Bangladeshi nationals are men — mostly between the ages of 18-35.”
So Ford kicked Tanya Allen out of the PC party after she supported him and won the nomination in her riding. Becuase diversity, homophobia, Islamophobia.

Michael Moore wishes Karl Marx a happy 200th birthday, with many more candles snuffed out by his ideology, and compares him to Jesus Christ, the prophet or perhaps the socialist. Not the one I know.
In related news, Moore announced he has repudiated all of his wealth, career and awards in honour of Marx day.
Not.
“Happy 200th Birthday Karl Marx! You believed that everyone should have a seat at the table & that the greed of the rich would eventually bring us all down. You believed that everyone deserves a slice of the pie. You knew that the super wealthy were out to grab whatever they could.”
I doubt Michael shared many of his pies.
But leftist identism has seconds on greed, malevolence, ignorance, hypocrisy, diversion, obfuscation, projection, violence and increasingly addled economic situational awareness.
In reply to John Chittick re rally at the BC Legislature.
I’ll be driving down from mid-island with three other friends and have encouraged others to do likewise. However, I’m under no illusion. Severely normal people don’t generally take part in rallies and we won’t see a lot of individuals with hand-painted signs like those on the left. The news outlets will use a long shot to demonstrate how small the rally is, unlike the tight shots they use for ‘anti-this, anti-that’ events.
Every time I see those big inflated Orcas (or that big inflated Elizabeth May) I know that there is big organization and big bucks behind the whole, staged affair.

This isn’t new news but surprising its on the CBC. (You won’t hear PM Dressup or McKenna talking about this, especially when the “First Nations” are suing them because they don’t want to remain enthralled by government enforced poverty.)
