She has no need for the “little people”

All Catherine McKenna needs now is to perfect the royal wave as she dismisses anyone that disagrees with her.

“I have no time for folks who are you know, ‘We shouldn’t take action,’” McKenna said.

I’m sorry, I thought she was a civil servant, there to serve all Canadians, not just those that agreed with her. Of course she said so much more while on Question Period. Read the whole awful tale and why it is a problem here.

  1. Simple “attitude adjustment” exercise:

“Red” states simply cut off the food, water, fuel, etc. that make the “Blew” states and DC run.

Watch their “cultivated” societies collapse to a replica of Detroit.

  2. Question:
Increasing the costs to Canada’s clean non-coal powered industry while giving the coal powered industry in China a free pass will__________
    A: Reduce overall pollution.
    B: Increase overall pollution.
    C: You’re a racist and we’re saving the planet!

  3. C C Barbie whenever pressed resorts to fall back position: She and people who agree with her favour a “price on pollution”. When frustrated in this interview she blurts it out as well. Can anyone in her position really be that dumb, to think carbon is a pollutant? I don’t know, perhaps she just thinks the fellow Canadians, the ones she does have time for are dumb enough to believe that. Anyway she continues to use it at will as one of her talking points, too bad commentators wouldn’t unmercifully hold her to an explanation of said point. The arrogance of the ruling Liberals knows no bounds.

  4. Complaining about provinces not having a CO2 reduction plan while refusing to state what you estimate reductions will be with a carbon tax is a major weakness for Liberals. We should not stop going after them for this one. If their only plan is to charge people taxes on fuels while stating nothing about its anticipated effectiveness, they are in big trouble on this one. Canadians who are going to see prices rise significantly as a result of their tax should be enraged.

    1. The NDP in Alberta does the same thing. Whenever asked about how much carbon emissions will be reduced by their policies they don’t have an answer. And yes, prices of a lot of things, especially food, have risen significantly.

      1. And the increase in food price is a feature not a bug. This gives them an excuse to raise taxes to help the poor who cannot afford food. The entire climate change hysteria is just a massive redistribution scheme meant to cut the western middle class down to size and make it more dependent on the government.

  5. She switched the narrative from carbon to pollution. Of course nobody likes pollution. Solomon let her slip on this point.
Is carbon or CO2 pollution? C’mon Barbie.

  6. Stoichiometrically, a ton of CO2 from petrol works out to ~110 gallons burned or ~416L, at $50/T this is about $0.12/L, a 10-13% price increase. It is for the children you guys, don’t you feel good now?

  7. They should be required to report the cost & benefit numbers. If anyone looks into the numbers, they know that the benefits are ridiculously small.
Bjorn Lomborg on the Paris Accord: “My own research and the only peer-reviewed published assessment of the Paris agreement used the United Nation’s favorite climate model to measure the impact of every nation fulfilling every major carbon-cutting promise in the treaty between now and 2030. I found that the total temperature reduction will be just 0.086 degrees Fahrenheit by 2100 …And what does it cost to make such feeble cuts? A great deal. This is likely to be among most expensive treaties in the history of the world.”

Canada produces less than 2% of global CO2 emissions so the benefit would be substantially less than .086 degress Fahrenheit. .0086 F? .00086 F.? At that rate of benefit (basically zero) any cost, in money or jobs, is too high. If Liberals and the rest of the chattering class are looking for a symbolic gesture then sacrificing a chicken at every equinox and solstice while chanting incantations to Gaia would be just as effective.

  8. So I’ve never understood how they come up with a “ton” of CO2…? How does one even calculate that. What does one molecule weigh..?

If that is indeed what a “Ton” is based on..ie 2000 lbs..?

Meh, it really doesn’t matter – She’s an idiot in a Cabinet of utter imbeciles. And, AFAIAC…its a bloody wealth transfer scheme to destabilize Western Economies – a Globalist desire…Trudeau wanting to be front & Centre of that BS….with this DipShit waving the Climate Flag trying to keep up to Tinkerbell. Meanwhile Canada’s newly minted Porter Service (Division of Immigration), the RCMP, is gleefully handling bags at the rate of 2500/month on our unguarded Borders…unreal.

We got ourselves a seriously flawed mess in Ottawa and I truly hope to Christ, they don’t F’k it up beyond all repair.

    We need a coup…SOON.!

    1. Sorry Steakman but that’s high school chemistry. The units of mols are used to convert between numbers of atoms and masses.

I agree that it doesn’t really matter because they have no knowledge of what they really want. Their ideal world would be one where the partial pressure of CO2 is so low that tree line moved down below 1000m, Alberta becomes desert, the northern territories are all glaciated at sea level, maple trees won’t grow north of Tennessee, and any orbital change brings about the next ice age. They can’t see that the difference in biodiversity between the poles and the equatorial regions show that life likes hotter instead of colder.

