Far, far below normal. “These are temperatures we normally see in January,” says meteorologist.” (iceagebob)

Arctic air is headed for Ontario and this will bring temperatures more typical of January from Thursday night through Saturday morning.”

  2. PM Harper was absent in 2012. He had an Asia trip (India Nov 3 – 9, followed by the Philippines and Hong Kong). However, he was in Hong Kong on Remembrance Day and attended the ceremony at Sai Wan War Cemetery, honouring the 1975 Canadian soldiers who fought to defend Hong Kong in December, 1941.

  3. When is the last time a sitting PM has missed Remembrance Day on parliament hill?
Why should we be surprised. He, like his father, despises this country. Besides, since we are now “post-national” and don’t have any “core identity”, why should he observe traditions such as Remembrance Day services?

  4. still not convinced anybody?
    try this:
    http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/liberals-urged-to-recognize-mp-war-vet/ar-BBEKS8l?ocid=ientp
Lieberals utterly detest our armed forces personnel. it would seem many canadians do also since they keep putting these effetes in power over and over again.
it would help if the conservatists didn’t pick control freak bullies like harper as an alternative. google what he did when the Afghan mission casualties came home. you know, when the caskets were trundled over the tarmac. REFUSED the media to attend. actions of a control freak bully.
    http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/harper-on-defensive-over-media-ban-on-return-of-dead-soldiers-1.598979
from the link: “Family members criticize government
At least one bereaved military family believes the government has made a mistake.
It should be up to the families to decide whether they want reporters present at such ceremonies, said Richard Leger, whose son Marc was killed in Afghanistan four years ago.
“I know, in 2002, it was a great thing for us to have the media there… We wanted to show all Canadians what the cost of their liberty is,” he told CBC Newsworld.
“People saying, ‘Thank you for the life of Marc’ as a parent that’s hard to hear, but knowing what’s the reason behind it helps us to move on.”
Maureen Burrowes, who is a cousin of Payne, said the government is depriving her of her chance to be part of Tuesday night’s ceremony.
“I honestly believed I would see my cousin’s return on CBC as I could not be present today,” she wrote in an e-mail. “I really feel that our current government has made a very bad decision and voters will remember this in the next election.”
“The timing is absolutely horrendous and I would love to know how to get this reversed.”

actions of a control ‘we know better’ freak. that is after all, why harper lost. the election was a harper loss, NOT a turdeux win.
I got a response from the local lieberal mp regarding the 103 thing about ‘islamophobia’. interesting, THAT is the ONLY religion mentioned. isnt THAT a form of discrimination? yes. entirely fitting and right at home in the lieberal mindset.

  5. Winnipeg Mayor confirms he only wants to hold office for one term:
    http://winnipegsun.com/news/local-news/eskimos-should-change-name-bowman#comments
Messing with the loyalties of CFL fans will not get you votes.
Before he left Winnipeg for Vancouver to be the house squish for Global/Corus, Charles Adler pimped Bowman to be a great Conservative choice for Winnipeg’s Mayor. Bowman has turned out to be anything but that. Bowman has jumped on the gravy train of the constantly aggrieved, and is hell bent on opening Portage and Main again to pedestrians, as his lasting legacy.
I can only believe Bowman is doing this, as a stepping stone to a roll in a higher level of government. But where? The Manitoba and NDP and Liberals each recently elected new leaders. Is he thinking Brian Pallister will step down as the PC leader, a one term Premier, when he gets voted out for bringing in a carbon tax? Or is he priming himself for a ride with the Shiny Pony Federally?

“FAIL: Antarctic research station wind turbine crashes, diesel to the rescue
From the ABC Australia, video follows. Proof of something we’ve always said: You need a fossil fueled backup generator for any “green”wind/solar power project.
Mawson Antarctic research station relying solely on diesel after wind turbine crashes to ground
    By Harriet Aird
An Australian Antarctic research station is now relying solely on diesel power generation after a wind turbine collapsed overnight.
Expeditioners at Mawson station discovered the head of the 30-metre Enercon E30 turbine had fallen to the ground about 9:00pm on Tuesday.”

  7. Not having bongo on the Hill November 11 isn’t a bad thing. His revulsion of all things military is well understood by the forces.
His stand in face slapper will be shameus

  8. Remembrance Day is particularly challenging for Trudeau as it represents “traditional Canada” — our core values as Canadians before we found ourselves coping with “diversity” run amok. Actually, I am not sneering at immigrants, but most legal immigrants who choose to come to Canada also have an affection for our traditional values. Canadian history (before all the apologies) speaks to all Canadians and highlights important milestones that define our country — Remembrance Day is a very good example. It is only since Trudeau that our traditions and historical memory are being suppressed in favour of Trudeau’s “post national” whatever.

  9. It is only since Trudeau that our traditions and historical memory are being suppressed in favour of Trudeau’s “post national” whatever.
That suppression began with PET. He made sure that federal government departments had any reference to the Crown expunged from their names. That’s how we ended up with, for example, Statistics Canada which used to be the Dominion Bureau of Statistics.
Wee Juthtin wants to ensure that Daddy’s universe is “unfolding as it should”.

  10. “it would help if the conservatists didn’t pick control freak bullies like harper as an alternative.” Help how? Harper was re-elected three times. The “control freak” is a leftist talking point BUT, for sure Harper ran the country. He was thoughtful and focused and did not suffer fools gladly. If he came across as a “control freak” to the media, it was more that he chose not to waste time on schmoozing and glad handing — quite unlike the current silly poseur. Not allowing the media to attend bodies returning is taking a moral position where he chooses not to have the deaths become a spectacle. You don’t have to like his decisions, but calling him a bully for making a decision and standing by it is silly. Personally, I miss Harper.

  11. You are not the only one, Linda. As far as Harper and the returning ceremony, Harper was a very low key guy and unfortunately his preference for a quiet returning ceremony did not sit well with a lot of people. That is water under the bridge now, he tried quiet decorum and was castigated for it as he was for everything that he did. Now we have a pop-in-jay that can’t polish his own boots never mind the boots of the likes of Harper. Many rue the day that Trudeau was elected and that number is growing.

  12. I swear to GOD that I am becoming my grandfather more and more everyday when I read this astoundingly absurd nonsense and declare … “the world is going straight into the crapper” … First … crazy whimmen are eating their placentas in the moonlight … and now they are sopping-up the goodness of placental blood with vag-leavened bread … I honestly want to HURL
