67 Replies to “Killing O’Reilly”

  1. Bloviate. That is the word that comes to mind when I think of him. Although I agreed in principle with much of what he said, he was difficult to listen to for any extended amount of time.

  2. No loss.
A puffed up phoney purveyor of fake news.
Faux News is an entertainment channel no different than any other. Satire at best.

  3. I think they should hire Mark Steyn to replace him 🙂
    That won’t happen.
As it seems the Murdochs are being as politically correct as they can these days. They’re hoping to mollify the E.U. eurocrats and be granted a license for a new TV station there.
So as the MMSM loses audience, and while Fox remains the highest rated news channel by far in the U.S. of A.. Political correctness is reaching across the Atlantic tightening the noose at Fox, too.
The other political inference is, that if a group of women employees decide they want to get rid of a male colleague by complaining. They’re power is supreme.
The cultural Marxist misandry still rides roughshod over workplaces everywhere.

  4. abtrapper do you watch fox news at all?
My two cents…o’rielly the man who wrote killing jesus (if you read the book its a horrible tragedy and now i know why) o’rielly believes Jesus was a nice man and not divine in anyway. heh heh.
once again we see man trying to make god more pleasing to man rather than man more pleasing to god and this is and always has been the end result….corrupt sinful broken men (o rielly in this case) giving into their sinful desires and allegedly sexually harrassing women ect ect.
God bless you o’rielly i will pray for you sir.
Not abig fan of o riellys show but i do agree with him on many things. he was and firmly is i beleive against trump.
Funny thing i work with a few hispanic and black democrats here in tucson they dont like trump but they want him to succeed and dont like what washignton is doing to his presidency i think that is funny because you see the garbage being spewed across tv and its not true democrats do support trump they maybe didnt vote for him but they are not frothy mouthed psychos (though many are out there) they want his presidency to be successful and good for the country one thing they do support him on is the removal of boarders between health insurance companies. a guy in arizona should be able to get coverage from a company in new mexico or alaska if he chooses.

  5. Don’t kid yourselves. This is a huge loss that may signal the decline of Fox News and a trophy kill for the activist left.

  6. Who cares, really? Either he is Bill Clinton, and all who are attacking him are hypocrites. Or he is innocent and they are liars. Either way, it is just Democrats being Democrats.
Never apologize. Never explain. Your enemies won’t believe you. Your friends don’t need it.

  7. “I’m fine with that.”
    Agree as well.
There’s a difference between a strong & forceful personality that engages people with willful conviction, verses acting like an egotistical asshole looking for ratings.
Would it take an online poll to figure out which one most people think Billy Bob was?

  8. Kate >
“This is a huge loss that may signal the decline of Fox News”
Maybe, what’s really too bad that this is supposedly the best the “right” or “conservative” voice can bring to the mainstream table.
As some of the other commenters mentioned, Fox should at least try to refresh the spot with someone current and engaging in a positive way.

  9. The ‘win’ could be measured by his replacement. If he/she is a moderate then I’m inclined to agree but things worked out ok for Fox with Tucker replacing Kelly.
That is why I’d like to see Ben Shapiro in there but I worry that “Fox don’t about about my feelings.” har har.
    Warren

  10. I don’t care too much about losing O’Reilly. I was never a fan. What does bother me is the obvious left wing hit jobs going on AND the Murdochs suckholing to them. They need to take a page from Trump.

  11. He could always go back to being a tabloid TV show host, which he was about 25 years ago.

  12. Agree completely. This is like shooting the whole network in the foot. Bill’s influence is not just the Factor but his website is probably the best charitable website anywhere. He gives millions to charity and those people who benefit are viewers. I doubt you will have heard the last from O’Reilly.

  13. I understand it was the two Murdoch fils rather than père who wanted him cast overboard.
(But since I don’t watch Fox – or CNN either, for that matter – the news of his departure means nothing to me.)

  14. so Bill Clinton has a trial because his finger do the walking but his wife and daughter have nbo issue or questions to answer. But have a number 1 conservative host that becomes too powerful and his supposedly calling a woman “hot chocolate” is enough to get him run out on a rail all tared and feathered…. no double standard , no balls fox news.

  15. “Hot Chocolate”?
    wasn’t that a ’70’s disco band…
warms the soul on a cold night
    yeah baby
    groovy

  16. Yes, Fox News in the only mainstream television in North America that allows a critique of leftist, cultural Marxism and Islamic supremacism.
Forcing out the highest audience rated personality on Fox News is the equivalent of the MSM/Democrats/cultural Marxists forcing the resignation of Gen. Flynn as National Security Advisor for Pres. Trump.
Because the Democrats lost the election to control the White House, they have turned on full zealot jihad on every cultural issue they can manage.
North America is in full civil war mode.
O’Reilly isn’t the first casualty and he won’t be the last.
As the military says “Danger Near”. We’re all on the front lines.

  17. The bottom line is that he couldn’t keep hands off of female employees. And at some point, the lawsuits were gonna all pile up in 9-digit awards cause of it. They had to cut their risk and losses.

