  1. “According to Chinnaiah Jangam, a professor of South Asian history at Carleton University, Gandhi never saw Africans as equals to Indians, despite being treated by the British as a second-class subject himself.”

Until recently I thought the tv show “The Great Race” was a documentary about Caucasians.

  2. So, India is getting some introduction to the bucket of crabs… good. I wonder if Hindus are going to get pushed down below whitey…

  3. How ironic that the students are enacting their own SJW caste system. Where caucasians are the untouchables, and illegal immigrants ovvvvv cullller who work for less than minimum wage … are the Brahmin.

These purges are absurdly laughable … but are a deadly serious escalation of the current culture WAR we invited, er Obama invited into our homeland

    1. An SJW caste system… that really is what they are doing isn’t it. We need to Alynski them: force them to live up to their own standards.

Why are you running white men in this election? How alt-Reich of you…
Pelosi is so privileged, how triggering that you are supporting that cisnormative candidate…

We need to help them, chase themselves, out of their own political party.

      1. That’s not forcing them to live up to their standards. That’s internalizing and validating them.

        1. The SJW class simply cannot get by on the content of their character, so they wail and cry that it’s not “fair”.

  4. I can get onside with this one. Gandhi was a jerk. Drank his own urine and precipitated the downfall of the British Empire. Besides, he dressed like Justhtin.

  5. Ben Kingsley was the son of an English mother and a father of Indian descent. Since he played Ghandi in the movie about him made in the early 1980s, does that mean he’s half-guilty of cultural appropriation?

    1. “According to Chinnaiah Jangam, a professor of South Asian history at Carleton University, Gandhi never saw Africans as equals to Indians, despite being treated by the British as a second-class subject himself.”

So awful was Gandhi’s treatment at the hands of the evil British that he was reduced to studying law at the Inner Temple in London and more or less forced to become a mere barrister.

(His mistreatment largely occurred within the rigidly race-defined society of South Africa, where Indians were sandwiched between whites and blacks. Rather unsurprisingly, Gandhi as a lawyer was pre-occupied with representing the rights of Indians there – I wonder how Professor Jangam views, say, native activist lawyers in Canada who only concern themselves with native rights?)

The disgrace! How dare those long-dead historical figures of the past so callously fail to live up to our 21st Century standards?!

  6. Ah, the Wisdom of this generation! Gandhi is not good enough for Me! American presidents are not good enough, pure enough for Me, Me, Me!! Explorers, inventors, forgers of nations….. all waiting to be judged and found wanting by Me, Me, Me!!!!
The only statue that can withstand the scrutiny of my Woke Superiority is one of Me!
‘Cuz in comparison, I have accomplished so much!

I’ll take them more seriously when they start applying the same rules of disqualification to Che, Mao, Lenin, Obama, and John Lennon.

  7. If these University students keep this up, there won’t be anything left for the new government of Mohammed to tear down when they take over this country!

  8. It’s sad to think that a good chunk of this generation will be child bearers…unless of course motherhood (oops . parenthood), becomes the target of the month…One truly hopes some form of common sense will seep through once pay stubs are examined, taxes paid, Maintenance for home/auto, child care and a certain wokeness occurs to REALITY….that very ideal they seem to be constantly at war with.

  9. At the rate the institutionalized brats are purging history from what’s left of western culture can the book burning be far behind?

    1. Getting rid of statues isn’t ‘purging history’. This is a tempest in a teacup.

      1. And weak Egyptian leaders who followed wildly popular Egyptian Kings … chiseled the faces of the predecessors off statues, monuments, and relief panels. In a feeble attempt to “erase” their memory. However! Those weak Egyptian rulers didn’t have an entirely leftist cabal of school teachers and university professors to help with the erasure.

      2. “Getting rid of statues isn’t ‘purging history’.”

Oh yes, it is – even when everyone agrees on the statue in question (i.e., Hitler, Stalin, Saddam Hussein).

    2. “Dort wo man Bücher verbrennt, verbrennt man am Ende auch Menschen.”
      – Heinrich Heine

  10. Debating Gandhi’s legacy has merit. I think he’s a cretin, but not because he held views that probably 90% of the world at that time shared, but because of his politics – politics that led to the deadliest civil war in human history.

But these clowns at Carleton don’t have a clue about that and certainly wouldn’t want to be possible seen as critical of muslims or hindus.

  11. All hail the American Taliban.
For there is no difference in their thinking.
    Tear down the idols.
Purge the commons of al things past.
Dynamite those Buddhist monuments, tear down those statues.
No need to remind Unperson what an idiot it be.
Why do you think people put up statues?
    Got a clue?
Those ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it.
And we are doing it at 78rpm.
    Spiralling on down.

  12. “What a time to be alive.” At the rate liberal democracy is being attacked and destroyed by the Marxist left and even by some of our leadership in the west you will soon be able to paraphrase the character Lara in Dr. Zhivago and insert the word ‘horrible’ between ‘a’ and ‘time’ while they were waiting and hiding in the abandoned estate house for whatever would befall next.

Almost daily now there is another event foretelling the radical left’s desire to overthrow our society. We are being destroyed from within.

  13. c. 1938 Gandhi advised Jews to just offer up their lives to the Nazis. Non-violent resistance worked against the British Empire but is probably not a viable option most of the time.

But no, leave the statue. Leave all statues even those of evil men as teaching moments. Don’t re-write history and don’t backdate current pieties.

  14. I posed this Q to the ontariowe teachers federation regarding their ‘recommendation’ (ie keep waiting until it morphs into a strike inducing demand) to ‘off’ Old McDonald’s name.

the Q was, did any recognized group, delegation, high level authority, clucking wannabe, did ANY indigenous party/group/wtfEVER, approach you people requesting this? did native broach the topic first, or, OR, did the teachers up and engage in paternalism yet again and come up with the idea all your own? in other words, doing EXACTLY the same thing theyre up in arms about . . . . .

I NEVER got a clear answer but an invitation to ‘browse’ the (HUNDREDS OF) pages of their offical web site.

  15. Maybe this group travel to China and tell people there to tear down all the Mao statues.

The likely result is we would never see these relativistic morons again.

    Maybe that’s a “good” thing?
