  1. CTV is reporting critical staff shortages in the rcmp. No surprise really as the force has had trouble attracting recruits for decades. Now it’s reached critical mass.
When CTV contacted Ralph Goodale the minister in charge of the rcmp he refused to call them back. Guess he’s too busy to be bothered with national security.

  2. Maybe some Syrian refugees would like to be cops. I wouldn’t be surprised at at if Nice Hair came up with that idea. If I recall correctly you no longer are required to be a Canadian citizen to be accepted in the RCMP.

  3. Re: Syrian Refugees as cops.
I would much prefer Texas Rangers who have worked the Tex-Mex border.
Seriously. This has turned into an all out joke.
We’ll soon be the laughing stock of the world. The whole Trudeau thing is being acted out in defiance of common sense, and of course, Canadian law.. It’s making a mockery out of all of us who have ancestors who had to work hard to arrive here and become citizens. The price we pay for people who go to the polls with a chip on their shoulder.

  4. There was a controversial police shooting in Minneapolis a few days ago. The officer was a former refugee from Somalia and the victim was a caucasian woman from Australia.
The controversy arose from the shooting being apparently unprovoked and the officer in question had a less-than-stellar record. Some people have suggested that he was an affirmative-action hire and may have been fast-tracked through the recruiting process.
Imagine what might happen here in Canada…..

  5. Daddy Trudeau wasn’t any better. He allowed into this country anybody who showed up at the border with a sob story.
People like my parents and I properly went through the system and we eventually became citizens. However, whenever I voiced my misgivings about allowing “refugees” to circumvent the process, I was branded a bigot. As far as I was concerned, they were welcome in this country. What I wanted, though, was that those people follow the same procedure as we did.
Those who didn’t like my views would often ask where I came from. When I mentioned that I was born in Berlin, guess what they automatically called me?

  6. Too late. I tried it at home.
The hot-air balloon had a bit of trouble fitting in my basement. When I turned on the flame, the balloon just kept on expanding and expanding, filling up the entire basement.
I never did get to jump off it with my jet pack.

  7. HWNDU
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTAGWhi87jU
This time it was a flag against a wall of white drywall, indoors, on the second floor of a private residence, in London.
Despite Shia trying to rig the game, it was somehow found in a record time of five and a half hours.
The only remaining question is how long until 4chan messes with it and how. Apparently they are already discussing things like projectors shining images through the window onto the flag.

  8. C’mon there Mr. Mayor and Council! Walk the walk!
Open up your homes like you opened up your hearts, when you declared Montreal a sanctuary city.

  9. Are people aware of the Brian Lilly resignation? I am upset that their reporting is resulting in some harsh criticism, and Lilly leaving indicates a serious rift at Rebel. In my view they are to be commended for at least trying to provide an alternative view — otherwise totally missing in Canada. Doug Schweitzer (a UCP leadership hopeful) suggests Conservatives abandon Rebel. How interesting that the CBC has decided to give him profile on this. CBC’s one sided views set the tone in Canada. I personally was ok with tolerating them for a long time . . . but since Liberals have been in power, I have changed my mind. They are self-serving and abusive and harmful to democracy in Canada with their one-sided coverage.
Anyway, Rebel has taken a lot of flack for their Charlottesville coverage. (I was impressed that they were there!). This commentary by Faith Goldy clarifies who they are: https://www.therebel.media/charlottesville_in_my_own_words
You can also find Ezra’s memo to staff on the Rebel site. It too is worth a read.

  10. Thanks LindaL.
I generally agree with you about The Rebel. I’m grateful for their presence, even as I go there less and less due to the inflamed rhetoric.
I think they’re walking the line on covering right wing news and offering up entertaining takes on things as Gavin McInnes does. In fact, his ’10 Things I Hate About Jews’ segment is held up by opponents as proof of their alt-right ideals. That’s like saying Monty Python are Nazis IMO.
I think Ezra made a fair point in his comment about Brian Lilley when he suggested that Lilley’s ‘other’ media overlords have pressured him to cut ties. Taken out of context, Faith Goldy’s commentary this weekend on the events in Charlottesville seem sympathetic to the neo-Nazi cause. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that Michael Chong also denounced The Rebel on Monday.
The Rebel is still growing, changing and evolving and their rise has been meteoric. They’re now segmenting into Rebel Edge, Rebel Canada and are going global. That is smart. They’re the only media outlet who has their reporters in the thick of things (ie border crossings, protests, Virginia riots) and for that alone they’re worthwhile. I would like to see one of their divisions morph into a respectable, conservative Canadian voice we all deserve and am willing to support them through the transition.
    Cheers,
    Warren

  11. Cultural vandalism is exactly what it is. Those Confederate statues are not symbols of “racism”, but memorials to a heart-wrenching conflict in which many died. Someone (the globalists, I suspect) have deliberately introduced the idea that these memorials that relate to a conflicts from 150 years ago (and the institution of slavery that was long ago destroyed) are suddenly “codes” for anti-Black sentiment. They are not . . . those pictures of smiling BLM’s in front of historical statues that they have just destroyed does not exactly speak well of the BLM mentality. As one poster comments, this type of thing is nothing but evidence of stupidity and vanadalism.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-uAZa4H1vk Time for the media to stop sugar coating BLM and Antifa vandalism. People on both the left and right should start demanding this.