  10. MacKenna strikes me as either stupid, sociopathic… or more likely, both. Is MacKenna like her actor boss Juthtin, an imbecile? I know that I can’t stand to listen her voice, so grating, so irritating… she sounds like a cross between Barney Fife and Ed Grimley, “I must say”… She is constantly regurgitating her talking points to the point of nausea, usually going unchallenged by her Media friends. The arrogance of these Liberal fascists is stunning even for Liberals. A combination of arrogance and ignorance at dangerous levels, usually covered up by the Media who give nit-wits like Juthtin and MacKenna a free ride. MacKenna is a shockingly ignorant person regarding her file and her staggering Liberal arrogance is only emboldened by a compliant hopelessly corrupt Media.

    1. No, you’re missing the point. She’s an ideologue. She utterly and completely believes the stuff she spouts. Never underestimate the insanity of a true believer.

      1. I’ll not say any thing about bible thumpers here, it may get a lot of panties in a knot. You absolutely right though, and religion set the bench mark for ideological ignorance, and even proved using fMIR studies:-)))

  11. Faith Goldie sure can call them.
Climate Barbie it will be for decades, this halfwit will be paid to stay out of Canada ,should we ever have another Liberal Government. And if this country survives this Cabinet of Fools and Bandits.
The Liberal Members of Parliament deserve all credit here, without their stunningly useless nodding compliance this idiocy could not go on, but it has continued.
The guillotine is too good for all of them.

    1. If the True Believers were serious about reducing effectively reducing CO2 emmissions then they’d be advocating for effective, concrete changes and bring others on board by offering “no regret” solutions. For example, they’d could use a small increase in the federal gst to replace the few remaining coal plants with clean(er) baseload power. By baseload, I mean reliable, dispatchable power like hydro where feasible , nuclear where accepted and cc-natgas everywhere else. If they can bail out Bombardier and the auto industry then they can pay for the replacement of coal plants that, according to alarmists, will destroy civilization and doom the planet. It can be sold as a Hoover Dam or Tennessee Valley Authority infrastructure project.

Then, wait. If the Paris Accord, like every other climate accord, fails then Canada is done but at a reasonable cost and has spent the money wisely on reliable electricity. If the Paris Accord isn’t an absolute failure, then and only then at look transportation and other big emmission areas.

      1. actually, if they started running government fiscally effective, there would be an instant CO2 reduction. Every time there is work slow down on a national scale, CO2 out put reduces. If 1/2 of government employees were let go because they force the other 1/2 to work effectively, instant reduction. But that is too hard for those to figure out.

        1. My point is that if the alarmists really thought CAGW was an existential threat to humanity then they’d act like it was an existential threat. Going full nuclear power, for instance. They’re not acting like it’s a real threat, it’s doomsday theatre with ulterior motives.

Even if a person doesn’t understand the science, the policies are typical big government policies – tax and spend, throw money at cronies, fly off to endless conferences, hypocritically scold citizens about their sinful behaviour while the jetsetter class have a huge carbon footprint. CAGW is an excuse to grow government revenue and power, and reward allies- just like every other doomsday scare in the 20th century.

          1. …and not publicly releasing the cost-benefit analysis for review supports the idea that climate change is not the catastrophe they say it is.

          2. “then they’d act like it was an existential threat. Going full nuclear power, for instance. They’re not acting like it’s a real threat”

Good comment. This above is an exquisite part. Especially the “going full nuclear part”. (which by-the-way we will logically have to do at some point, but not now when we have so much oil/gas/coal and have so many facilities which use oil/gas/coal.
It makes no sense to change or sanction or exchange energy sources at all at this time except to understand that the Elites want to kill most of us through privation, the sanctioning/rationing of energy. It is no secret that the Elites want to reduce world population by Billions of people and to do so is to reverse the Green Revolution of the 1970s(increased food production) and to ration energy to the point that Billions will die.

  12. The ‘graph at the top of this is wrong. She is not a civil servant. Those are the paid employees of the government of Canada to carry out government administration. She is an elected Member of Parliament elected to represent the views of her constituents, whomever they may be. And she will remain in Parliament as long as the boneheads in Ottawa Centre continue to elect her. She is NOT there to represent the interests of ALL Canadians, only those of her party and those who elected her.

This is why elections are important: to get rid of people who become utterly intolerable such as McKenna.

