Art Of The Deal

China’s president promises to cut auto import tariff;

President Xi Jinping promised to cut auto import taxes, open China’s markets and improve conditions for foreign companies in a speech Tuesday that called for international cooperation against a backdrop of a spiraling dispute with Washington over trade and technology.

Speaking at a business conference, Xi made no direct mention of his American counterpart, Donald Trump, or the tariff spat. But he mentioned themes that are key irritants in relations with Washington, repeating pledges to open China’s banking and finance industries to foreign ownership and to protect the intellectual property of foreign companies.

  1. … and in response … the US Stock Market UP UP UP >350 points
Yeah … just a “fake” Chinese response. Money talks, Gord Tulk walks.

  2. Interesting.
Meanwhile the Canadian government run by the Liberals of Canada have been bought off and owned by the Chinese communist government for decades now . Starting with Jean Cretin and now by Justin Trudope jr.

  3. It seems that the US trade deficit is about $380 billion yearly. I wonder how many US citizens would be willing to sign a check for 1 billion dollars each and every day of the year And almost 2 billion dollars on Sundays. Not to many I would guess!

    1. But, but, but … we get really CHEAP (albeit tainted) Chinese dog food down at the local Walmart or from an Amazon warehouse …

      1. But Kenji I thought the Chinese prefer to eat dog meat, in a variety of recipes…
(And I say that advisedly on a dog breeder/lovers site.)

  4. Trump is making the Chinese say uncle… from intellectual property rights to the norks. The chicoms are voluntarily making concessions that would be unheard of when zero was in the white house.

The chicoms began their purchase of Canada after they bought Mo Strong. Chretien was an easy purchase as he was always for sale. Wasn’t there some guy Marshall something who was a collaborator who might have set the table? I can’t remember and can’t be bothered looking it up.

    1. Saying you are going to do a thing is not the same as doing that thing.
It is Chinese culture to seem agreeable, say one thing, but to do another thing.

Time is not on America’s side. Americans change administrations and the entire policy trajectory along with the administration change.
      The PRC does neither.

  5. So let’s ignore the hundred billions worth of tariffs? Are you guys really that clueless?

  6. Hey lets talk about the Cohen raids? All the decision makers involved are Trump appointees.

That’s a good art of the deal!

  7. When decide to fight, you are making the choice that you will take some punches to the face.

If you are already getting punched, and you know that you can’t make it stop, you can choose to fight back, or you can just keep taking punches.

Since 1905, Saskatchewan has been taking punches; we have yet to do anything about it. Trump has decided that America has been taking punches, and that he should do something about it.

He knows that the USA will suffer some punches; but they already were anyway.

  8. North Korea is the bridge to confederation with China, and China is the bridge to a confederation with Russia. That’s the endgame, but it won’t happen until Daniel’s 4th beast, diverse from the other 3, shows up.