  12. The Alt-left in action:
    AUGUST 15, 2017 1:16 PM
    DURHAM
The protester who climbed a ladder to help bring down a Confederate soldier statue was arrested Tuesday, and Sheriff Mike Andrews said his office will pursue felony charge against others.
“Let me be clear, no one is getting away with what happened,” Andrews said.
Takiyah Thompson, a member of Workers World Party and student at N.C. Central University, was arrested after activists held a press conference at NCCU Tuesday afternoon. In a release Thompson said she was the one who tied a rope around the soldier’s neck so that others could pull the statue to the ground.
The protest left The Confederate Soldiers Monument, dedicated on May 10, 1924, headless on the grass.

Where does this all end? In my view, incitement begets reaction, which is, I guess, what the Democrats and their freaky fringe groups WANT, to aid them in the 2018 election.

  13. AGW RIP.
    …-
    “August snowflakes fall in Canada.”
“It’s not unheard of to see some snowflakes in Canada’s northern territories in mid-summer, but it’s usually very rare south of 60.
Nevertheless, it does happen, and this year, the first people in southern Canada to see snow were people at Sunshine Village resort in Banff, Alta., and if the video below is any indication, it was more than a few flakes.”

  14. Workers World Party:
    http://www.workers.org/wwp/what-is-wwp-2/
“Workers World Party is a revolutionary Marxist-Leninist party dedicated to organizing and fighting for a socialist revolution in the United States and around the world. With branches around the U.S., WWP develops militant organizers in every struggle, from anti-racist and immigrant rights to labor, anti-war and anti-imperialist struggles.
We are active in the Black Lives Matter movement including advocating for disarming the police and other repressive state apparatus. Workers World Party supports the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer struggles, and the fight for the rights of people with disabilities and women. We are in solidarity with the struggle for a living income, including the massive fight for a $15 hourly wage, as well as free healthcare for all and reproductive justice. We oppose the ruling class agenda of austerity and their attacks on the living standards of all workers. We fight against home foreclosures and evictions, water and utility shutoffs, school closings and charter schools. We support unions in the fight against the bosses. We call for the end to the rule of Wall Street, the military and the corporations as a necessary step in the struggle to mitigate climate change and to stop further harm to the environment.
We oppose U.S. intervention everywhere – in the Middle East, Latin America, Caribbean, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Indigenous lands within the United States. We unconditionally support the Palestinian people in the struggle against the Zionist state of Israel. We call for the shutdown of the Pentagon and the use of the war budget to improve the lives of the working class and especially the oppressed peoples. We fight for the right of self-determination including the right to separation for all oppressed nations at home and abroad.”

  15. Some of this seems to stem from Faith Goldy`s coverage of Charlottesville. I think it was courageous for her and Rebel to go to that event. It was definitely newsworthy. Like Faith, however, I think I misunderstood exactly what that event was about. I actually did think there were legitimate protestors wanting to preserve their heritage and also express support for a rightist perspective. As it turned out, the event was a set up . . . I believe by the left . . . deliberately intended to discredit those on the right. Undoubtedly, there were some neo-Nazis and white supremacists in attendance (that is certainly where the media focus was.) However as a genuine Ùnite the Right event, it did nothing but undermine the credibility of the right. Probably a lot of people recognized this and therefore stayed away. A few more naive people would have attended . . . but the bulk of those sporting Nazi regalia, etc., those carrying torches, etc. have nothing in common with people on the right. It was a set up. Even the leader of the group was a former Occupy Wallstreet protestor. Conservatives would never choose to associate with such individuals. This was not a ùnite the right`event, it was a set up to sow divisions on the right and provide the media with an opportunity to paint the right as a bunch of fools. If you did not realize that going in, you may have had some sympathy for how the demonstrators were being treated by the Antifa thugs and BLM bullies and you would have had concerns about the lack of protection afforded by the police — who had plenty of manpower there. This is about shutting down conservative voices.
The blowback on Rebel is an example. I do not believe for one minute that anyone at Rebel espouses Nazis or hateful causes. They can push the envelope sometimes, but they are about the only media outlet covering things that are controversial in a way that exposes the hypocrisy and stupidity of the current government. Both Ezra and Faith wrote a defense of their approach. I think they have been unfairly maligned.

  16. The capitalist/libertarian/freedom-loving right should not unite with the white supremacist “right”. That viewpoint is really just another branch of collectivism and therefore has more in common with the left. Only the hatreds – race versus class – are different.

  17. I guess Lilley and Robson have not figured it out yet.
Being “White” and having an opinion makes you racist, white supremist, evil honkey, very bad person, not entitled to civl or legal rights..
Does not matter what the opinion is..
So forget playing nice and being reasonable.
    Old rules .Do not work.
The parasites are in full voice, listen carefully.
These persons contribute nothing, build nothing, damage many and they want it all.
    They are ENTITLED.
So was King Louis and Marie Antoinette.
Enough rope has been played out, the idiots are almost at full gallop, time to snub ‘er down and enjoy the show.
Charlottesville is a fake, more artificial news..created just for you.
If everyone who turned up to legally protest are White Supremists, why does the media only show us the carefully selected few?
As for the strategic withdrawall of the “Serve and Protect phonies” I guess the dead woman,s family will be cash richer soon.
And all the injured rioters will be able to sue the Governors Office for loss of income.
I think the Left call this a win win.
I hope the Attorney General does his job here, civil rights were denied and someone died.
A careful audit and investigation should be very interesting.
