Notley knows she’s fighting for the political life of the ABNDP. If that means throwing the BCNDP overboard, so be it. Strange bedfellows, indeed.

Gruesome, yet I can’t look away. No I wouldn’t say that. This is the kind of thing that makes you want to put your feet up, crack open a beer, and just watch it happen.
LOL – PC & Wildrose will merge, Jason Kenny will be leader of the new party, soon Rachel Nutley will be another ugly distant memory like the redhead #whatshername.
In the meantime enjoy the oilfield restructuring/ streamlining and bargain prices Alberta, it won’t last forever.
Except all common sense is thrown out the window, and logical thinkers suffer at the hands of Marxists infighting between provinces. The KM project makes too much sense, as it will replace an aging pipeline (60 years) that needs to be refurbished or replaced. if you di g up the trench, you might as well upsize and upgrade the whole line. This makes complete sense from an engineering, maintenance, and futureproofing POV.
But according to the environutters, pipelines break all the time, tanker ships are the most hazardous ships anywhere, GPS systems don’t work, oil spills happen everywhere, so we just shouldn’t do it. The so-called “science” crowd, showing their complete disdain for modern science and state of the art navigation systems. Go figure! In the meantime, while shutting down extra revenue streams, the Marxists want to ramp up social program spending exponentially.
You cant fix stupid!
Half the voters are below average intelligence and dont examine issues in detail, nor do they have long memories. “Maybe this time it will be different”. And these idiots always seem to have to find out the hard way.
Judging by the posting forums on FB regarding this election, there are plenty of BC residents stuck on stupid, and lifelong Marxists with no common sense, whose live are run by feelings over common sense and logic. For those shallow poeple, its always gubmints fault for their sorry choices in life.
Here’s to hoping the vote splitting between the Marxists and the Watermelons goes according to plan, dividing the left vote, letting the BCLibs, for better or for less than better, get a majority. if not for the media who are ginning up the Watermelon vote
The dippers came from far and wide in the last election to help Rachael. She has alienated that crowd with her tacit support of pipelines and the O&G industry. She’s viewed as an apostate by the dipper zealots.
The BC dips don’t want her help. She is anathema to their cause. They’re so pissed at what she’s done they’d ask Harper before her.
Once the madness is over here in AB Rachael Notley will be ‘bob-raed’ by the ndp. She’ll likely have to resurface as a federal librano.
Knight, there are a lot who think that way. There are a lot of the Wildrose supporters (I’m one of them) who know that the only reason the NDP got into power in Alberta is the stabbing-in-the-back by Prentice of the Wildrose, under the guise of a union before the last election. How did that work out? The Wildrose folks didn’t get the local nomination, the Wildrose supporters were mad at the defectors and livid at the betrayal, and the PC party supporters who couldn’t hold their noses selected to protest vote to the party with the least chance of achieving power (the NDP). They didn’t want an NDP government, they wanted to protest the PC party by giving them less support.
There are merger talks going on. The Wildrose delegates were elected by the Wildrose membership. The PC delegates were appointed by Jason Kenny (or a designate). There are two fundamentally different visions – the master party that must be elected and obeyed, and the grassroots “we’ll elect you to run things, just stay out of our hair.”
The PC party has acted like top-down despots. That’s why they lost last time. They only won the time before that because the Alberta Liberal party supporters jumped to prop up the PCs. The PC apparatus that brought us Queen Allison is still in place. So long as that apparatus is in place, I will not vote PC. In a choice between death by firing squad by 100 guns (NDP) or by 10 guns (PC), I choose neither.
I recognize that it may mean I’m poorer for a few years, but racing over the cliff is the same as slowly crawling over the cliff. I want to go a different direction instead. The split in the federal PC party took many years to heal, but eventually brought us PMSH, a man so good at the job that he made it look easy enough for a ski instructor to do. Ultimately the right will consolidate in Alberta too.
The NDP/its predecessors/ideals is a utopian religion not just a political party. Like all religions it has a set of beliefs and should a member question those beliefs said member is shunned. However any ideologue such as Notley and Rae before her who become premiers soon discover that reality and ideology are not the same thing and are thus faced with a dilemma. Do they hold to the unworkable ideology or do they become a bit more pragmatic. If they become pragmatic they will lose the support of their coreligionists but if they remain doctrinaire they will lose the power they have fought so long to gain. To paraphrase an old song
She’s an old dippie and she don’t know what to do
Should she hang on to the old
Should she grab on to the new
She’s an old dippie…her new life is just a bust
She still trying to change everybody
And she’s trying real hard to adjust

“..the Wildrose supporters were mad at the defectors and livid at the betrayal”.
Yup all true.
The good news is that Kenny is a known personage with few surprises in store, and the Wildrose are doing a careful and deliberate job of keeping their supporters up to speed on merger talks this time around.
The big bonus for the PC’s the last election was purging much of the leftist infiltrators that quickly defected to NDP, and they took names.
So all in all, it’s just a matter of time until Alberta gets it’s house back in order.
I’m just praying for a Nutley criminal scandal to land her crazy butt in prison as a cherry on the cake. Unfortunately even semi-functioning wacko’s seem know when to lay low when they’re under immanent threat.
Braid is The Herald socialist, what he says is pretty much irrelevant.
Your basic gossip and specifically socialist gossip[ guy.
CEEBEECEE says:
“Under Canada’s immigration law, if someone has committed or been convicted of a crime, they may not be allowed into Canada because they’re “criminally inadmissible.” They’re either detained or returned to their country of origin.”
Yeah, right.
Like this guy.

Good, that gook Communist deserved to be shot. It’s called a battlefield summary execution and it’s used to put down plain clothed soldiers.

>catch one in the act of burying police bodies in a mass grave
>kill the mass murderer responsible
Now a moron like you is shitting on him for doing the right thing.
And you think he’s a bad guy?

Yes; C. Miner; The Damages the BWWB-king has been done. The Corrupt Crony Crowd who pul His Chain, cannot determine if it is Still the Gerry Butts Gang or If Butts is a minion of the Herle Crowd.
In either situation Butts will not remain supine for the excretion David Herle Crowd; ancient as they have now become. If experience moves toward separation then the Herle Crowd will attempt a hi-jacking as they did with Mr. Dithers (Paul Martin).
It is almost desirable to allow the BWWB-king to remain in place long enough to completely set the Corrupt Crony Class beyond reach of the Tax-Payer Funding Faucet forever.
But now that the primary “world without Borders- North American Puppet” of the European “Old Money” is receiving a Daily Reality proctology Examination with His Reputattion as POTUS # 44. The “Old Money of Europe” is scrambling to establish an European Serf Culture in North America.
Justin is the new Obama. Brazil was going to be the easiest European Serfdom Country to assume control over, but the Hispanolia Elite are proving to be much more difficult to command than The Old Money European expected.
Certainly the South American’s will be more difficult as an aware Populace than the “Snow Flake” Generation Obama/Justin -the BWWB-king; represents .
glad to make you happy, enjoy.
Great insults, bet you went to school for a long time.