  18. Good. It’s about damn time.
That old fool is a blowhard, a bully, a know-nothing and emblematic of everything that has been wrong wrong with patronizing and shallow conservatism.Inc for decades. I can’t stand that bastard. I’d much rather tune into Cops on utube and watch takedowns of dopeheads, gangbangers and dindus.
He was a waste of five hours a week on Fox for far too many years.
Now that they have gotten rid of their two biggest liabilities (MeGYN Kelly being the the other) perhaps they can find someone of Tucker’s caliber to take over his slot (BTW, his rankings are kicking the sh!t out of dear Me-Again Kelly’s. Heh).
I just hope it’s not that idiot, and Bush shill, Dana Perino.

  19. First Kelly (who I liked, even though Trump supporters loathed her for daring to ask challenging questions) and now O’Reilly.
Not a good couple of months for Fox.

  20. C’mon guys. This is no left wing conspiracy. The man was abusing women. We’re talking about the Murdochs ferchrisake. If they’ve lost patience with Bill there was a lot more than just some bloviating lefties.
Bill’s performance was schizophrenic – at his best there are few that are/were better – at his worst he was impossible to watch. He’s old – he should be retired. Its too bad he’s going out under a cloud but it was long past due.

  21. So people still look for news coverage and commentary on TV?
Only the idiots who can’t think for themselves.

  22. And yet here you are. Commenting about something that you claim is “unimportant”. Odd.

  23. This is suicidal of FOX. O’Reilly is the best they have by far, the others are OK but he is better than all the rest combined.

  24. Totally agree with Kate. It’s a huge loss. As for all you who dislike watching him, did you ever really watch with any regularity? He’s not on cable in Canada unless you specifically pay for FNN.
Most of the people I engage who suggest he’s a blowhard and bully have never really watched him. So their opinion is unsubstantiated and invalid. I thought folks here were better than that.
The left won another big one today so no, it’s not ‘ok’.

  25. Larry: your succinct comment describes the Truth.
If the examples given for Bill O’Reilly’s most Sexist Remarks are the standard for discussing Gender? Then I am a Sexist.
There is very little different in the remarks from the Over-The-Top reasons why Free-Speech is no longer allowed at both U.S.A. and Canadian Universities.
The Murdochs are throwing the comments of FREE Discussions by a Tall Male with 22 years of trying to, at least slow down the Progressive destruction meme Without the “O’Reilly Factor” the U.S.A. will now be RULED by the Corrupt Clinton Foundation.
Fox News will lose this dedicted Fox News viewer.

  26. The take down of O’Reilly’s Number 1# rated News Program on Cable was an organized hit by Soros and his ilk. The tactics of going after the advertisers has been done many times before. In Canada, Sun News had the same immediate attacks from Avaz.org.(more Soros’s tentacles).
Kate is 100% right. Remember, the Murdoch’s had the Largest Selling 1# Daily Morning Tabloid in England. Same style of take down. No one was convicted for spying on that newspaper. Murdoch’s were forced to give up the publication to save their TV channel, SKY News.

  27. I 100% Agree with your assessment Kate. Those here that say the loss of O’Reilly is no big deal are the ones that didn’t watch him. He was FNC’s nightly Field General and covered the various battle grounds with a genuine interest on giving fair common sense fact based opinion to inform the public. The Left hated O’Reilly because his adherence to strong principled reporting always gave him the high ground which made it easy to defend and push back. O’Reilly could become short with guests but only when those guests were acting deceptively or obfuscating clear facts.
O’Reilly’s firing is a sad day for Conservatives and a huge self-inflicted kick in the cojones for the FNC. We’ve lost a strong voice of reason in the news media. There’s absolutely no excuse for the mess that cut O’Reilly down but given the rather desperate “sell your soul” for a break nature of television I’m not surprised games were played off-camera. I’m pretty sure every major media organization has similar stories.

  28. My main problem with this outcome is that it is a “take down” rather than something which evolved because of disaffected viewers etc.
He did interrupt guests but he also had a bully pulpit for highlighting issues such as Kate Steinle murder and illegals in US.
Now Tucker has O’Reilly spot and The Five has the next hour with Jesse Watters on the panel – not sure if that is such a good fit for the time slot? Eric Bolling now gets his own slot where The Five used to be. Steyn and Tucker are a good fit – maybe something could happen there?
This does not have a good feel.

  29. You are correct Kate, this is an irreparable blow to the quality of their programming. 95% of the time I tune-out when there is a guest host on The Factor(especially Eric Bolling)
FNC is a shell of what it was just a few short months ago.
They’ve lost their best talent(O’Reilly and Kelly… honorable mention to A.Tantaros & J. Bila); and are now simply a JV team.
They should be blessing their lucky stars that they gave Tucker Carlson a chance, because he is the ONLY analyst they have with critical thinking skills.
That said, Tucker is a RED conservative; whereas, O’Reilly and Kelly were moderates; therefore, Carlson cannot replace O’Reilly as far as commentary or balance goes. It is simply conservative a or b wrt Carlson and Hannity.
This is definitely NOT a network with All Star Talent anymore.
BTW, I like the Stern and Shapiro suggestions… I’d like to add Ed Henry to the list.
    Cheers

