Community ‘role model’ sentenced for killing friend while impaired:
“One of the positive things that the Aboriginal community contributes to the justice system is a sense of forgiveness, which I don’t see taking place nearly as readily as we see in the First Nations community,” Pfefferle remarked.
That’s one way of looking at it.

There is no protection for Indians living on reserves. The racist justice system refuses to give appropriate sentences to discourage violent Indians from preying on their neighbors. I am not sure why the justice system denies Indians basic protection given to white people.
I believe the treaties, and the First Nations Elders’ own (frequent and vociferous) demands that we ‘go away and let them run their own lives’, have something to do with it…
So here in the north west of Sask it is not uncommon to being to robbed and that’s on multiple occasions . This is happening both on and of reserve . I must point out it is not limited to First Nation crimminals. ( three women killed when hit by stolen truck for example ) . The most recent is an alleged criminal killed in a shoot out in North Battleford. They were shooting at another vehicle, rammed a police car , and ended up dead in a shootout. Of course we are now hearing about what a nice funny guy he was and how it was so unnecessary to kill him . Meanwhile he apparently has a long history of interactions with police and the justice system . If these are the “nice” guys ,I am wondering what is considered bad . There is no solution in site and certainly little concern from people who are the gatekeepers. I’m sure if we just keep apologizing and forking over more money it will get better . And after all it’s just your stuff and they haven’t shot you yet .
I was going to make a point here but….. there isn’t anything to say that hasn’t been said before, and nothing is going to change!
So, if i read that correctly, the accused was driving while impaired, was in possession of a prohibited firearm (sawed off), had a loaded firearm in vehicle, used a firearm in the commission of a crime and committed murder. 8 years. wow.

Please… no more of this “thousands of years” of “oral history” bullshit…
Christopher Pauchay couldn’t even remember where he left his kids.

It’s the same racist policies the Progressive Liberals use as weapons against the Blacks in “inner cities”. They enslave them using their own unwitting peoples to control each other with fear and violence, along with plenty of drugs & alcohol literally “keeping them on the reservation” or ghetto.
Aboriginal or Black people the source of your life’s problems are Liberal Progressives.
When conservatives speak against the systematic abuse they are demonized as the racists, again by the “Liberal” establishment protecting its abuses and enslavement of peoples for it’s own wealth & power.

at the risk of being accused of overkill…
THOUSANDS OF YEARS??? The First Nations have no written history.
They’d have trouble proving what the place was called a couple of
hundred years ago, let alone thousands.
Anyone who tosses off ridiculous and unsupportable claims like this has
no claim to be taken seriously.
He should also return his STOLEN SCOTTISH NAME.

“driving while impaired, was in possession of a prohibited firearm (sawed off), had a loaded firearm in vehicle, used a firearm in the commission of a crime and committed murder. 8 years. wow.”
Considering he could have gotten 10 years on each of the firearms charges.
Will Trudeau prove his Liberal bias by not paying this “poor little disenfranchised youth” 10 million dollars like he awarded Omar for murdering US soldiers?
Of course tumbleweed here only killed another potential liberal voter, no reward there from JT.
What’s most important is that we continue to maintain taxpayer funded racial ghettos where no employment exists, telling ourselves that it’s what they want as repeatedly enunciated by their guilt-pimping leaders (looters?). The “progressive nightmare” and unending source of guilt-money windfall and white prostration known as the Residential School system as flawed as it was was actually the last serious attempt at changing the “system”. That Canada is one of the last nations on the planet with an apartheid system that is actually growing and strengthening rather than disappearing is no doubt a source of progressive pride. Led by the Supreme Court of Canada, we are moving to a reverse apartheid where the 3% with or greater than 1/16 racial purity are given the expectation that they own and or control the entire nation and those who fail the racial windfall have to ask permission to exist (“more than mere consultation” – SCOC). Meanwhile in the real world, life on the reserve is as described in the article.
Nailed it John. Too many “Indian Industry” parasites would starve if the status quo would ever change for the better.
Well said. But, like Antenor said, nothing will change.

matt, relax… it’s “nothing a little ‘sweat lodge’ won’t fix“

You can show mercy towards criminals, or you can show mercy towards victims and their friends and family.
You can’t do both.
There is simply nowhere to go with Native issues. Period. Neither governments at any level nor Natives are prepared to really sit down and talk honestly about the problems.
Long after our Dear Leader has drifted off to some swank UN sinecure or the like, reserves will still be dumps, indigenous women will still go missing, and young Natives will still be committing suicide at alarming rates.
KM … It’s sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of life for all Canadians to see. No signed paper can hold your words of life, they must come from men. The words of KM carry the same iron of life and death.
“One of the positive things that the Aboriginal community contributes to the justice system is a sense of forgiveness, which I don’t see taking place nearly as readily as we see in the First Nations community,” Pfefferle remarked.
Huh ?! And that makes one wonder what will happen when “the Muslim Community contributes to the justice system”. What “sensibilities” do you believe do you suppose Sharia Law will contribute? Trust me … it won’t be quite as “forgiving” as the First Nations.
Seems as though the ‘white’ Europeans need to grow a set of stones … or be forever tossed back into the 6th Century.
Islam will one day take care of Canada’s “aboriginal issues”!
…he could have gotten 10 years on each of the firearms charges…
– “First Nations” – Canada’s gun control laws don’t apply to them.
“…Considering he could have gotten 10 years on each of the firearms charges.”
I think that’s only applicable to people who have a firearms license. Repeat customers get volume discounts, they are the ones keeping the “justice” system in business.
You grow up on a reserve with no role models, poverty for whatever reason, and a whole crew of people promising all sorts of BS because you are discriminated against. All these so called advisors whether native or white make +$100K a year.
The only CBC radio I listen to is Randy Bachman on Saturday night. Tune in any other time and it is none stop native affairs. 95% is about how the white man has screwed the native population.
Back in the ’50’s my father and other farmers helped a native farmer get a crop in and harvested on reserve land. As soon as the crop was off the Band stepped in and took all the money and gave the native farmer a proportional share of the proceeds. Needless to say he did not plant another crop.

“jjm says… prepared to really sit down and talk honestly about the problems.”
“When thinking of pre-Columbian America, forget what you’ve seen in the Disney
movies. Think ‘slavery, cannibalism and mass human sacrifice.’ From the
Aztecs to the Iroquois, that was life among the indigenous peoples before
Columbus arrived.”
not that much has changed culturally… most reserves sound less like intentional
communities than off-broadway productions of ‘grand theft auto’.

well at least he didn’t steal a buffalo and use a bow and arrow!!
