  1. Oh, my, does that song take me back! It was popular while I was finishing high school 45 years ago. A bit later, I was a university freshman at a junior college. Someone in the residence I lived in had it on his turntable lots of times.
    I guess I’m getting old…..

  2. He’s like his father, taking the opposite approach to whatever sensible things the Americans are doing. If Trump says “black”, Prince Pixie Dust will say “white”.
After all, we have to chart our own course as a (post-national) country, don’t we? Well that sure helped us during the last 50 years, hasn’t it?
Meanwhile, his vision for Canada is to be owned by China, governed by sharia, and mired in energy poverty.

  3. As some may recall, I am a serious vinyl aficionado. Well, my wife and I each came to the marriage with our own high school + college record collections (some too beat up to play on my quality rig). Of course our kids are curious, and generally enthusiastic about my old Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd lp’s. But when they pull out my wife’s “Best of Bread” … the laughing and mockery ensues. To this day … “Best of Bread” … is our inside family joke … representative of anything schmaltzy and well … olllllld. And for the record (pun intended) I can still appreciate David Gates voice and songwriting talent … and his songs were very reliable make out music … the sonic version of watching a chick flick with your girlfriend.

  4. his songs were very reliable make out music
I’ll have to agree with you on that point. Aside from the radio, the only other setting I’ve ever heard them was in whatever pizza joint my undergrad buddies and I would haunt on Friday and Saturday nights.
Nobody would ever dare play that sort of music at a keg party!

  5. Being the first to pen the word, don’t steal it kate. Okay go ahead but don’t tell Lance. But when Finland exits the EU, it will be known as the FIXIT.

  6. Anyone believe the MeToo movement will accomplish whatever it is they’re trying to accomplish….besides making accusations, some anonymous, to take down men even many years after the alleged incidents?

  7. Papa Pierre was not a friend of the US, he was enamoured with Castro and his Commie Island of Cuba
It’s probably safe to say his son is on the same track. “Uncle Fidel” was a close family friend.
Sonny Boy has said he admires China’s regime, their ability to turn the economy around on a dime.
We should have no problems he also believes budgets balance themselves.

  8. Of possible interest to Ken (Kulak).

  9. I’m not sure what it is they are trying to accomplish or what goal could be attainable.
I see some very big A**holes getting what they’ve deserved, who should have been outed at point of incident, but for “personal and professional” reasons were not (read as “price of my career”). Plus some that were just not seen as worth the effort at the time.
I do have a problem with the very wide ranging description of sexual assault today, but I don’t have a definitive limit as to where to draw the line myself. Are wolf whistles and ignorant pick up lines sexual assault? Is being made to feel uncomfortable assault? No and No in my view. Sticks and Stones etc. Physical and continuous emotional cruelty are assault. I’m not sure where the line gets crossed, will decide when I see it, I guess.
Is there an actual goal to take out any guy that gets in the way of the NWO? Is there a plan or a final state to be reached?
I’ve worked in companies where the sexual atmosphere got pretty intense between some, are these events going to come back to haunt someone? Should they? Some unrequited love being the tool of revenge down the road?
Is being a “machine male” (look it up, pretty interesting) being a toxic male?
Is taking down the driving male the same as raising the less driven person (she/he/it/they whatever)?
I’m fortunate to be retired and working the contracts that I want, I don’t think I would want to be slaved to this society by need to work. I respect all people, but I’ve learned contempt for some.
I’m male, white, older, educated, English, healthy (mostly), successful and driven.
    And I’m a walking target.

  10. Just what this country needs: a next-generation Mulroney in politics. If that happens, it’ll only confirm that Canadian voters have short memories and are slow learners. Have they learned nothing from the Trudeaus?

  12. Sock Boy still in admiration of China’s basic dictatorship. McCallum still drinking too much.
Trudeau defends ambassador under fire for China trade comments
“In some important policy areas such as the environment, global warming, free trade, globalization, the policies of the government of Canada are closer to the policies of the government of China than they are to U.S. policies,” Mr. McCallum said Sunday during a visit by Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard.