  30. Bill O’Reilly being forced out at Fox News will prove disastrous for FOX in the near and long term, particularly in terms of “conservative content” in the MSM.
Bill wasn’t always the biggest conservative or loudest conservative, but had a product that allowed middle of the road voters, to understand rightwing positions,,, an alternative to the constant leftwing drone.
Bloviating,,,Really!??? No more so than Matthews, Kelly, Madcow, Mika, Holt, Brian Williams, Scott Pelley etc…for eiff’s sakes!
    agree with OttRob’s suggestion,
    http://www.stitcher.com/podcast/the-glenn-beck-program/e/49892392?autoplay=true
listen to the first hour. It’s about the left and Media Matters roll in all this.
This is politics, not sexual harassment. This is about destroying any conservative thought on the public airwaves/tv.
Next time they get power,,,it’ll be the internet, including this Blog.

  31. It is amazing how many people are quick to hang anyone under suspicion of sexual harassment without proper details or so to say a trial…
I watched O’Reilly’s show off and on for years… He is very assertive. He is very confidant. He was well prepared for the subjects and challenges. I never saw him diminish anyone male or female unless they deserved yet.
In my own businesses I was accused of sexual harassment, twice… once by a female and another time by a male ( a 250 plus pound man to be exact ). Both were proved by officials to be fabrications. Both to me were vendettas for the personal self gain of the complainants.
So don’t be quick to judge folks. In todays world if you are actually out doing things that matter, trouble will find you no matter how good a person you are. If you don’t want anything to happen to you, just try hiding the rest of your life; do nothing of consequence – trouble will still find you.
As someone else said in this thread Tucker Carlson will look good in this spot and this could be a fresh, youthful voice. Tucker has been good in his own time slot – also a protégé of O’Reilly’s ethic with news.

  32. I could stomach O’Reilly when (if) he curbed his arrogance. I like Tucker Carlson, especially his takedowns of liars and liberals…but I repeat myself. For the life of me, I can’t see why that fuktard Shep Smith hasn’t been sent packing!

  33. Some people think that a ‘fresh youthful’ should be chosen.
The west has a lot of elderly seniors who do NOT admire youth.
We have money and we vote. So don’t tread on us.

  34. because Shep has the homosexual box ticked. He’s not going anywhere, and he knows it.

  35. IMO O’Reilly is the most astute political analyst on TV.
That said, he is woefully out of touch with respect to popular culture. That was his Achilles Heel; and he was taunted mercilessly for it.
There will be no recovery for FOXNews. Period! Just like there was no recovery for Colts when Peyton Manning left.

  36. I had to quit watching O’Reilly a couple of years ago. He took credit for the sun coming up in the morning and everything in between.
That being said (here I go again),I would like to know if he really is guilty and if you think I should take the word of the women only? Is there ever evidence in these cases? Soon a man won’t feel safe working in a building with any female.
So who benefits from this vendetta against males?
Feminazis are the only ones I can think of.
What a way to end a sterling career.

  37. One could infer that the Murdochs are cutting their costs by using trumped up charges against their heavy hitters (high cost talent) to give them (the Murdochs) grounds for dismissal. First Roger Ailes now Bill O’Reily. Being completely honest I really don’t care. I subscribed to Fox News for about 3 months and grew tired of O’Reily, Hannity etc. I wanted information and all I got was entertainment that was more annoying than entertaining and certainly not informative. I pulled my subscription and haven’t watched it since. I guess I am more of a W F Buckley conservative than a Fox News conservative.

  38. I wonder how many males have had there bums prodded at CNN. I saw Don Lemon on there the other day, he had a fat lip.. Story there?.. Where ever there are humans, there will be sexual contact. Right now females have the advantage, and all those settlements we hear about were all in the millions of dollars…Bill could be annoying, but always worth watching. I’m sure he did’nt leave empty handed.

  39. I bet those women were gleeful running to the bank with their settlements. Men who have power, position and money are very attractive to women who are on the prowl and these men are vulnerable. I’ve seen many men brought down by women who feel they are the entitled victim. Have you ever heard of a wealthy successful women being accused of sexual harassment. Not likely, as women don’t sexually harass guys…? I agree that the feminazis are out there and soon no successful man will be safe in any organization. As for O’Reilly, I liked his show periodically especially when there was an important issue up for discussion. Was he too old? I don’t think so, not for his type of show. We Canadians are stuck with Peter Mansbridge and we had to see Lloyd Robertson forever…I never watch CBC or CTV anymore Tucker Carlson is a refreshing replacement for Megan Kelly whom I thought was a barracuda. I’m sure O’Reilly can be replaced, eventually. Hope the replacement isn’t a leftie.

  40. Well, I like Bill and will miss him if he goes. Oh I already said that. Fox is shooting themselves in the foot with this move. The bottom line is that no effective critic of the left can be allowed to exist.

  41. Sean Hannity is doing a great job, but the rest are RINO’s for the most part. I vot efor Jesse Watters to replace O’Leprechaun

  42. Michael Savage has always claimed that Bill O’Reilly was personally the primary reason he was censored by Fox, via insider sources.
