  3. Many years ago, I attended a function held by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. A number of companies and government agencies had put on displays and I sat in on a presentation by Silicon Graphics.
    The company was demonstrating its latest product and used a computer animation of an F-14 flight around San Francisco to show its capabilities.
    Part of that animation had the plane flying below the Golden Gate Bridge. When we saw that, the chap sitting next to me and I both had the same thought when we saw that: instant court martial.

    Under,I’ll believe it when I see it. The gist of the article is that it wasn’t any Liberal Prime Minister’s fault that the S.S.St.Louis was turned away from Canada,but the fault of immigration Minister Frederic Blair,and of course,Canadians all know that a PM cannot override his cabinet Minister.
    Nope,Our Mac was as much a victim as the passengers on that ship! Damn right. You betcha. Good old Mac. Greatest PM in Canadian history, according to a vote by the Liberal Party of Canada a few years ago,and who would know better than them?
    This must be an effort to placate pissed off Jews,if there are any who were upset by Fred and Mac’s anti-semitic decision.

  14. Why not? His father was responsible for inflicting mandatory Canadian content rules on radio station playlists as well as TV schedules.
    One result was a lot of dreadful cover versions of songs that were recorded, and often popular, elsewhere. Fortunately, radio waves aren’t affected by legislation and I could often hear the original recordings on American stations or by shortwave, given suitable locations or propagation conditions.