  13. Thanks for the post.
As a communist hating Russia phile I’m glad I’m now aware of Ossandowski.

  14. … and the very first thing Finland will need to FIX … is their border with Sweden. For the first time in recorded history … the Finns need to FEAR the Swedish people. Build the WALL!
Oh … and erect defensive battlements along their western coastline. Gotta keep the “New” Sweden from invading and squatting in Finland.

  15. I think the the Finns will be just fine with the new Swedes. They’ve lived with the ruskies on their eastern border forever and fought a tough winter war with them.
Finns arn’t ‘chicken Swedes’ when it comes to being tough. The new Swedes might get more than they bargained for if they cross the border.

  16. Wiki missed Waddy’s appearance in the studio band in the movie Honeysuckle Rose, renamed On the Road Again.

  17. She looks like she could be a good MPP, but to make her the leader at this point is a slap in the face to those who have spent years working as caucus members. There is also something exceptionally weird about these family dynasties. Now I suspect that Caroline is not nearly as dumb as Trudeau, but still, it would be good to get a sense of who she is before appointing her leader.

“The mercury fell to 2.6 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Panchagarh on January 8, the lowest temperature ever recorded in the country’s history, beating the country’s previous the record low of 2.8 degrees Celsius set in Srimangal in Moulvibazar in 1968.” (iceagenow)

  19. Maz2- Good link. Here in Red Deer, we’ve spent a lot of money on bike lanes that are totally unused. In the first year, my daily commute along over a mile of our pricey bike lanes saw me witness less than a dozen users. Full blown dumb.
Today’s Conrad Black piece in the Nat. Post is worthy of a post under the heading of “When a Democrat Says It, It’s Not Profane”, or something along those lines. Can’t post links with this device, however.

  20. That Vince Gill list … and commentary is SUPERB. I just saw an aged Joe Walsh about 18 mos ago … and the man is simply amazing on guitar. And kudos for including the Beatles. Harrison is sorely undervalued as an innovative guitarist … yeah “hooky” guitar riffs … which is EVERYTHING in rock music. And nice honorable mention to “average” player John Fogerty … who simply created memorable hooks. And the Steely Dan Dean Parks … right on.
Alvin Lee and 10 Years After is on my list of “rediscovery” … a huge talent.
Who knew that Country music stars would be so well versed in rock guitar … or not.

  21. Not so fast. You do understand what happened AFTER the initial tariff, do you not? Does everything have to be explained to you?
    Clearly………

  22. Edmonton isn’t much better. I’m a cyclist and I would much rather have dedicated lanes or paths. However, they should be located where they make sense and are useful.
One example of our city council’s brilliance on the matter when it mandated that bike lanes be put in along 106th Street in my end of town. Drivers didn’t like them and going along them myself, I found their layout baffling and, frankly, inconvenient.
Guess what was removed after a year?
Meanwhile, the fare for Edmonton Transit bus service from Century Park in the south end to the airport will be doubling at the beginning of next month…..

Zytner said the medications that are used to treat hookworms are not licensed for sale in this country: Health Canada has put ivermectin and albendazole on its Special Access Programme…
Zytner said his request for the drugs was denied. “They said our case wasn’t severe enough to get the medication.”
“They have the exact same thing,” Zytner said. “And they were also denied by Health Canada for access to the drugs.”

  25. Have you seen “Live From Daryl’s House”? ( on line and on you tube)
Theŕe are hundreds of songs with various artists both young and older…it’s Daryl Hall in his upstate N.Y. acreage with people who are invited to dine and have an all day jam session.
Some favourites are with: (of course) John Oates, Smokey Robinson, Cèe Lo Green, Todd Rundgren, Sharon Jones, the ojays,Train, Rumer, Aaron Neville, Jose Feliciano, Jimmy Wayne, Chròmeò Tenderoni and many others.
It is awesomeness, perfection, and exquisite musicianship.
