Diversity is our strength! Montreal protesters unrepentant after wearing yellow badges to protest school buses for Hasidic Jews
A Montreal woman who sparked outrage after she and other citizens wore yellow badges on their clothing at a borough council meeting to protest the Jewish community’s use of school buses in her neighbourhood says she’s the real victim.
Despite being told by residents the yellow square on her shirt evoked the Holocaust — when European Jews were forced to wear yellow stars under the Nazi regime — Ginette Chartre said in an interview Tuesday she wouldn’t stop wearing it.
“(The Jews) always bring up their painful past,” she said. “They do it to muzzle us. We’re wearing the yellow square because the school buses are yellow.

So, the government is giving $860,000 to the UN Global Compact Network to assess Canadian companies on treatment of women (policies re harassment, family balance, women on boards, etc. My question is, is this a priority for Canadians? Will they even make use of the study results when they are available? Personally, I doubt it. This is another UN priority and Canada is the test bed. Since the budget has just been announced, you know that the UN agency has been busy plotting this for some time. Are there not places in the world where women’s rights are at real risk? Outlandish as it sounds, perhaps the UN should be focussing its attentions on Africa, Iran, etc. if their intention is to improve the lot of women. The Iranian Monsef will be signing off on this questionable handout to the UN.

Those who see Trump as threatening a free market in steel should see the world as it really is and welcome, rather than berate Trump’s initiative
President Trump’s decision to apply steep tariffs to steel imports on grounds of national security met with a loud chorus of protests at home and abroad, by many trying to divine what could possibly be going through Trump’s mind. Growing the economy from the heart outwards https://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/economy/canadian-economy-adds-15400-jobs-in-february-unemployment-rate-dips/article38258247/
The economy added 15,400 net new jobs last month and the unemployment rate edged down to 5.8 per cent – but the gains were due to a surge in part-time work that offset a heavy decline in full-time positions.
Statistics Canada’s latest labour force survey, released Friday, also found that the job gains in February were driven by an increase of 50,300 in public-sector jobs.
The country lost 39,300 full-time jobs and generated 54,700 part-time positions last month, the report said.
“Montreal protesters unrepentant after wearing yellow badges to protest school buses for Hasidic Jews”
To be fair, looking at the offending badges, I believe the protesters: it looks like they just used small yellow “3M Post-It” notes. Frankly, I sense they were too boneheaded to realize that the badges might be misinterpreted, given the circumstances.
They could have printed a batch of badges pretty easily with somebody’s home computer, something like a red line through a school bus using Google images. But no.

“Summary of Wind Turbine Accident data to 31 December 2017”
“The attached detailed table includes all documented cases of wind turbine related accidents and incidents which could be found and confirmed through press reports or official information releases up to 31 December 2017. CWIF believe that this compendium of accident information may be the most comprehensive available anywhere.
Data in the detailed table attached is by no means fully comprehensive –
CWIF believe that what is attached may only be the “tip of the iceberg” in terms of numbers of accidents and their frequency. Indeed on 11 December 2011 the Daily Telegraph reported that RenewableUK confirmed that there had been 1500 wind turbine accidents and incidents in the UK alone in the previous 5 years.
Data here reports only 142 UK accidents from 2006-2010 and so the figures here may only represent 9% of actual accidents.
The data does however give an excellent cross-section of the types of accidents which can and do occur, and their consequences. With few exceptions, before about 1997 only data on fatal accidents has been found.
The trend is as expected – as more turbines are built, more accidents occur. Numbers of recorded accidents reflect this, with an average of 33 accidents per year from 1998-2002 inclusive; 81 accidents per year from 2003-2007 inclusive; 144 accidents per year from 2008-12 inclusive, and 167 accidents per year from 2013-17 inclusive.” http://www.caithnesswindfarms.co.uk/AccidentStatistics.htm

What bothers me on this one is the UN butting into Canadian affairs again. There are major problems with male-female equality around the world. That is not the case in Canada, even with their marginal statistic reflecting men getting paid more. This is the government attempting to social engineer the private sector workplace. It is bound to create a lot of make-work for a problem that does not exist in a meaningful way. This is not a priority for Canadians. It is more Liberal identity politics in compliance with UN priorities. We are being governed by the UN with its globalist agenda. Canadians need to realize that. I really resent money being spent on this. It is not a priority for Canadians. Even we have more serious issues to be addressed. This initiative will simply create more divisiveness while Liberals attempt to buy women’s votes.
