  1. Good read. Well beyond those who have faith in their few narratives supporting political positions on “everything”. Progressives demand fear and simplicity.

  2. Yes, I see that now.
Crichton has transformed from the statist he was in the early 70’s, I’d say.

  3. The explanation of Trump voters is spot on. This was a protest VOTE against civilizational collapse … caused by leftists and greedy self-aggrandizing politicians. But nothing will have been accomplished until the swamp is completely drained. Trump took out a nice big turd by relieving Comey of his duties. The swamp (government cesspool) has got to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. My people BUILT a wonderful thing in this nation, which allowed me to be born into wealth and prosperity. No, not my parents … they were poor alcoholics who chose to fritter-away their birthright on self-destructive behavior. No, the wealth and prosperity is embedded in our Constitution, Laws, Industrialization, Technology, and manufacturing. The wealth of our nation is clean water, cheap energy, and clean streets (except in the no-go zones of “urban” centers). The wealth of our nation is “The American Dream” of unlimited opportunity. The left has done their best to kill-off “The American Dream”. This IS a civilizational struggle. However … it IS political. Despite the fact that EVERYONE is affected equally by an international hack … it was caused by incompetent political appointees doing their best to unravel everything MY PEOPLE built. This is a political struggle. A struggle to keep people like Obama and HER from ever seizing control of America (indeed, Western Civilization) EVER again.

  4. Ecc 12:11  The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
Ecc 12:12  And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Ecc 12:13  Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecc 12:14  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

  5. No better example of apocalypses-pending than National Catastrophic magazine.

  6. Best article I’ve read in years, right up there with Matt Ridley!
Naturally, your average lefty will be horrified, declare the author is completely insane, and then continue on their mission to herd as many lemmings as they can find over a cliff.

  7. That looks like the human female reproductive organs. Coincidence?

  8. One more thing can be added to the problematic assumptions of environmentalists who misunderstand complexity and push fear and apocalypse : fraglity. They’ve convinced at least two, maybe three, generations that humans, flora and fauna are extremely fragile. Parents who aren’t perfect will irreparably damage their children. Post secondary students perceive words as violence so need trigger warnings, safe space and no conflicting opinions in order to feel safe. Humans will irreparably damage the environment if it is in the least bit disturbed. Psychologically, it’s no different than the superstitious cultures who have an unshakable belief in the power of curses. Pushing fragility instead of resilience has been a huge mistake.
The belief in fragility is also so demonstrably wrong. Humans in the past have had much more difficult lives and not only survived but flourished. In nature there are hurricanes, tornados, drought, flooding, forest fires, earthquakes, volcanoes…yet humans and nature bounce right back. Both humans and nature are extremely resilient. Animals and plants on the Canadian prairies shrug off temperature extremes from -40C to 35C but a temp increase of .11C per decade it catastrophic? Bullshit.

  9. “The wealth of our nation is “The American Dream” of unlimited opportunity.” Kenji
For those who are “not” dysfunctional the American dream has never been easier to achieve….The number of totally wasted graduates provide an immediate demand for competent employees…The more screwed up they are, the greater their failure…They are flat-liners who will depend on welfare…
The next generation of unlimited opportunity will have both feet on the ground and reject the foolish nonsense…For them it will be SO easy
    BTW:
The Indian Wars.. Custer’s last stand only resulted in ~ 200 Troopers
(16 officers & 132 troopers) killed by ~ 2000 Indians…It was a foolish scrimmage by Custer without the support of Canon or Gatling gun… He thought he would scare them.. It was not a historical battle with a historical lose of life….
    JMHO

  10. I love your observation! So true. And BTW … you better eat a glutin-free diet … or you will suffer from lethargy and brain fog. So says the human fragility movement.

  11. That diagram is similar to ones people in psychotic mania will draw. They always make sense at the time.

  12. Regarding “end of the world” scenarios proffered by environmentalists, it’s all about the money, ladies and gentlemen.
They’re too f’ing lazy to go out and work for a living. They find it much more “profitable” to scare the crap out of people.
“The world is coming to an end. Other horrible, disgusting, knuckle-dragging humans are ruining it! Give me some of your money and I promise, I PROMISE, that you will have a better world. Just give me the money and you’ll be fine.”
Virtually all leftists, environmentalists, socialists, and their collectivist ilk could not care less what the actual problem is. The money they get from it is too good to resist. That’s why governments love carbon taxes so much. (They used to love income taxes.)
“The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.”
    Follow da’ moola.

  13. “Mr. Trump’s most vocal supporters don’t have to defend his specific actions as long as they make liberal heads explode”.

  14. Cheers Kenji-
From a Canuck who truly believes the Solitude of Specialist Treatment, used by politicos, through parastic enticements will come to an end through Border Change(s) within a generation or two.
Then the Continental North American States will recover their footing in a community spanning from the tip of Florida west to Arizona and in a broad sweep North through the Plains and Great Lakes Provinces to combine the North-West and Yukon to Alaska.
The parasitic cultures outside of this panorama will want to join; BUT must accept the ground rules–Social Contract.
