  1. Shortly after the movie was released, I was in a theatre that was showing it, though I was there to see a different film. While I was waiting, I was chatting with someone and he was upset about Phantom, claiming it had a satanic message. If I recall, the slogan on the poster was “He sold his soul for rock and roll” and that was his objection.
Evidently, that person didn’t have a broad background in literature and, I suspect, hadn’t seen the movie, either. If he had, he might have recognized the plot was based on Faust, a story which inspired several operas, at least one Broadway musical and its Hollywood adaptation (Damn Yankees), plus a number of other movies.
The lesson of that story is to beware of what one asks for as one might actually get it, but at a high price.

Stephan Molyneux in conversation with the most politically incorrect man of the day.
A man shunned and shamed by every post-modernist/cultural Marxist. This in deference to the annointed ones. They who command who is allowed to work and who is allowed to eat, and who is not.
But what is this great transgression that caused such outrage?
Well, the self-righteous, they don’t want you to actually read the article the “bad” man wrote.
The High Priest/Priestesses of the MSM command you to obey them. To accept their opinions. You are not allowed to read and reason to your own opinions.
For to do so, to exercise free will and take responsibility for your self, that would be a sin, a sin of apostasy.
“If you do that and you risk ex-communication!” so saith the High Priests/Priestesses of the cult of the MSM.
What? You dared to read the forbidden article, to listen to the banished man?
If everyone did that the cult of the MSM would wither and die slowly and in disgrace, like a decrepit toothless serpent underneath the wheel of human progress.
    Make is so.

  4. They always believe that the laws of economics won’t apply to their pet projects.
Philly soda tax makes soft drinks more expensive than beer
City fathers imposed a whopping 1.5-cent-per-ounce tax on sugary drinks. They confidently looked forward to a massive revenue stream from people who they believed were not going to notice how expensive soda would become.
But in the case of the soda tax, people who buy both beer and soda for their families couldn’t help noticing that suddenly, they were paying more for soda than beer. This began an exodus of people to the suburbs to buy both beer and soda, and probably a lot more.

LEVALLOIS-PERRET, France — French police shot and arrested a man suspected of slamming a BMW into soldiers in a Paris suburb on Wednesday, injuring six of them in what appeared to be a carefully timed ambush before speeding away, officials said.

  6. Donald Trump is now regurgitating the rhetoric of the subhuman he appointed for AG:
“Meanwhile, federal drug prosecutions have gone down in recent years. We’re going to be bringing them up and bringing them up rapidly. At the end of 2016, there were 23 percent fewer than in 2011. So they looked at this scourge and they let it go by, and we’re not letting it go by. The average sentence length for a convicted federal drug offender decreased 20 percent from 2009 to 2016.”

If he follows through on this it might actually make sense to vote Dem in 2018.

    Bravo! Sigmund Sobolewski #88.
“He also witnessed kapos forcing naked Soviet prisoners outside in winter and hosing them with water. Years later, in Alberta, the sight of cows huddled against the wind reminded him of those men freezing to death. “They were making horrible, inhuman noises, like animals,” he said.”

“Alberta activist Sigmund Sobolewski was among first Auschwitz inmates
He was deported to Auschwitz before the gas chambers were built, before inmates were tattooed, even before the barracks were ready. He was by himself, a teenager on the first mass transport of prisoners to the infamous Nazi camp.
Sigmund Sobolewski, a former Alberta man who has died at 94, was among the very first inmates sent to Auschwitz, as indicated by his very low prisoner’s number: 88.”

How long did it take the Federal Government to respond to the housing situation in Ft. Mac. last year?
Used to be in the ‘Olden Days’ a country maintained an army for defense and protection. Now with the Liberals in power our army is actually a “Welcome Wagon”. If it wasn’t so tragic it could be made into one of those “Carry On” movies the Brits used to produce, with a bit of Faulty Towers thrown in. I can see it now Trudeau as the hotel manager, (Basil Faulty), Harj as the irrepressible houseboy Manuel, and Freeland as the cook and bottle washer. Oh, the irony, the irony…..

“The lies behind the Paris climate accord
On June 1st, President Trump withdrew the U.S. from the Paris climate accord.
He was right to do so.
Paris accord supporters were always deluding themselves about China’s commitments to reduce carbon emissions. As I explained, they “cite China’s reduced coal usage as evidence of its seriousness about the process. Unfortunately, their assumption rests on the reliability of Chinese government data.” That data, I suggested, was not reliable.
I was correct. On Tuesday, a BBC investigation outlined massive data flaws that undercut the very essence of the Paris climate accord.
China and India, respectively the world’s top and fourth highest carbon emitters, are vastly under-recording their emissions.”

“‘Dodgy’ greenhouse gas data threatens Paris accord
Potent, climate-warming gases are being emitted into the atmosphere but are not being recorded in official inventories, a BBC investigation has found.
Air monitors in Switzerland have detected large quantities of one gas coming from a location in Italy.
However, the Italian submission to the UN records just a tiny amount of the substance being emitted.
Levels of some emissions from India and China are so uncertain that experts say their records are plus or minus 100%.
These flaws posed a bigger threat to the Paris climate agreement than US President Donald Trump’s intention to withdraw, researchers told BBC Radio 4’s Counting Carbon programme.”