    1. elected officials are there to serve all people of the country. Kriste, you put up a good post, and then sh*t like this

  13. Politicians suffer from a pathological urge to control how others live their lives. The best politicians are those that reign in such urges, limiting coercive growth of the state to very few and legitimate functions. AS cgh says, Climate Barbie is a zealot and as such, someone with no such conscience when it comes to forcing the commoners to live as she sees fit because of her faith in the popular narrative. Besides, “climate change” is in the very name of the ridiculous ministry of silly walks that she presides over and how else to you “do your job” but by feigning omniscience. It is quite fitting that her background is in political science rather than actual science. The greatest atrocities in history have come about by such true believers in their causes.

  14. She is not convincing anyone and she knows it! Wonder what kind of meds she takes, no spark in those dead eyes.

  15. The real question for these corrupt fools… What does the Tooth fairy pay in taxation,,,and how does the government collect those taxes…. An estimated amount (nonsense) could calculate the tax the Tooth Fairy owes and make everyone pay that Tax…

When you have a mythical problem, the results are mythical ..,, AGW is a fraud that has been pushed by the MSM & the education system… Yes everyone thinks (THINKS) AGW (climate change) is a problem (they have been told), but nobody can measure results… B.S estimations fit the loony tune theme… We can count Coal cars or Cabbage consumption and hope there is some relation, but nobody can scientifically measure it… It is not a scientific theory..it is a fraud.. Real theory is falsifiable and that is not possible when the leaders refuse to debate.. or provide absolute measurable proof…

Yes! she has no time for Science debate because she has no answers.. a total believer

AGW and the mentally deficient media Journalists are scary bastards.. Stuck on Stupid is a real problem

  16. She is using the same con ontario liberals used, this will create billions of dollars in job growth.
Yup all those windmills in ontario inproved the economy, for the states in the USA where business went when they
Could no longer compete or make a profit in ontario with high electric cost, increasing fuel cost for transportation.

  17. Re: Green movement: I really like what kids say, they’re so natural and honest, without prompting or even an extensive conversation, one day the grand kid piped up and said, ” that’s bullshit”!

  18. I am pretty sure Climate Barbie went into political science because she was not too good at real science. Climate Science is astrophysics, which is a combination of chemistry, thermodynamics, physics, meteorology, just to name a few. You have to know the basics in many of these in order to understand the science behind the proponents and the opponents of AGW.
But even a high school drop out can understand when data has been fiddled with that something is wrong.
I know weather is not climate, but it was -38 degrees at Key Lake Saskatchewan this morning! I still have three feet of snow in my yard on April 2. Last year was +10. It is cyclical, and no reason to go crying that the sky is falling.

    1. Agreed that it would be nice if climate science included all of those fields, but I have little evidence to support that assertion. It looks now like mastery of theory in one of the fields, combined with the ability to trust unvalidated models, is all that is required. I’m in mining. If the geologic models I base my work on performed that badly, and I continued to use them and tried to bring the resulting mine-plan to the stock market, both the geologist and I would lose our credentials/profession certification and risk jail time for fraud.

    2. She doesn’t have any background in science at all! She studied international relations, economics and law – none of which qualify her for the ministry she now leads. Face it, the only reason JT made her a cabinet minister and appointed her to this portfolio is because she is a woman.

  19. I live in her riding. I emailed her and asked how – after spending thousands on new windows and a new high efficiency furnace for my house – a carbon tax was going to reduce my “footprint” further. The response was a steamy mess of insults. I also asked when the quotas were coming … be prepared people.

    1. Remember the last time the Liberals were in and they had the One Tonne Challenge? I took their assessment and it told me I should buy new appliances and a new car. What nonsense. I live in a high-rise and take the bus to work. My yearly emissions are probably less than one week of Sock Boy’s idling limo.

  20. For some reason this classic tune … and lyrics … popped into my head …

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OjiNROf_U4Y

    “Life’s A Gas”

I could have loved you girl
    Like a planet
I could have chained your heart
    To a star
But it really doesn’t matter at all
No it really doesn’t matter at all
    Life’s a gas,
    I hope it’s gonna last

I could have built a house
    On the ocean
I could have placed your love
    In the sky
    I could have turned you
    Into a priestess
    I could have burned
    Your fate in the sand

Your HIGH Priestess has burned your fate in the tar sands … for her … Life’s a gas … YOUR gas

  21. It would be helpful if MacKenna knew something about the subject. She has called herself minister in charge of the weather. She has also told us many times she has three kids, assume she’s telling us she’s out to save the climate for future generations?
Arrogance mixed with lack of real knowledge is what we have with this minister. In politics it’s never a good plan to talk down to people or state you have no time for those whose views differ from yours. It’s a democracy not a dictatorship.
I’ve had enough of her “like, you know” jargon, I just shut her off.

  22. The numb nuts who have a 90% chance of error in predicting whether it will rain on the weekend are predicting 1/10 degree changes over 100 years. There are a million variable to climate and CO2 is probably one of the less significant if it is a factor at all.
