I’m registered with a pollster as interested in talking about political topics. I was recently invited to a focus group “for those planning to vote for the provincial NDP, Alberta Party, or Liberal Party”. Unfortunately I had a conflict and couldn’t attend. I don’t know how long I could keep quiet about the pap that would have been presented as current issues and solutions.
There have been a lot of phone polls about/from the NDP party of Alberta though. The most recent one (last week) asked me to identify what I thought was the key issue for the next election. When I responded the economy, the next question was “and which of these spending initiatives put forth by the NDP will best help the economy?” She didn’t quite hang up on me, but did interrupt me about 30 seconds into my response about how government spending hurts the economy instead of helping, and that moving water from the deep end of the pool to the shallow end using a leaking bucket just ensured that there was a smaller pool of money in the economy.
It was a propaganda call disguising itself as a poll, and as it’s nominally a poll by the government it probably isn’t listed as election spending. Those lying, cheating, bastards.
If and when he apologizes, will he turn on the waterworks, thereby making life preservers required apparel?
That tactic worked so well for his hero O’Bummer, didn’t it?

iCloud Mail was written up in Macworld 2013 for the same practice.
I am now CCing myself to check if mails are getting out, and to discover the rules.
