  1. If your polls don’t show what you want them to show, you just have to fire your pollster and get one that knows how to do it.

  2. Gerry Ritz has apologised to Liberal MP Catherine McKenna for having used the term ”Climate Barbie” in a tweet.

McKenna’s Liberal buddies on the other hand are using Mr. Ritz’s comment to further enhance hatred against the Conservative Party of Canada. She made a comment on TV today stating that most of the ”Barbie” slurs she gets are from ”Conservatives.” Could we please the see the comments, Mme. McKenna? And how do you know they are ”mostly Conservatives.”
I was taught in school that Canada made special concessions to Members of Parliament whereby MPs insulting one another during a session, or while campaigning etc. were immune from prosecution or lawsuits. Why is Barbie above the law??
At $255,000 a year plus allowances, that means that every hour Mme McKenna wastes on the Barbie issue costs the gov. about $200.00. (MPs only work 10 months a year.) If indeed you can call going on TV and whining about the state of your job ” work.”

  3. Yes & they are all contractors, too. Small business type, just the ones Sock Boy uses as a punching bag on this burning issue of the day.

  4. Of course he is polling well in Quebec and likley Ontario as well . Do you see all the infrastructure investments in Saskatchewan ? I haven’t found them . Take a tour through the two provinces where he is popular and you will spend a lot of time In construction zones . He may not be that bright , but he totally understands who butters his bread .

  5. he totally understands who butters his bread .
He’s just like his father. PET didn’t care about representing the people of Canada. He was interested only in being elected and remaining in office. Pierre figured out that in order to accomplish that, give southern Ontario and southern Quebec whatever they wanted and they would reward him with votes.
I remember my frustration after casting my ballot in 1980 when I was a grad student at UBC. By the time the polls closed in the Vancouver area, PET had already won the election. I’m sure that situation pleased him greatly.

oh, wab… you shameless publicity whore…
“The words used at a sun dance are often in the native language and are not translated for outsiders. Not talking about this ceremony is part of the respect the people display for it. In addition, the detailed way in which a respected elder speaks, teaches, and explains a sun dance to younger members of the tribe is unique and not easily quoted, nor is it intended for publication.”
i guess it’s different if it keeps you out of jail, huh?

  7. Just change the questions,as in that classic Sir Humphrey moment from “Yes Minister”.
Last week, every pollster in Canada, even Campaign Research, which is run by two Conservatives, showed Trudeau ahead by 11 or 12 points.
Nano,Angus Reid, Ipsos,Decima, Compas,Ekos, all showed Trudeau with a comfortable lead.

You can write off the others as Liberal biased, but it would be wrong to do the same with Campaign, and their similar results.

“Sun dance is a sw ceremony. It was never practiced in Canada.”
unless you need a “get out of jail free” card, apparently.

  9. So the CBC is just parroting PM Socks’ line “And their support among the wealthiest Canadians β€” those likely to be impacted most by the changes β€” appears to have held steady over the summer.”
Kind of missing the point about what this tax reform actually entails. They define wealthy as those making over $100k, or in other words those on salary from corporations or the civil service. This is not those who will be affected by the tax unless they are doctors.

  10. β€œShe made a comment on TV today stating that most of the ”Barbie” slurs she gets are from ”Conservatives.” ”.
Perhaps this is because Conservatives have a sense of humour and she does not! A poster at the Globe actually referenced a comment made about Jason Kenny a few years ago. He was called a Ken doll (I am not sure why.) He took it as a compliment.
What is unfortunate here is that not just the Ministers time, but that of the general public who may watch these interviews wanting to know more about actual policies and events — instead, they get treated to this whininess.

  11. Like all Liberals, McKenna et al will jump on anything they think will smear Conservatives. This is not the first ime someone called her “Climate Barbie”…..I’m sure I heard it before Ritz made it.
I do not think she is up to the job anyway. She’s been touted as one of the big brains in the LPC which I’ve seen little evidence of to this point.

  12. Hi Don
Because they couldn’t get elected as liberal, many progressives joined the Progressive Conservatives. This had the effect of moving the party from ‘conservative’ to ‘Progressive’ giving us Red Ed and REDford and Prentice. As a reaction to this leftward movement the Wildrose was implemented. Now as another reaction to the NDP election the conservatives are combining with the result that many liberal/progressives are finding the party they were taking over has now moved away from them. One of the PC leadership candidates even joined the NDP as a last act in their political career. Next election they will be gone or join the liberals in insignificance. Call it a self cleaning house.

  13. Hi Don
In the past liberals couldn’t get elected as Liberals so they joined the Progressive Conservatives moving that party to PROGRESSIVE conservatives to PROGRESSIVE c-something under Redford. That was why the Wildrose came into being. As a reaction to the NDP election the conservatives are once again coming together leaving the PROGRESSIVEs no party of their own. Several are sitting as independents and one leadership candidate showed her conservative values by joining the NDP thus ending her political career. Call it self garbage removal.
